Mark & I started off with only the best intentions today...
We'd planned to stop off on our way home from the market and pick up some Jamba Juice for lunch (since I'm addicted to the Orange Berry Blitz and Mark can't get enough of the Orange DreamMachine.) I have no idea how it happened, but we ended up eating lunch at the nearby McDonald's instead! :P That's quite surprising since the last time Mark & I ate at McDonald's was a year ago - while we waited to go to Lea Salonga's concert at the Blaisdell. :P It had been so long since I was there that I had no idea what to order - and I was shocked at all the new menu items (I saw the pineapple pies for the first time!) Turns out the food wasn't as great as I remembered it... And that's a good thing - maybe it'll take us another year to want to go back there to eat again. :P

In great LA trip news, I was able to purchase my tickets for "The Drowsy Chaperone" for the matinee on the 12th for just $20! I'd seen the "Hot Tix" that were offered through the site, but I was under the impression that they needed to be purchased in person. Thankfully, a nice message board poster over at BWW.Com clarified the purchase policy for me - so I called this morning and woo hoo! $90 Orchestra tickets for just $20! :D Yay!

I also got some great mail today (actually yesterday, but we didn't check our mailbox until this evening) :P bigrivermusical was sweet enough to send me a playbill from "On The Town!" :D Thanks SO much, Kaoru - you're the best!! It totally made my day to receive it in the mail! :) Now I can post Bets' bio on the site. :D I also received the cutest card from lindasings with a Yip Harburg stamp to boot - I love my theatre friends! :)

Finally - I have to say, for a small dog, Sydney sure does take up a lot of space on the bed! ;) Now that I use my laptop, my work space of choice has been the bed (which explains my unintentional naps this weekend...Blech!) and Sydney's been a little upset that her usual nap spots have been taken over by my computer. :P To combat this, she's been stretching out in MY space and will constantly try to push me off the bed when I'm working on the computer! :) Gotta love my little diva doggie! ;)

Ooops! I almost forgot - I was tagged by dudepower1982 :)

1. Go into your LJ’s archive.
2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag 5 people on your friend list.

What good fortune I had to actually pick such a talented, thoughtful person like him to make a web site for. :)

(Of course I was speaking of Kevin here - who else? ;)) And I'm supposed to tag five people, but I'm so exhausted that I'm going to be bad and not tag anyone, if you'd like to do this meme - I'd love to see it. :)

Hope you all have a nice evening, I'm off to take a much needed shower and get ready for another "fun" week of work. :P

I'm sorry I didn't get to respond to this sooner - I'd already left for work! :( Glad to see that you got your $20 tickets, though! Woo hoo for discounts!! :D

Hmmmm... I'm not sure if it's just a local thing, but I was surprised to see it myself! I did see a lot of the newer sandwiches too - it's been so long since I've been there the whole menu looked completely different!

Yay for theatre discounts and asking silly questions on message boards! :D I was pretty happy, though because I'd really wanted to see the show, but couldn't afford the $90 a ticket to see it. :P

I remember in high school, when I was in drama, we used to get orchestra seats (like second or third row) for $7.00 and we'd go to matinees for 7 plays a year at the American Conservatory Theatre in SAn Francisco. My mom always encouraged me to go. We'd get out of class 1/2 a day and get to run around downtown. :D It was great. I miss being able to see plays for a bargain.

I want to see The Drowsy Chaperone so bad!!! AHHHHH! I am so jealous -- you'll have to give a detailed review! :D

I will most definitely let you know how it was! I was so excited that I would be in LA during that time... I'm really looking forward to seeing it! :D

I hardly can remember when I ate at a McDonald's the last time. Years ago the McDonald's in the city closed and I'm too lazy to drive to the other one. I'm sorry to hear that the food was not so great there.

But to get the tickets for $20 sounds very good to me. :) And I've to say I love Sydney, too. Wish I could watch you both. ;)

Big *hugs* to you, Sheri. And please give Sydney also a hug from me. :)

It was actually a blessing that the food wasn't the greatest when we went... It left me with a so-so memory and it won't be a place that I'll crave too much when I'm eating healthy again. :D

I was so happy with the $20 tickets! :) This is definitely going to be a great theatre trip!! :D

Sydney loved your *HUGS*, Sabine!! Thanks so much! Please give one to Micki and Garry too! Big *HUGS* to you too, Sabine!!! :D
