One of the most interesting things that Mark brought home...
...was a box of caramels that tasted like a famous meat dish in Japan. I'll admit it, I was pretty afraid to try it, but Mark really wanted to see if I could taste the subtle flavors of the meat since his sense of taste is very limited (due to him being born with no sense of smell.) At first, it tasted just like a regular caramel, then all of a sudden the meaty flavors started to hit me. I think Mark got a kick out of watching my facial expressions more than anything. ;) It felt like something was right out of the pages of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. :P And though it was an interesting experience, I don't think I'll want to eat another one anytime soon. That's the interesting thing about Japan, no one would even think of making meat flavored candy here - and even if they did, I can't imagine that there would be a very large market for it. :P

Mark went back to work today and exhausted as he was, actually made it through the entire day and even managed to stay up through the entire "Commander In Chief" episode tonight. :) Speaking of which, I'll refrain from any opinions I might've had on tonight's episode since a) it wasn't one of my favorites and b) not a bit of Julie anywhere in tonight's show! :P (Does anyone think there might be a correlation between the two?) ;)

In happy LA theatre news, read the pretty good Variety review for "The Wild Party" this evening. :) I've decided to try and see the show on the 13th since I plan to see Kevin sing in the Actor's Fund benefit on the evening of the 12th. :) I've also purchased my ticket to see "Bark!" on the 19th! Yay for Goldstar and half price tickets! :) Thank goodness I waited on purchasing this since I'd planned on going on the 13th, but luckily was able to change weekends when I found out Kristi wasn't going to be in.

And finally, I stole this from Andrea defygravity73:

Name 10 things that make you happy and tag five others
  1. Long talks with the hubby. :D
  2. Snuggling with the fuzzy dog.
  3. An evening of girl talk with Susan.
  4. Spending time with my Mom.
  5. Sitting in a show in COMPLETE awe of the talent on stage.
  6. The excitement of planning a theatre trip (almost as good as the feeling of actually going) :)
  7. Happy Kevin emails (even though today's one began with "So many questions?") ;) Haha! :D Gotta love him! :)
  8. Working on my websites. :)
  9. Hearing people say wonderful things about the performances of the people I adore. :D
  10. Chocolate mochi ice cream! :)
And I'm going to be like Andrea and not tag five people. If you'd like to do this, I'd love to read your answers. :)

Well, I'm off to get some sleep - I apologize for not answering your comments to my last post tonight... I'm just exhausted. I will answer them all first thing tomorrow, though - I promise. :) Hope you all have a nice evening! :)

Um, not sure about that meaty taste for a candy, LOL!!!! It sounds like having a hamburger in a cake. So did you like that meaty taste on the candy?

Haha! The meaty tasting candy was very... interesting! :D It was fun to try, but I doubt I'll ever eat it again. ;) It tasted just like a meat dish there have there in Japan - the oddest thing was that it had NO smell to the candy... it was all just so odd. :)

The second try
Sorry, for doing it twice - everything what has to with this computer seems to be a bit incalculable, including the mouse what jumped from one corner to the other one. Not to forget myself, since I then by mistake pushed one of the mouse buttons.

First, I'm glad that Mark got home safe and that he had such a nice time. :)

The caramels sound interesting but I've to say that I would have been very distrustful - I don't think that I had tasted them. And Snuggling with the fuzzy dog is really one thing what makes me happy, too. :)

Hope you had a nice day, Sheri. :)

Re: The second try
Sabine your comments always make me happy, no matter how down I am. Thank you for always being there for me and for being such a great friend. I wanted to let you know that you've been such a blessing in my life. :)

Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Big *HUGS* to you!

Okay, that's just wrong. Candy should not taste like meat. Yuck! Sounds like those Bernie Botts All Flavor Beans from the "Harry Potter" movies.

Haha! I thought he was joking at first, and then when I tasted it I was shocked. It tasted just like meat. :P

I never heard of such candy! Are you sure Mark isn't pulling your leg? And yes, when I was reading your description, I thought about Chocolate Factory!

Ditto to an e-mail from your fav actor :) Danny's e-mail always makes my day - however short it is ;-)

I'm serious! I saw the box - Genghis Khan caramels! I swear! I totally felt like I was stepping out of the pages of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory when I ate it. :)

Amazing how wonderful favorite actor emails work. :) I just got one today and although today was HORRENDOUS, it did make me smile - even if it just basically said, "Thanks so much." :)

Snuggling with the fuzzy dog.

That's so adorable!

Haha! I wasn't too thrilled about it when I heard too. Surprisingly it wasn't too bad. :P

Sooooo.... the 19th is out?
I bet you forgot my invitation to the Gala of "tick, tick... BOOM!"

In that case, do you want to come with me to the show at the Pasadena Playhouse on the 18th? "Open Window" by Stephen Sachs. A completely new kind of theatre experience, Open Window is presented simultaneously in two languages - spoken English and American Sign Language. Produced in association with Deaf West Theatre (creators of the recent Broadway hit, Big River). Caliban, a tortured young man - deaf, mute, and untamed - has allegedly strangled his father with the chain that has held him prisoner for the last 12 years. Rachel, a world-renowned cognitive scientist, and Susan, her psychologist protégée, take up the fight to save the young man from execution by teaching him speak with his hands . Hypocrisy, con games and personal gain fuel the storm that holds the women's careers and Caliban's life in the balance.

Re: Sooooo.... the 19th is out?
Linda - I'd LOVE to see Open Window with you on the 18th! :) And I didn't forget about your invitation at all!! :) Kristi told me the only day she'd be in for Bark was on the 19th... :( and I hadn't heard back from you about it and Goldstar tickets run out pretty quickly... Do you think that it'll be too far to drive to make it in time for ttB in Ventura? (Is it a two hour drive?)

In any case, I'd love to see you no matter what we see!! :) The shows are nice, but the highlight is always spending time with you! :D

Re: Sooooo.... the 19th is out?
OK! I've requested tickets for Open Window for the 18th(we need to wait for a confirmation). (PHEW! I didn't think we'd ever get together.)

On the 19th... yeah, it's about a 2-hour drive. But you'd have to drive like crazy, and you wouldn't have any time to visit Kristi. .. AND you'd have to search for parking (we don't have a parking lot). And with all that, you still might miss the 7pm curtain. I don't think it's worth it.

Re: Sooooo.... the 19th is out?
Wah! :( I'm sorry, Linda! :( To make matters worse, I guess - Bark has a 3pm curtain time that day (why? I have NO idea!) :P I still REALLY want to see the show, though! :( Have they announced a cast yet?

YAY on Open Window though!! I can't wait to see you!! :) Want to take in dinner or something in the area beforehand??

Re: Sooooo.... the 19th is out?
ttb cast... two of the original NY cast (I can't remember which two, but since there are only three in the cast, you've got a pretty good idea), plus someone else who's name I can't remember (I'm a big help, aren't I?)

On the 18th... Absolutely we should go to dinner first!
