Just trying to make it through until the weekend....
...for some unknown reason - this week felt SO long... I honestly thought that it felt like Thursday way back on Tuesday and I never thought I'd actually make it to the weekend... :P What makes things worse is that tax season is only beginning so I have this bad feeling that the weeks will only start to feel longer as April 15th nears.... :P

In LA theatre news, part of the reason this week felt so long is that I would've given anything to be in LA this weekend! :( Not only is Kevin performing in the STAGE LA benefit concert, but the LADCC Awards (in which Bets is nominated for Best Featured Performance) is this coming Monday!! To make things even more heartbreaking, I just found out last night that Bets was going to be singing "I Can Cook Too" at the awards ceremony! :( *SIGH* Sometimes living so far away from great LA theatre really stinks. :(

Speaking of which - I just discovered recently that Todd Fournier (who I raved about from "It Came From Beyond") was cast in Nick's new show, "Pilgrim" with Bets! :) The show also appeared on Goldstar this afternoon, but by the time I checked, all the Comp tickets that they were giving away were gone! :( Most of the half price tickets were already sold out as well! :) Hopefully that means good things for Nick and his new show and hopefully it'll also mean an extended run into a month when I can actually travel! *crosses fingers*

In other news, Chad recently announced his engagement online and allowed Pat to put up some engagement photos of he and Carly... They look SO cute together and very happy - it's so nice to see him finally get the type of life that he deserves. :) And I really do owe him a lot... for so many reasons - if for nothing else, for introducing me to Kevin 5 years ago!!

And on a completely different note... Phase I of our American Idol contest at work is now over. My boss won first place by correctly picking 10 of the top 12. :) I came in 2nd by correctly picking the 9 of the top 12... I was actually surprised tonight to see Ayla go - it's a shame since she had ONE off night... And who knew Bucky had so many fans?? Tomorrow we start Phase II of the competition at work wherein we have to make our predictions for Top 5 (in the order we think they'll place). It's going to be a hard one for me...

I'm off to catch up on all of your journals! I'm sorry I haven't been around a lot lately, but with work and all the web stuff, I haven't had the chance to spend a lot of time on LJ recently... I will catch up tonight, though - I promise! :) Hope you all have a nice evening!! Big *HUGS*

Congratulations on your second place. I didn't know anything about your American Ideal contest at work :-) Seems like a lot of fun.

You must be devestated knowing there's so much going on this weekend in LA and not to be able to attend. Believe me I know how it is. And hey there will be plenty of other occasions! I force myself to always think positive.

How's your fancy little dog by the way?

Awww, thanks Hanna! :) American Idol love is one thing all of my co-workers have in common. ;)

Very true about thinking positive! :) Hopefully the friends that I have who are going to the concert will give me a full report when they get back of Kevin's performance. :) And though I'd love to be there to hear first-hand the results of the LA Drama Critics' Circle awards, I think it was enough of a thrill for me that Bets was nominated... :D

Sydney's great!! :) Thanks so much for asking! :) She's as fuzzy and demanding as ever! ;) And we love her a lot! :)

Thanks for your comments, Hanna! Big *HUGS* to you!

Glad to hear Sydney's doing fine. Life wouldn't be the same without having a dog around your family. I had dogs all my life and I can't imagine it to be different.

Well you see one positive thing already. A few friends are going that means you'll get a full report. Not the same as being there yourself but still kind of helps doesn't it :-) Can't wait to hear if Bets going to win.

Have a wonderful day.

I hope these next few weeks aren't too long for you. *hugs* I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

I really didn't think Bucky would make it. I'm glad he did though, I like him. :) Good look w/the contest. :D Who are you favorites so far if you don't mind me asking? Mine are Taylor and Mandisa.

Missed you lots. Glad to see you around again. *hugs* :)

Thanks, Carrie! :) I'm just so thrilled that I made it to the weekend! Hopefully this year tax season won't be too bad... :)

Thanks for the luck with the contest! :) I'm SO happy my boss won, she's giving the money she won to her daughter for their "new puppy" fund! :) Isn't that the sweetest thing?

And my favorites are not necessarily who I think is going to win... I like Katharine's voice A LOT (I can hear the incredible voice training in it...) and I like Taylor's personality. :)

Thanks so much for your sweet comment, Carrie. I miss you around here too! :( *HUGS*

That black woman name Nikki or something, I'm sorry to see her go. She seemed to have a brilliant personality, a nice smile and all that. And as far as that black guy who they let go (dunno his name) he also sing good and seemed very enthusiastic. The one who stayed which supposed to have been let go...I dunno...wrong choice America!
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on March 11th, 2006 08:45 pm (UTC)
Kinnik does seem like a nice person, but I thought she might go because her song choice wasn't the best. I was sad to see Will go, because I loved his voice (really sounds like he had great vocal training...) but he too picked really bad songs. :( I think Gedeon can really sing, but I think his personality is what sent him home (I could be wrong...)

Katharine is still my favorite... I really love her voice. :) I like Taylor, I think he's a great guy and Mandisa sings wonderfully too. :)

Kinnik...that's the name, haha!! I thought something about the K name. Oh well, I get confuse with the black names sometime. So Will is the white guy right? I'm not too crazy about Will...dunno...too ballad for me and somehow when he sings, he bores me. LOL!!!

So Gedeon is the black guy, right? Hmm, why? Does he have a bad personality? Seems like he smiles a lot. And during that LAST one he sings again, he really GAVE IT ALL this time. Oh well.

So far, I like Kellie, Katharine, Mandisa, Elliott Yamin.... but none of 'em really captured my heart like me saying, "Oh yeah, if one of them wins I'm gonna buy their record." Not sure. I haven't seen any UNIQUE quality just yet.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on March 12th, 2006 01:56 am (UTC)
Gedeon seemed a little too sure of himself... I remember at the end of Hollywood week he gave the judges a LONG speech about the person who will be chosen as the American Idol has to have "IT" not just talent and he went on to explain (at length) why he thought he had "IT". Then when he left the room, Simon said he would've changed his answer to "no" if he had heard the speech before they decided... ;) I have to admit that he does have a nice voice, though - I'm not too sorry he's gone.
ex_angeldove677 on March 12th, 2006 02:33 am (UTC)
Oooooohhhh...I didn't know that. Have I known, he too will be put down by me. I don't like people who thinks "they're all that". Pride is good. Being arrogant is another story. It's not good to be arrogant, a lot of people will definitely become TURN OFF. I'm glad he's gone too!!
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on March 12th, 2006 02:39 am (UTC)
VERY true!! To me, it's the whole package! :)

Good luck on Phase II of the Idol competition! :)

Have a terrific weekend, and here's hoping the next few weeks don't drag! I know how frustrating that can be!
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on March 11th, 2006 08:46 pm (UTC)
Thanks so much, Karen!! :) I'm kinda hoping my boss wins again though - because it was so sweet when she told me the money that she won from the last contest was going into a "puppy fund" for her daughter. :)

Well, that is a good cause! :) I can understand why you'd want her to win! Speaking of dogs, do you ever watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show? Gill and I were watching it last night, and we were squealing the whole time. Some of the dogs are SO CUTE. :D
karmastyxkarmastyx on March 11th, 2006 07:34 am (UTC)
Hehehe I like Bucky (I don't vote though), I think he sings well, and is cute. :) I really enjoy this season so far. I totally like Chris, Bucky, Elliot, Taylor, and Mandisa. None of the other females are as good if you ask me.

It's nice to see you around... please have a realxing weekend! You deserve it.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on March 11th, 2006 08:50 pm (UTC)
I'm enjoying this season too. There seems to be a lot of talent this year. I'm partial to Katharine (and I like Lisa too - but that might be just because every song she sings is a broadway song!) ;) Taylor seems like the nicest guy and how could you not love his personality?

I've missed seeing you around here as well. Hope all is well. *HUGS*
Sabine: Mickisabine10 on March 11th, 2006 04:58 pm (UTC)
Congratulations for your second place and good luck with Phase II. :)

I'm hoping that the next weeks will not be so hard. Wish you a wonderful weekend, Sheri. Here it's already Saturday late afternoon, 6:00 p.m., and I'm going for the walk with Micki now.

Big *hugs* to you!
Sheri: Sydney - happyshutterbug93 on March 11th, 2006 08:51 pm (UTC)
Thanks so much, Sabine! I have to turn in my picks by Tuesday morning... and it's pretty hard! I don't know whether to go with who I WANT to win, or who I think is going to win...

Hope you have a nice walk with Micki! Please give her a big *HUG* for me!! *HUGS* to you, too! :)
