A nice weekend. :)
Mark & I went to see the sneak-preview of "Over the Hedge" this morning. :) Since Mark's company prints the promotional materials for Sony Pictures, he always brings home tickets to see free screenings of shows. :) And though we don't usually take advantage of it, we will go when there's a show that we're really interested in seeing (he saw the screening of "Rent" one weekend when I was in LA, and we saw the screening of Julie Ann's movie "Hitch" when it first came out.) :)

"Over the Hedge" was cute and we enjoyed it, but it didn't seem to have the strong emotional pull of some other animated movies we'd seen recently (i.e. "Ice Age") All in all, it was enjoyable and we were glad we went. :)

After the movie we headed to Kakaako Kitchen (where they make some of the best gourmet plate lunches around!) where I had some wonderful shoyu chicken and THE BEST bread pudding ever!! We'd gotten a GC for Ward Centre YEARS ago (I think it was in 2001) from Mark's parents that we never used. Recently when I was cleaning up, I found it and called to see if I could still use it... thankfully we could - so we used it for our lunch today. :) Yay for cleaning up, good things do happen when you clean the house. ;)

Tomorrow Mark & I are taking Sydney dog and heading to the big Pet Expo. It's a little bittersweet for us since we were originally supposed to meet Susan and Toby there as well. :( Because of the circumstances, we were thinking about not going this year, but since we've been taking Sydney to the Expo every year since she was a puppy, we didn't want to break our tradition. After the Expo, we're stopping by my Mom's to drop off her Mother's Day gift and spend some time with her and her neurotic dog, Yuki. :) Should be a fun day. :)

I'd better run... but, before I go, I wanted to wish those of you who are mothers on my friends' list, a very beautiful Mother's Day!! Big *HUGS* to you!!

Thanks, Laura! I will definitely try to take some pictures and hopefully I can persuade Sydney to make a post about it tomorrow (she hasn't posted since Christmas!) ;)

Oh the shoyu chicken at Kakaako kitchen is the best - so tender and juicy!! :) YUM!!

And the pet expo was a lot of fun!! I think Sydney had a great time! :D

We'll probably catch "hedge" when it comes out. Mainly 'cause Jennifer wants to see Shatner play the possum and Isabel wants candy. :)

It was a cute movie... not one of my absolute favorite animated shows, but cute nonetheless. Candy is always a great reason to go to the movies! :D

I worked on a couple banners for "Over the Hedge", only two if I remember correctly... anyway, some pics at the xpo would be nice :)

I once found money in a handbag what I wanted to give away. It's nice when good things happen while cleaning up, isn't it? :)

The bread pudding looks interesting. What is in it?

I'm happy that you had a nice Saturday. I wish you fun at the Expo. And yes, it would be very nice to see some pictures. :) Have a nice time with your Mom and please give my best wishes to her.

Big *hugs* to you, Sheri. :)

VERY nice, it makes cleaning all the more fun and exciting! ;)

I'm not too sure what bread pudding is made of, but I know there's bread, cinnamon, and vanilla bean sauce over it. It's so delicious!!

I've posted a few pictures of the Expo today... or Sydney did... She likes to hijack my computer every once in a while. ;)

Big *HUGS* to you, Sabine!
