Early July 4th celebrations, The Marvelous Wonderettes, and cute puppy photos. :)
I feel like I've been in constant state of "full" this entire weekend!! :P The BBQ last night at my co-worker Steve's house was really fun and the food there was just delicious! We got to spend some time with people from work that I hardly get to see (some reps in the field whose company I really enjoy) and we got a tour of his luxuriously beautiful and extremely HUGE house (I kid you not, just one room in his "basement" was actually bigger than my entire house!!) We had some wonderful homemade food and got to play with his adorable puppy. All in all it was a wonderful evening. :)

Tomorrow I have to work... which, to me, seems:
  1. Pointless
  2. Absurd
  3. Really, really cruel ;)
I'm only kidding, of course... since I do love my job and I am VERY thankful that I have July 4th off - since I know many people who don't. :(

Today Mark & I went to Marukai Wholesale Market and spent WAAAY too much money on food... A good lesson that we learned is never to go there hungry - we must've spent double what we usually do just because everything looked so good!! :P Next time we're eating lunch THEN going to the market! ;)

On an LA theatre note, got a wonderful email from Bets about "The Marvelous Wonderettes" opening this Fall at the El Portal Theatre. :) I'm SO excited for her because I know how much this show means to her!! I've been trying to see when it's possible to fly out there to see her in it. :D

And I've been pondering this all week... Since it's a pretty sure bet that Kevin won't be doing "Millie" at Musical Theatre West in late October (he chose to do MY WAY with Nick in Escondido), should I change my flight up there from late to early Oct to see "The Marvelous Wonderettes" over the Discover's Day weekend to conserve vacation days? Of course my fear with that is that someone wonderful like Misty will get cast as Millie (wouldn't she be perfect for the role??) and I'll end up kicking myself because I'll have missed it... I know it's not a big deal, but I've been pondering it for a while...

Finally, I'll leave you all with some fuzzy puppy photos from last night... Not of my fuzzy baby, but my co-worker's. :) Hope you've all had a nice weekend!! :)

At first Sunny was a little shy and didn't want to investigate the people at the party.

But then she warmed up to us and showed us her cute personality!

Cute dog.

Work tomorrow is indeed cruel.

She was so cute and looked so sad when we first got there. Thankfully she warmed up to us. :)

Haha! Having to work on the 4th is actually much more cruel - so I can't really complain. ;)
I'm so cool too bad I'm a loser: (dogs) jack and jillaudienceawaits on July 3rd, 2006 03:33 am (UTC)

Re: Darling Doggie!
YAY!! I may actually be able to see my first Rubicon show (aside from ttB -- I mean at the Rubicon!!) :) I've been meaning to ask you if you wanted to see a showing of "Anything Goes" with me on Sunday, July 16th? I've already got a ticket, but I'd drive up and pick you up from anywhere if you wanted to meet me for a show - I know the drive to Long Beach is a little far for you - I could pick you up from Burbank or anywhere really... Let me know if you're free. :)

That are great photos of your co-worker's dog. She looks cute, a wonderful dog and it seems that her name fits well to her. :)

I'm glad that you had a nice time at the BBQ and I hope you will have a nice holiday. :)

Big *hugs* to you, Sheri!

Thanks, Sabine!! And yes, Sunny is the perfect name for this puppy - very suited to her disposition! :D

It was so nice getting to spend some time with my co-workers that I don't get to see too often! :D Tomorrow we're going to head over to the in-laws for lunch so that should be nice too. :D

Big *HUGS* to you, Sabine!!

That is one ADORABLE dog. :)

So many people I know in the U.S. had to work today! That's ridiculous...you should just get a long weekend! We had Canada Day on Saturday, so we got today off, which was nice. :) I hope you have a good Fourth of July tomorrow!

Isn't she adorable!! She was so cute that Mark & I wanted to take her home with us! :)

Thanks so much, Karen!! :) I know I shouldn't really complain since I know many people in retail have to work tomorrow. :( But it seemed odd that we had to work when the stock market was closed by the time we got to work... it just seemed a little pointless. ;P

Hope you had a lovely day off today!! *HUGS*

Haha, I mean July.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on July 4th, 2006 06:37 am (UTC)
I simply cannot pass up either a cute puppy OR wonderful food at a BBQ... :P My two weaknesses, really. ;)

I'll be out there the weekend of July 14th. :D
