Oh my gosh...
...I am SOOOO bad at trying to keep up with LJ! I'm having such issues trying to keep up with my own life these days, that I've been absolutely horrendous at keeping up with all of yours. :( Tonight I'm going to try to go back and catch up on all of your entries - my apologies for having been a horrible LJ friend recently! :(

Work has been ridiculous - since my BIG boss has come back from vacation this week, he's been refreshed and energized and has promised to put MORE of his energy and much more intensity into his job this coming year... For those of you who don't know him, I really don't see how that's possible. He has to be THE MOST intense man I've ever met... :P

Thankfully, this Wednesday night, Mark & I leave for a much needed vacation to LA. :) We're really going there for a wedding, but we thought we'd try to squeeze as much theatre in as we possibly can while we're there. :)

Speaking of vacations, I revised our theatre schedule for our February trip. :)

Thursday, Feb 15th: Kevin & Bets' concert at the Carpenter's Center
Friday, Feb 16th: Possibly Phantom at Fullerton Civic Light Opera
Saturday, Feb 17th (mat): Possibly Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Ahmanson
Saturday, Feb 17th (eve): The Beastly Bombing at Steve Allen Theatre
Sunday, Feb 18th (1pm): Altar Boyz at the Wadsworth
Sunday, Feb 18th (4pm): Kimberly Akimbo at Victory Theatre in Burbank (I LOVE David Lindsay-Abaire!!)
Sunday, Feb 18th (7pm): Possibly Stage Struck at the Colony Theatre in Burbank

I'd read somewhere that Altar Boyz is 90 minutes without intermission - so we should be able to make it to the Victory theatre in time to see Kimberly Akimbo and the Colony is something like 8 minutes away so we should be able to make a 7pm curtain there... My favorite trips are when I can squeeze AS MUCH theatre in as possible. :)

In non-theatre news, Sydney's been licking at her right paw recently - so much that the fur is starting to fall off and the area is getting red and raw. :( Not really sure what we could do about it, we wrapped it in a small bandage hoping that she'll leave the area alone long enough for it to heal. It's been working, but Sydney's been extremely upset with us. :P She walks around the house constantly shaking her paw, trying to get the bandage off. :P I'm calling tomorrow morning to make a vet appointment for her next weekend.

Well, I'm off to try to catch up with all of your entries. Again, I apologize for not being around for the past week... I thank everyone for putting up with me!! Hope you've all been well!

Your boss comes back from vacation refreshed? I usually come back whup arse tired.

I wonder what's aggravated Sydney's foot? I hope it clears up soon!

Your trips always sound so fun -- I bet you're not refreshed after them tho'.

I usually come back whup arse tired.

Haha! Me too, actually! :)

Not too sure what happened to Sydney's foot. :( It does seem like all the licking she did made it worse, though. Hopefully I can get an appointment with the vet soon so we can have it looked at. :(

And no... never refreshed after a theatre trip... my soul is happy, though - but refreshed is probably the wrong word. :)

And oh my... you're still up? I'm SOO sorry! :( *HUGS*

I'm waiting for you to go to bed!

I'll probably fall asleep just before I need to call into work. :P

I'm actually really looking forward to it - especially after all the good things I've heard from my LJ friends. :)

I haven't decided yet on Altar Boyz. I'm also considering Camelot at the La Mirada, and I'm waiting for tickets for the Moorpark Melodrama to come up at Theatre on High Street. On our calendar is 13 this Sunday (I'm boardgaming on Saturday); "A Few Good Men" at REP East on 1/27, Defiance at the Playhouse on 2/10, and Mille in Simi Valley on 2/25.

We're seeing Camelot at La Mirada on the 12th. :) Also, I wanted to let you know that I just put up VMT's FULL season HERE. :) I've seen Beehive when they staged it last time and I loved it - it was a revue, but Nick turned it into something REALLY special.

Glad you get to have a much needed trip away from work and everyday life. That is soooo necessary, I know. :)

I hope Sydney's paw heals up, poor fuzzy dog. :(
Sheri: Sydney is...shutterbug93 on January 8th, 2007 04:26 pm (UTC)
Thanks, Andrea!! The trip couldn't have come at a better time, actually - I really needed to get away! :)

And thanks for the wishes for the fuzzy dog!! Hopefully I'll be able to get an appointment with the vet soon to check it out!

Keep us posted on the fuzzy dog!

Hey! I've been meaning to ask you about LA for awhile now! I'm heading there in about 2.5 weeks and am wondering what are some things you'd reccommend I do while there? I know you're there a lot so you seemed like a good person to ask!

(and yes, Altar Boyz is actually a little under 90 mins with no intermission so you should be fine!)

Hope you're doing well!
Sheri: Side Showshutterbug93 on January 9th, 2007 05:53 pm (UTC)
Sorry this reply is so late... been kind of caught up in the whole robbery thing... SORRY! What part of LA will you be staying in? LOTS of great stuff to do... not to mention, wonderful theatre to see! :)
Lauren and the Citylollynyc on January 9th, 2007 05:59 pm (UTC)
I JUST, literally five minutes ago on my lunch break, saw your post about that, I am SO SORRY! That is really awful. I hope you're able to recover your laptop with everything...if not, that really sucks, I would never be able to live without mine because my entire life is literally on it. :(

I think I'm just going to be staying by the airport because it's cheaper, but I'm staying with a friend in Hollywood Hills for one or two nights, and I really want to go to Santa Monica to the pier, and walk down to Venice Beach...and I'll probably spend some time in Hollywood.

Anyway, I am so sorry again!!

Yay for you seeing Abz! It is 90 minutes with no intermission :) and I am sure you will love it!

You're not a horrible LJ friend at all. You're just super-busy! :)

Have SO much fun in L.A. You definitely deserve a break, Sheri! Ooh, and I'm so excited that you're seeing Altar Boyz in February. I really hope that you love it! I've heard great things about the touring cast!

I really hope Sydney is ok. Sarah has sores in her mouth and she keeps scratching at them.. and then bleeding.. it's so sad. We tried to keep a sock on her for a while and then a dog boot, but she never wants to keep it on! :(

Still not too sue if we'll make the LA trip out there this week - I'll have to discuss with the hubby a bit more... but I am really excited about seeing Altar Boyz in February - especially after all the wonderful comments here. :)

Poor Sarah!! :( Sydney keeps gnawing off her bandage and will keep licking at it too... Maybe since Mark & I are not at work today we can take her to the vet this afternoon.

Sounds like a super trip! Yes, Altar Boyz is 90 minutes and it will be as much fun as you can have in the theatre - enjoy!

Oh, Altar Boyz is phenomenal! Seriously, be prepared to laugh your derriere off! The singing, dancing, and acting are all great, too, of course. It's definitely worth going to. And this from a person who originally didn't want to see it because I thought it would poke too much fun at the church (I work at my church). Enjoy! :)
