LA trip, confirmed! :)
Finally got my theatre schedule set for LA in February. If anyone is in the area and would like to meet up for a show, I'd LOVE to see you!!

Thursday, February 12th (eve) 8:00pm: Pippin @ Mark Taper Forum
Friday, February 13th (eve) 8:00pm: The Producers @ Musical Theatre West
Saturday, February 14th (mat) 2:00pm: Minsky's @ Ahmanson Theatre
Saturday, February 14th (eve) 8:00pm: Pippin @ Mark Taper Forum
Sunday, February 15th (mat) 1:00pm - 3:00pm: Pippin @ Mark Taper Forum
Sunday, February 15th (eve) 4:30pm - 6pm: A Year With Frog & Toad @ SCR
Sunday, February 15th (eve) 7:30pm: Noises Off @ SCR

I can't believe I'm trying to squeeze three shows in on Sunday,... but it looks like it's possible if the traffic isn't too bad. Hopefully I can make it from the Taper to SCR in an hour... :)

I'm pretty excited to see Pippin since it'll be my first time actually seeing Anthony on stage!! :) It's been SOOOO long since I've seen him - I think the last time was in October of 2007! I'm also very excited about seeing The Producers at MTW... Bets said that it'll be amazing and usually anything directed by Steve is!

Today I'm taking it easy, working on adding photos to the Musical Theatre Guild site and enjoying some together time with Mark & Cooper. :) It seems that Cooper grew completely out of his puppy stage while Mark & I were in NYC. His bark is A LOT lower and he got so big and fluffy in the 4 days that we were gone... It's almost hard to believe that we left last week with a puppy and came home to a BIG dog! ;)

And finally,... this coming weekend, Mark & I are going to be spending the weekend at the Grand Wailea in Maui for work. It's sort of a thank you from BIG boss for 2008. It should be nice and relaxing for us and we're going to pick up some information from them because we were tossing around the idea of doing a vow renewal there sometime in the near future... :) We'll see. :)

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. I'm off to do more webwork and hug my fuzzy big dog! :)

WOW! You got a full trip while you're in LA!

OOOOH! Congrats! The Grand Wailea is gorgeous! I stayed there several years ago!

Thanks for your comment, Rayna! Hopefully I can make it to all the shows on Sunday, I'm cutting it a little close between Pippin and Frog & Toad, but we'll see. :)

I've never been to the Grand Wailea and neither has Mark so we're really looking forward to it! :)

See, I friended you, too! :-) Your trip sounds so exciting! I am going to LA the weekend of March 13-15 to see Pippin twice. The *instant* I heard Ty Giordano had been cast in the lead, I booked tickets. I will look forward to your trip report, so I know what to expect. :-)

Thanks for friending me! And YAY for you seeing it on closing weekend! :) I will definitely let you know what I thought of the show - I'm really excited to see it.

Why are you seeing Pippin 3x

Deaf West Theatre and Center Theatre Group always put together such beautiful shows - the combination of singing and signing is just gorgeous (I saw Sleeping Beauty Wakes there a couple of years ago) Sometimes just seeing it once isn't enough to fully get the entire experience. ;) And I want to see Anthony - I have never seen him on stage and that will be a treat. :D

One of the few weekends we haven't scheduled theatre. I'm surprised you didn't comment on my review of "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" -- Julie was great in it, and you would have enjoyed it quite a bit.

We thought about seeing "Pippin", but it would be our third version (Reprise, East-West), and I just couldn't see it. We saw "Year with Frog and Toad" at ICT a while back... and "Noises Off" quite a few times. I'm surprised you're not working in "Stormy Weather" at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Sorry we'll missing seeing you, but hope the trip goes well.

Sorry I won't get to see you on my trip out there, Daniel! I did read your review, but I think I was in the midst of my NYC trip at the time. Glad you enjoyed it. I love Leslie and Julie - they're both so talented.

The thing that's completely different about this Pippin is the use of sign language, singing, and choreography to tell the story. Very similar to Sleeping Beauty Wakes and Big River no matter how many times you see a certain production, it's entirely different when Deaf West and CTG team up - their productions are SOOOO visually stunning!

Frog & Toad I want to see because Nick's directing it - and I can't go the whole year without seeing one of his productions. ;) And Stormy Weather sadly didn't fit into my travel plans this time - though I love Leslie Uggams.

I would LOVE to, Linda, but sadly I'm flying in that afternoon and may not have time to even check into my hotel before making it to the show. It's been FOREVER since I've seen you, maybe a coffee or something afterward?
