Clearly, I'm insane.
I found a great airfare to LA, a hotel room on Priceline for $40, and a car rental for $15... So I did it, I booked another flight for a day to see Pippin for the last time. Crazy? Maybe... But so many times for me, I'd wished I had just seen a show one more time (as was the case with Sleeping Beauty Wakes) and sadly I know that once it's gone,... it's gone forever. For something SO special, why not try to see it as many times as I possibly can? I know that if this ever moves to any other venue, the cast that I saw here will not be intact, and frankly, that's one of the things that makes it so amazing, at least, for me.

So, my question to all my LA theatre friends is... Anyone interested in seeing Pippin with me on the 7th of March? There are two shows, 2:30pm and 8:00pm and I'd LOVE to see anyone in the area at either show!

That being said, the crazy part of this whole thing is that my next few weeks are going to be absolutely INSANE... I have a one day trip to the Big Island coming up next weekend to visit my Grandma for her 97th birthday, then the next week, I'm doing this crazy one day trip to see Pippin, then two weeks after that is my mini soap cruise... Then thankfully, nothing for quite a few weeks until NYC in mid April...

On another, less insane note, last night Mark & I went to Vino for a surprise birthday party for one of our friends. He was sooo depressed about turning 30... Ha! I can't even remember 30! :P And because he works in our office and his girlfriend (the person planning it) also works with us it was incredible that everyone could keep the party a surprise. Amazingly he knew nothing about it before he walked in and nearly collapsed when he saw us all there... It was a lot of fun, but I think I gained at least 10 lbs. :P

Finally, I did some cleaning up and sorting of my old playbills this morning and came back in the room to find a cute, fuzzy sheltie in my playbill box...

Seems as though Cooper-dog is back to his old self again after his surgery this past week. :)

I'm off to spend more time with the fuzzy puppy and my dear hubby! :)

Squee! What a cute Cooper-puppy! :)

I'm so jealous you get to see Pippin again! We did that for our high school spring musical during my senior year. I heart Pippin. :)

Awww, thanks! :)

At first, it took me a while to get in to the show, but once I did, I couldn't get the music out of my head! And this cast and production is INCREDIBLE!

We've got magic to do, just for you! :) I love the soundtrack.

I think I have to buy it... I've seriously been addicted to the music. Hearing Michael Arden sing "Morning Glow" was just amazing... Too bad there isn't a recording of this cast available. :(

Good for you for going again! I doubt you'll regret it. If you had gone the following week, you'd be going the same weekend as me. Have a great time! :-)

P.S. I love your icon!

Oh my, Cooper really is getting big! And look at that face! You can tell he's having fun!

As for your trip, you work really hard & deserve to take time off for fun things. Don't beat yourself up for being good to yourself.

Being a boy myself.. and being a boy WITH a boy... let me tell ya, mid-life crisis hits us HARD.. 30 was tough. 40 was tough... I am assuming that 50 will be a piece of cake :p All my male friends all felt the same sense of 'more doors closing than opening'... I am just glad I didn't buy a sports car and have an affair. lol. Gil would KILL me if I bought a sports car. :)

I wish I could join you in LA.. have a great show!

I'm turning 40 next year so I can totally understand what you're saying! Though I really did enjoy my thirties and I'm sure I'll equally enjoy my forties. :)

Thanks so much!! HUGS!

If I have choices between "not going and regret it" and "going and regret it (after the credit card bill comes in)" I certainly choose the latter!

Have a wonderful time! Take a lot of pic!

Awww, Smitha, you are so sweet! Thanks for your comment! :)

And Cooper is getting SO big everyday! I hardly recognized him when Mark & I came home from NYC in Jan! :D
there would never be anyone for me but you: owenjessnic85 on February 22nd, 2009 05:37 am (UTC)
Whoa!! Cooper has gotten SO big! But cuter than ever, too!!! :)

And I don't think you're crazy at all... we've made those impulsive decisions many times and it is usually so worth it. Hope you have a great time!! And I can't believe the cruise is coming up so soon... can't wait to see you again!

Cooper is SUCH a big dog, I can barely believe he was as small as he was just a couple of months ago!

I just couldn't let Pippin end without seeing it again... once in a while a truly special show comes along that I can't let go and this one is it for me right now...

Can't wait to see you on the cruise!

Cooper is so cute in that box! :)

Seems as though Cooper is growing too! BTW, I totally understand you going for that one last chance to see the show. I'd do the same if I could!
