The wonderful Pet Expo :)
Just got back from taking Sydney to the annual Pet Expo at the Blaisdell Center. She was great and seemed to take all the other dogs around her in stride. There were tons of free samples of doggie snacks (which she loved!) and lots of booths selling everything from doggie kimonos (I kid you not!) to portrait sessions (by my friend Allen Martin :)).

While we were there we ran into one of my close friends from high school who I haven't seen in ages. :) She was there with her Jack Russell Terrier, Mele (as in Mele Kalikimaka - since she got her for Christmas one year). :) It was really nice to see her and catch up on what's been happening in our lives since I really haven't seen her since my wedding (and it was nice to introduce Sydney to Mele). :)

While we were there, I decided to get a drawing done of Sydney at a caricature booth they had there (I'm such a sucker for things like this!). :) And I think it turned out wonderful - it looks just like her!

I like that the artist captured her gentle demeanor too!

Sydney must be terribly worn out from all the excitement. She's fast asleep under my desk as I'm typing this. I think this morning was just too much excitement for her! :)

And on a quick theatre note before I run off to study - this would be wonderful if it were true! :D This would SO make up for my cancelled NYC trip that I was supposed to have gone on this month! *crosses fingers as I type*

Back to studying - I hope you're all having a nice weekend. :)

It's a lot of fun! :) Mark & I used to try to go every year, but being that it's always on Mother's Day weekend makes it a little hard for us. There used to be many more display tables, but it seems to have gotten smaller this year. :P

It's a really great way to see a lot of really cute dogs. :) And Sydney always seems to enjoy herself. ;)

I love the Sydney sketch! =) Sounds like you had a very nice study break.

Thanks! :) It was just really nice to get out of the house after being cooped up here for the past two days (I was getting restless!) ;)

Hope your weekend is going well. :)

that is a nice sketch of Sydney!!

I went to a pet expo with a friend three years ago I think...just to see other people's pets! he he he... it was so much fun!

Thanks Smitha! :) I think the hardest part was getting her to sit still while the artist drew her. ;)

And we love the Pet Expo. I remember going there in the past and buying doggie ice cream, and this kit to make a paw print paperweight (which I didn't see this year...Drat!) It's always so much fun, though. :)

Hope your studying is going well... I think my brain is fried. :P

That is a nice sketch of Sydney. Sounds like the two of you had tons of fun today!

Thanks Laura! :) It was so much fun! I think that Brock would've really enjoyed himself there. ;) Every table that we went to Sydney got complimented, pet, AND a free treat! :) I think she must've wondered what the big occasion was. :)

That is a good drawing of Sydney, I like it very much. It sounds like that you had a nice time. :) Wish you a nice Sunday, Sheri. :)

Thanks Sabine. :) Hope you're having a nice weekend as well. I think Lauser would've had a lot of fun at the Pet Expo too! :)

That reminds me. I need to send you a copy of the drawing I did of Sydney. :) That drawing is good though. Better than what I did. I'm glad you all had a nice day. :)

WE had a great time (and hopefully Sydney did too!) :) And BTW, I like the drawing you did of Sydney much more. :)

That drawing is so cute
Sheri: Sydney - happyshutterbug93 on May 9th, 2004 09:54 am (UTC)
Thanks Claudia! :) The hardest part was getting her to sit still for the 10 minutes or so that it took the artist to draw this ;)

Love the sketch and glad you all had fun.

it's gonna happen. I can feel it. "Assassins" is good enough and strong enough for them to extend the run. if it's not true yet, it will be soon. mmmm, off to write my letter to beg them to extend the show so you can see it. :)

Yay! Thanks for your positive thoughts about it, Lauren. :) Hopefully it'll be the case. I know the actors are contracted until the 4th of July and many of them have plans to be in other things after that so I worry - Marc Kudisch in LA for ALNM concert, Anne L Nathan back in "Millie"... And Broadway.Com is not really one for accuracy - though they almost always end up with a correct story in the end. :) I'm just hoping it'll extend! :) And dammit, I need an "Assassins" icon. ;) Thanks for your positive thoughts about it, though! :)
