Gift Registries...
...are the most wonderful thing! For some reason, they aren't too common in Hawaii (I never registered when Mark & I got married - I barely remember if I knew that such a thing existed). I think it's probably because everyone usually gives monetary wedding gifts here - and rarely do couples feel the need to have to register.

We were really at a loss for what to buy Susan & Fredrick for their "family couple" shower tomorrow. In all the previous bridal showers that I've attended, I would buy lingerie or scrapbook/memory book items for wedding photos or something like that. But this is the first time that we're going to a couple shower and we had no idea what to buy! (And if it were up to Mark, he'd buy them a Playstation2 :P...)

Macy's Gift Registry to the rescue! :) It was great feeling to buy something that we knew they'd love. :) It was also really interesting because we could see which items were picked by Susan and which ones were probably picked by Fredrick. ;) As we went looking around Mark would say, "This has got to be another Fredrick choice!" ;)

In other news, our NYC plans are coming together quite well. :) Mark and I may meet up with gigglets and her hubby, Kevin that weekend for "Millie" - which would be wonderful! :) I purchased our "Assassins" tickets today (woo hoo!), but still can't decide between "Fiddler" and "Wonderful Town"...

I just looked at the date earlier and realized that it's the one year anniversary of the day Julie Ann's site went live. :) I can't believe that SO MUCH has happened for her in a year's time! I remember her email when she first saw the site that said, "I don't think I have a fan following like Kevin does." How cute is she? :) On the day that "Line of Fire" premiered her site received over 900 hits... I think she grossly underestimates her popularity! I just couldn't be happier for all her success this past year! :)

And for some reason I haven't been sleeping too well lately... I've had small battles with insomnia each night and then I wake up waaay to early and can't fall back asleep. Wonder why, though since all my test stress is done and I really haven't felt this stress free in months. :P

I'll take a Playstation 2! ;-) I only have a Gamecube right now. I won't buy a Ps2 till it gets cheap. *L*

Haha! It was actually my idea to get them that - but I was joking and Mark thought it was a great idea... I should know better than to joke with that boy about electronics. ;)

And the price of the PS2 just went down to $147 -- or so Mark says. ;)

Can he buy me a PS2? ;-) I was waiting for it to go down to $99, even though $150 isn't that bad. *L*

It's not old news at all. :) In fact, Mark & I just decided on the spur of the moment yesterday. Besides you've been studying... When do you find out how you did on your exam? :)
Smithasmittenbyu on May 16th, 2004 06:39 pm (UTC)
That is true! :D And I was thinking it was not enough time spent, and looking back I realise I did put in a lot of time!

We should know in about two weeks or so. All depends on how fast our professor grades our exams.

I haven't been sleeping good either but I know why I'm not. Maybe you need a new matris(SP)?

You know, that may help my sleep patterns. :) I've always had insomnia when I was growing up - seemed to disappear in college though - in school, all I wanted to do was sleep! ;D

Hope that you're able to get some rest too!

Gift registries are great. I find enjoyment in looking up random registries. :) When we married we really only registered for our everyday china and flatware. The rest of the stuff was just kind of random. (We had registered for "stuff" at Target, but shortly after all the inventory changed and then didn't have anything we registered for.)

They are great! I wish we had known about the joys of it when Mark & I got married. :) And Macy's has a little computer where you can punch in the person's name and print out their list - I told Mark that I didn't even notice it there by the elevators before! ;)

Oh yeah, they are great! A lot of stores have them now. :) You can even look at them online and print them out at home. :)

I think it would be SO weird to go to a couple shower. I dont think Ive ever even heard of that. At least they were registered so it was easier picking a gift.

Hope your sleep pattern gets back on track very soon!

I know! I've never been to one before! My first thought was - I guess no lingerie because it's a "family" shower too. ;) But yay for gift registries! :)

I hope that all is well with you. Please take care!

Gift Registries are really a good idea. My sister and husband did it when they got married and it was very helpful. I'm glad to hear that your NYC plans are coming together quiet well. :)

Hope you will find back to a better sleep, soon and that you had a nice Sunday. *Hugs*

I wish I had known more about it when I got married - it seems like a wonderful concept. :)

Thanks Sabine. I think I slept a little better last night - at least, I woke up later. :) I hope you had a nice Sunday too. *HUGS*

I got my Assassins tix! I'm SO happy! :D Unfortunately, it didn't extend. :( But I changed my NYC trip plans and I'm going up with Mark on Millie's closing weekend.

And I heard about the Drama Desk Awards! Yay for them!! :)

the important thing is that you're getting to see the show. that's way cool. so you'll be up this way the third weekend in June? hmmm....I may pop into the City on that Saturday to say hello, if that's the case. I'll be home for Father's Day and wouldn't mind jetting into the City for a little bit. I'm most excited that it's just a few more days until I see "Sight Unseen" in New York. the show opens a few days before so I hope all the reviews are glowing and that the show rocks.
