My brave hubby...
...just conquered a swarm of mega huge flying cockroaches to get me my bottled water from my car. What a sweetie he is! For some reason (probably all the humidity) the cockroaches have been collecting in our garage every night... Blech! The only thing I hate more than the flying cockroaches we have here is spiders. Ick! :P If I ever see those in our house, I'm moving back to Pearl City. :P

My love/hate relationship with Priceline continues... I can't seem to get a reasonable rate on a hotel in Manhattan for June (I know I shouldn't be too surprised about that.) :P I'm going to try quikbook, hotels.com (which is a real rip-off, IMO), and cheap tickets before I give up and pay the standard (way-too-expensive-for-me) rate the hotel's website wants me to pay... :P Anyone else know of any other good hotel discount websites?

And recently I seem to have grown a semi-addiction to TV. Unfortunately, not to worthwhile TV that I wouldn't mind writing about (West Wing - which I adore but haven't seen in ages, or Joan of Arcadia - which I love because of Amber), but mindless trash that I'm too ashamed to admit that I watch. :P Last night I spent an hour watching a VH-1 special on celebrity cradle robbers... Blech! :P It was only one hour, but it was very mind-numbing...

As for my NYC show plans - I'm still pretty undecided on whether to see "Caroline, or Change", "Wonderful Town", or "Fiddler" this June. I'm kind of leaning toward "Caroline, or Change" and "Wonderful Town" - but I'm really not too sure. (And yes, we're planning on seeing "Millie" at least twice that weekend) :)

And lastly our big work "Taxbusters" party is coming up this Saturday so Mark & I will be able to lounge around a beautiful resort for the weekend. :) Definitely one of the perks for working at my job. :)

I'm off to hunt down a reasonable hotel for NY. :) Hope you all have a nice evening! :)

Thanks Carrie. :) Hopefully Mark & I will be able to find a reasonable place to stay. :)

Thanks Smitha! :)

And I love the beaches out at Ko Olina too! :) They just seemed cleaner for some reason. Before we moved to Ewa, Mark & I used to go to the beach all the time out there. Now that we live right next door, we hardly go - go figure! ;)

I'll trade your swarming cockroaches for my swarming cicadas. wait, nevermind that. at least the cicadas will be gone in a couple of weeks. roaches stay and stay and stay. sorry for not being more helpful.

good luck with the NYC planning! yes, the City as it gets warmer gets more and more tourists, so it's going to be harder to find reasonably priced hotels. why not splurge and stay at the Plaza? ;)

Yikes! SOunds like you have it bad out there too! :P The roaches here only come out when it's humid, so at least that's a good thing. I just have to pray for better weather! :)

The Plaza sounds SO lovely, but unfortunately I think the trip itself might be the only splurge that we can afford. ;) It really doesn't matter too much where we stay (as long as the neighborhood is good) We're usually out seeing shows most of the time anyway. :) I should actually be paying rent at the Marquis - for the amount of time that I'm in there! ;)

Flying cockroaches? Ugh, no thank you. I had a huge sewer roach in my bathroom sink once in AZ. I would not go into the bathroom until my dad came over to remove it. Cockroaches in general are creepy thingies!

Big, gigantic ones that look like B-52 bombers! I never knew that roaches looked so tiny on the mainland having grown up with ours here. ;) We definitely breed them big out here! :P Must be the tropical climate! But they are really creepy! Blech! :P

Yeah... same thing with the bugs in the desert. My mom was scared of a cricket that was in her house... in the desert, crickets can get big. A lot of bugs get HUGE in the desert.

I don't like flying/jumping bug things.
