Wow - it's been a while...
...I've been around, but honestly all I've had the energy to do when I've come home from work lately is curl up with the fuzzy dog and sleep. :P In part, I think it had to do with the awful flu/cold virus that was making its way around our office last week. I felt like I was coming down with it on Tuesday, but thankfully it seems to have gone away as the week progressed.

Delta sent me a letter in response to my complaint that I wrote a few weeks ago. I've never written in to complain about anything before, but this time I felt it was extremely unfair and had to say something. The letter was very nice and apologetic, but I still think I'm going to have to change my airline of choice after this NYC trip. :P

I'm finally going to get my hair done tomorrow. :) It took several months, Susan's wedding, and seeing my hairstylist at the mall last weekend to prompt me to make an appointment. I'm a little odd in that going to get my hair cut / highlighted is something I completely dread... It's a waste of time to me - since I'm not one who really puts an emphasis on appearance. The only reason I'm really going is because I promised Susan I wouldn't have dark roots for her wedding. :)

Speaking of which, poor Susan - her friend who was supposed to do our make up and hair for her wedding canceled out at the last minute. :( Luckily, Susan is very calm about the whole thing and is already trying to make contingency plans (i.e. buying a fall to wear...) This, of course, also means that I'll have to do my own make up - and frankly, that worries me. :P I never wear make up so the thought of having to apply my own make up is rather scary. ;) I think Susan will have to worry about more than my dark roots at her wedding. ;)

Sleep sounds good to me. :D

I'm sure you're make up will look just fine. :)

My weird sleep patterns continue. :P I actually took a nap yesterday and didn't wake up until now (2am). Wonder why? :P

And thanks for your kind words about the make up, hopefully I'll be able to look semi-decent. ;)

I desperately need to do something with my hair, too, but I don't know what. I've thought about doing the highlights route again, but don't know if I want to commit to that since you have to keep touching them up.

How horrible that the makeup/hair person canceled out!
Sheri: Sherishutterbug93 on June 6th, 2004 05:22 am (UTC)
That's the thing about highlights (or at least the heavy highlights that I have) they're so time consuming to maintain. :P I used to have my hair completely dyed several years ago, but that was even higher maintenance. :P

That's really horrible that her friend would cancel on her at the last minute. :( I'm hoping that everything else goes smoothly for her in this wedding - it's a good thing she has such a laid back personality. :)

BTW, I look nothing like my icon anymore since my hair is waaaay lighter than that now. ;)

:) I also need to do something with my hair... I don't have a clue what, but I am so bad when it comes to fussy styles. I am a "wash and wear" kind of girl... and I have so much trouble applying make-up too. (I rarely wear it!)

I am sure you will look great though!

So am I! :) I'm a wash and wear person when it comes to my hair too! I usually can't be bothered with styling my hair in the morning and I never wear make up. :P

Hopefully I'll be able to look semi-decent for Susan's wedding though - at least I won't have to worry about feeling overly made up on that day - since I'll be doing it myself. :)

I don't even use a blowdryer most of the time. I have one, but whenever I turn it on, it has that "unused hot, dusty" smell to it. (That's how often it gets used.) But the good thing is, my hair is healthy because it's not full of styling junk and hair dryer heat! :)

At least, with you doing your own make-up, you will still look like you. Sometimes I see girls who had their make up done and it no longer looks like them. I would want to look like me... but better. :)

Thanks so much for your kind words. :) I hope that's all she has to worry about for her wedding. Luckily, she's taking it well. I know that if it was me, I'd be panicking. :P

Re: Delta
Ahhh so did I! I was like whoa you sent a complaint list to Delta Burke? Why didn't *I* think of that. ;)

Re: Delta
Haha! :) When my husband read my journal he thought the same thing too - even though he knew about my complaint letter to the airlines. He said that for a second he thought I was talking about Delta Burke too. :) Ooops! ;) That's too funny! :D

Oh well, make up - I never did it but I'm sure you will do it very well.

Curl up with the fuzzy dog and sleep sound good to me. :) Glad to hear that you did not catch the flu/cold virus.

Wish you a nice weekend. *Hugs* :)

PS: Is it only my computer what is changing words like e. g. "dog" into a link or is your computer doing the same things? At any case, it is odd.
Sheri: Sherishutterbug93 on June 6th, 2004 05:46 am (UTC)
I was never really a make up person... which is probably why everyone who sees me thinks that I'm younger than I am. I never really bothered with it all that much (only when I'm going somewhere special do I even attempt to put something on my face!) ;) Hopefully it'll look okay for the wedding. :)

And I'm so glad I didn't catch whatever it was that was going around - the next few weeks are incredibly busy with Susan's wedding and my NYC trip - I can't afford to get sick! :P

My computer doesn't seem to change those words into links... That is rather odd...

And I have to say that I love your new icon! It looks just like you with your red hair! :D Have a nice Sunday, Sabine! :)

How awful to be let down like that before a wedding, but I'm sure you'll still all manage to look lovely on the day.
Sheri: Sydney - couchshutterbug93 on June 6th, 2004 05:49 am (UTC)
That was awful, especially since the make up person was her friend. :P Luckily Susan is very easy going and took it really well - I, on the other hand, would be panicking if it happened to me. :P

I'm sure you'll do fine with your make up. Just remember waterproof mascara!!! :)
Sheri: Stephanie & Kate Monstershutterbug93 on June 6th, 2004 05:51 am (UTC)
Ah yes! Waterproof mascara is a must! :) I'm so excited for Susan, in fact, I think I'm more excited about her wedding than she is. ;)

I can understand nervousness going to a hairstylist and making a change. You can only hide under a hat so long! gah... but it will be worth it..amazing what a few changes can do! :)

I have seen you at dress-up dinner events, and you have always looked very nice. No worries. Some women are just lucky with not much need for make-up! El Natural with a bit of mascara, foundation, powder and lipstick is good enough! :)
Sheri: Side Showshutterbug93 on June 6th, 2004 12:02 pm (UTC)
Ah, you are just too sweet, Smitha! Thanks for the sweet comments, but I still worry about how I'll look for Susan's wedding - I want to look, at least decent. :)
