It's 3:30am...
...and I've already had a full night's sleep - what's up with that? :P I think I fell asleep somewhere between 5:30 and 6pm last night and didn't get up until 2am this morning. Apparently my sleep patterns have not improved since last week. :P

I got my hair done yesterday and I've been feeling a little self conscious. The highlights are A LOT lighter than I'm used to and now I look nothing like that cartoon icon I made a few days ago. :P I think I need to make another one with lighter hair. ;)

Susan's "bridal shower" lunch is this afternoon. It'll be completely informal - just a couple of us (her closest friends) will be having lunch in town and giving more "bridal" shower gifts than her previous family shower. We're going to L'Uraku and I think it'll be a lot of fun - not to mention the food there is excellent. :)

Speaking of food - the one horrible thing about being on a diet (Mark calls it "grazing" since he says I'm only eating grass...) is that everywhere I go I constantly crave unhealthy food. :P Yesterday when I was in the mall getting my hair done, I passed by the Cookie Corner. There was a chocolate-dipped peanut butter cookie that was screaming out my name... Luckily, I was strong enough not to listen to it. :) And as I was driving home, there seemed to be an unexplainable force that kept trying to pull me toward the California Pizza Kitchen in the far end of the mall... :P Dieting is completely depressing sometimes. :P

And tonight is the Tony Awards!! :D I feel a little far removed from it since the results will be known FAR in advance before our local station here will even start the telecast (I hate my "time zone challenged" state sometimes!) This year I want to try to be good and stay away from message boards and the internet so I can be surprised when I see the show... But, really - who am I kidding? As soon as 2pm rolls around here, I'll be refreshing ATC constantly to find out the winners. :P I'm so pathetic! :P

Hope you all have a nice day - I'm off to wrap Susan's shower gift. :)

That's sooo awesome that you were able to ignore the cookie and the California Pizza Kitchen callng your name. Oh, that would have been so hard to do.

Have an awesome time at the bridal shower this afternoon... sounds like fun. (I love informal things like that.)

I bet your hair looks great!

And... stay away from the spoilers!!! Although, just knowing who gets the award isn't as fun as seeing them accept it. :)

I was really surprised since I'm such a "binge" eater - I usually give in to all my cravings (which probably explains my weight problem!) :P

And I thought it would be nicer just to have an informal lunch - Susan's not really one for formal things and since her wedding is so small, I thought a tiny lunch would be perfect. :)

And ah, thanks for your sweet comments about my hair, but I'm still at the stage where I'm not used to it yet - it usually takes me a few days to get over my "It's so light!" phase, then I okay with it. ;)

True enough about the awards! I know I won't be able to stay away from the spoilers today - but seeing their acceptance speeches (and seeing the live performances) will be enough for me to wait anxiously for the telecast, anyway. :)

I am a binge eater too... and if one cookie is good... 5 is even better!! :)

You inspired me to eat healthy though... so we bought healthy foodies at the store today. I am so excited!

Enjoy the awards show!!

The next time that you go in, ask for lowlights instead of highlights. It will balance your hair out and help take care of the roots.

Chocolate and peanut butter together are the world's best combination! I'm eating peanut butter M&M's right now!

I've never heard of lowlights... But anything that'll help me NOT have to maintain my hair every six weeks will be a blessing. My hairstylist always comments on how long it is between visits... I'm so terrible about maintaining my hair! :P

I LOVE chocolate and peanut butter together! Reese's peanut butter cups, peanut butter M&M's... Amanda, you're making me hungry again! ;)

Supposedly, you're supposed to get lowlights instead of highlights every fourth time or so. It keeps you from going totally blond and balances your hair out so the next time you get highlights, it won't make your hair turn all one color!

I've got to ask, are you all making these cartoon icons yourselves or have you found someone who makes them?

You can make your own at this site:

Right, off to go play with cartoons.

Thanks Amanda! I'll have to remember that the next time I go in to get my hair done! :)

Yes, such things can scream and esp. if you are on a diet. :) Glad to hear that you were strong enough to ignore it - I made the experience that, if you take one, the others even scream louder. :D

Wish you a nice time at Susan's "bridal shower" lunch.

Haha! I was afraid that if I listened to that cookie, I might have to listen to some of the others - wouldn't want them to feel like I was ignoring anyone... ;)

Hope you had a wonderful day, Sabine! :) *HUGS*
