The one good thing...
...about working when no one else in the state seems to be (just why is it again that don't we get state holidays anymore???) is that my usual hour and a half commute is cut down to a little under an hour. Huh, some consolation. :(

Did I mention recently? I hate my job...

I have to work too!! And I hate my job too!! *sigh*
Although my commute isn't as bad as yours, I work in Waikiki and live like 5 minutes away, I'm grateful I don't have to sit through traffic anymore because I used to live in Kapolei.

Hey I noticed you majored in photography? Ever think about getting back into it as a career? I'm an art major as well, graphic arts with a emphasis in photography. Still going to school for it though.

You had to work today too? At least I'm not the only one who didn't get Kuhio Day off. :) And I can sympathize with you since Kapolei is a much worse commute than Ewa - but you're certainly lucky now -five minutes to work would be heaven! :)

Yeah, I majored in Photography, but I think, realistically, I've been out of the photography loop for so long that I rarely think about getting back into it anymore. It's really sort of sad that all that money went to waste and all my photography degree has prepared me to do is teach a "How To Take Good Pictures" Jaycee seminar every year... :( AND has made me the official family gathering photographer... :( Just sad, really...

My husband is a graphic designer and I think it's a great field if you can get your foot in the door somewhere here - unfortunately a lot of the good art based jobs are on the mainland. :( I still love photography, though - and once I have the energy, I want to dust off my Hassey and start taking pictures again. :)

Yes, sometimes I think that many people here also have not to work at the moment. But I've to work, too. And, unfortunately, my work is still boring, because we've only a little to do just now.

Oh, you do hate your work? I'm sorry to hear that - sending good thoughts and *hugs* your way.

I'm sorry to hear that things are so slow at your working place - though I'm happy for you that your vacation is near so at least you have something nice to look forward to. :)

And I do hate my job, but not the people I work with. I've been working for my boss for 8 years now and he and I know each other so well, I could finish his sentences. We've become good friends over the years and I think if it wasn't for him, I would've quit my job a long time ago. But yeah, I really hate what I do...

Big ::Hugs:: to you and Lauser! :)
