My class :)
Class was wonderful today, even though I was the only one who showed up for the second half. :P I'd forgotten how exhilarating it could be to do something creative for a change. At the bank, I'd gotten so used to working with numbers and figures (which is totally NOT me at all! - I'm the one who took Logic in college to get out of having to take college math!) :P that I'd forgotten how wonderful it was to be able to do something that I actually love. :)

In keeping with all my excitement this morning, I finally made a commitment to take my CIW web exams. I'd been going back and forth on whether or not I should take it, but since it's included with my tuition, I really don't have anything to lose. I also ended up spending a bunch of money on two books from Amazon.Com to help me prepare for them. I have my first exam scheduled for September 18th! :O It's been about eight months since I've taken the classes that will be covered on the first exam and I'm afraid that I've forgotten everything and I'll have to start studying from scratch. :P

On a completely different note, Mark & I are entering week 4 of our diet & exercise plan. :) Just yesterday we moved up to the next higher intensity work out segment and boy were we exhausted! :P The nice thing is that today we were both able to tell the huge difference in our energy levels. :) What I really love about this plan is that it isn't a fad diet or an "easy way" to lose weight (which would only cause us to gain it all back right away). It's A LOT of hard work and discipline, and it's more of a lifestyle change than a diet. :) With just two weeks to go, I have a good feeling that we'll actually make it through to the end. :)

And on a theatre note: YAY! Happy Birthday to "Avenue Q!" :) *SIGH* I love John Tartaglia! And Stephanie looks so great in the photo! :)

Oooh what classes are you taking from CTA? You doing to do any Photoshop classes?

I'm taking the Site Designer certification course. :) It's the last in the series for the CIW exams. :) I'd love to take the PS class, but I could barely afford the vacation and the tuition for this one! :P Classes are great there, though! Thanks so much for telling me about it! :)

I'm really hoping to go to those PS classes. Hopefully after my mom gets better, etc.

I'm glad you're enjoying the web-design classes. I can't wait to see all your work in your websites.

Nice to read things are going so well for you! Congrats on the new workout/diet! I really need to do something, but I am suffering from laziness! How's the fuzzy dog?

Barb!! Where have ya been? I've missed you! :( :( :( Thanks for the encouraging words on the diet, I finally feel like I've turned my unhealthy life around. :) And Sydney's wonderful! :) Just as demanding and fuzzy as always. :D (See photos below) How's Mortie?? Please post more! I MISS YOU! :(

end? oh this diet and exercise thing has only just begun for you and Mark! ;)

I'm also planning to go see "Avenue Q" the Friday before the Labor Day holiday. I'm already slated to see "After the Fall" with the folks Saturday, so I've decided to do something I did a long time ago, for Nathan Lane....I'm going to work a half day, drive up to north Jersey, go to the City to see "Avenue Q" and then head home afterwards. of course if the show isn't up on the two-fer board I'm a little screwed....maybe I should buy my ticket in advance? what do you think?
Sheri: Stephanie & Kate Monstershutterbug93 on August 3rd, 2004 09:17 am (UTC)
It'll never be up at TKTS - it's being sold out every night (the Golden was packed when I was there - I could only get front Mezz seats) I'd suggest you check Telecharge weeks before to make sure there are tickets available. I haven't seen a discount code for it in ages either. :( But, I know you'll love it!

And I know that the diet & exercise thing isn't only six weeks, and it doesn't mean we'll stop after that. ;) It's just that the initial exercise period is over and then Mark & I can work on maintenance. :) I've lost close to three inches around my waist and have gone down a whole dress size so far. :)

thanks for the info. I'll go check right now to see what's currently available. hopefully being a single will help get me an orchestra seat. I'm most excited to see this show, as I never see musicals anymore.

congrats on the weight loss! that's awesome. I've decided to start working on eating better, since the microwave broke. that's always been my problem. I can exercise up the wazoo, but I still eat things I shouldn't (I just ate two pieces of cake at our office b'day thing) and that hampers me, not to much in the weight loss but in other areas of my personal health life (if that makes sense). anyhoo, the only way to change such bad habits is to hold a gun to my head and do it, the way you have. :) tonite after the gym it's off to Safeway to buy some fruit and salad stuff....to start....

Forgot to mention the lottery that's held before each show. I think they're $25 ORCH seats, but I'm not too sure. The only problem is that there are tons of people who used to show up for the lottery! :P But that might be an option too if you have time before the show. :)

Sheri... I am so inspired by your eating right and exercise. I think that is wonderful that you have went down a whole dress size in one month! That is so great! :) Keep it up.

Awww, you are too sweet! :) Thanks so much - you've been very encouraging to me the whole time and really wanted to thank you for it. :)
