Last day of class...
Class got out today at noon! :) It was kind of nice to just be able to have the day to myself. I've taken so many days of vacation these past few years, but I've never really been home to enjoy them. My vacation days are usually reserved for theatre trips. ;)

So I decided to take advantage of it and ended up going to Borders after class (thank you, kananigirl for the coupon!) :) I used it to buy a Flash book :) - which is great. :) I've also been seriously thinking about taking the 2 Flash classes that CTA offers - which is scary. :P Someone please snap me out of this! :P

My in-laws are in Vegas right now (yet again!) :) They used to tease me because I traveled so often, but recently they've been on so many trips, I don't think they've been home for two consecutive months this whole year! I think that ever since my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, they've made an effort not to take anything for granted.

Speaking of trips, I finally got a rental car through Priceline for our October trip! $17 a day isn't too bad, but I know we're probably going to get some small little clunker (which is fine because I drive a small little clunker here everyday) ;) I still haven't bought any show tickets outside of "Ten Commandments" - since everything else doesn't go on sale until late August. :P

And I think we might have to board poor Sydney again for our October trip. :( The in-laws will be gone on another one of their trips that weekend and my Mom will be taking her trip to Japan. I always feel so bad about boarding Sydney - the last time we picked her up from boarding, she shed her entire undercoat and was extremely scrawny for a month! :( Poor dog!

Hope you all have a nice evening - I'm off to work on scrapbooks. :)

Do you have a friend nearby who would be willing to look in on her a few times a day? If so maybe you could leave her at home (of course that would require entrusting keys to that person too). I check in on my mom's dogs and my sister's cat when they go out of town and someone else I know has friends look in on their dog a few times a day making sure she gets food and water and walks.

Oh that's definitely a possibility. :) I'll have to bring that up to Mark. Though we live so far away from all our friends that it may not be feasible. :( Thanks for the suggestion! :)

It is sad to have to board the pets... we might have to board Krystal when we go to Arizona for two weeks in November. She will hate us for that.

:( - poor Krystal! :( I always worry so much when we leave Sydney in boarding - she hardly eats anything when we're gone and doesn't do too well around other dogs. :(
ajayne on August 8th, 2004 08:12 am (UTC)
I don't know how Krystal would react to being boarded. But she would not be happy at all. She would probably return with behavior problems. And she doesn't get along with other cats a all.... I know that they let them out in an area with other cats for a but each day at this one kennel.

I wish we lived local to you - we would just take care of Sydney for you when you traveled. I hate thinking about boarding our huskies whenever we go somewhere from now on. Before, my Dad would just watch them for us.
We are giving Nikki to my Mom tomorrow for a "trial run". She's always loved Nikki and she needs a dog out there now.

That's so sweet of you to say! :) I'm glad that you're taking Nikki over to Mom's, I'm sure that having her there would be good for your Mom right now.

BTW, I love your new icon!!

17 dollars a day for a car? Not too shabby. :) I know you got it from priceline, but what car rental place gave you such a good deal?

I think the best price I've heard of was when my dad got a car for 7 dollars a day. Can't find it now when I need it. :P

Thanks. :) It was Hertz that ended up approving my price of $17 a day. :) That's not too bad, though once when Pat & I went through National, she was able to get a rental for $13 a day in LA (but the car got a flat while we were going to see Kevin's show - so it wasn't too good of a deal, I guess). :P

$7 a day is great! :) My best deal through priceline (on my own, not with Pat) was $15 a day and it was through Hertz too. :)

Poor Sydney. I wish I would live close to you so that Lauser and I could take care of her when you are on a trip. And also in the reverse case - I'm sure Lauser would love all of you. :) Glad to hear that you had a nice day for yourself. *Hugs*

Awww, Sabine, you're so sweet! I wished we lived closer so I could meet you and Lauser in person. As it stands right now, you're too far away for me to ever travel to see. :(

Hope that you're doing well! :) *HUGS*

LOL If I lived closer I'd take Sydney, but I think Brock would be intimidated, because he has a complex about girl dogs. The only two he knows either chase him, or bark and nip at him. Now mind you one is a Min Pin, and the other is a Chiuaua. LOL! But, I'm sure Sydney would be the perfect little lady!

That's so sweet Laura! :) I think Sydney would be so afraid of Brock though. Sydney a pretty timid dog anyway - once we saw a few maltese dogs at the Pet Expo and Sydney ran away from them! ;) I think she thinks she's a human. ;)

Dang I meant Chihuahua... always get that wrong.

I think Chihuahua is one of the weirdest words in the world to spell! :P It's one of those words that sounds nothing like it's spelled. :)
