Random things...
...I hate sign wavers... I tend to like politics and political discussions (though I try to keep it out of my journal to keep the posts here light) and I see the need for campaigning, but sign-waving people have always unnerved me. I never know where to look as I pass by or what to do - do I wave back? Smile? And the traffic down our long (two lane only road) is always SO backed up when the sign wavers are out in force. :P Unfortunately it seems to be sign-waving season again. :P

Speaking of which, I've decided to vote by absentee ballot this year. It's always so hard for me to get to the polls in time. One year I left work early, but still stood in line for nearly two hours at my polling place just to get in to vote. :P When the news used to talk about some polling places that were still open because of all the people in line, I couldn't believe it - now I know they were probably talking about my neighborhood. :P

On a completely different website note: I somehow have to try to build up the courage to email Misty about the site. :P It's been so long since I've spoken with her and of the four that I have sites for, I feel that I know her the least. Don't get me wrong, she's an absolute sweetheart whenever I have spoken with her, but I guess my hesitation lies in me not having as much contact with her as I do with Kevin, Julie Ann, or even Julie. I think I need to see her in more shows! :)

I still haven't found the mini-disc that I was looking for earlier, but I did find some other things that I'd forgotten I had (old playbills and such). :) It's made me miss seeing "Side Show"... Once in a while a VERY special show with an amazing cast comes along and makes me remember why I love theatre so much... and two years ago that show was "Side Show" at the Colony Theatre. :) With Kevin, Misty, and Julie in the cast and Nick directing it - how could it have been any better than that?

And finally, Sydney's been very affectionate lately. I think it means that the nights are definitely starting to get cooler. :) I'm certainly not complaining. :) I hope you all have a nice evening! :)

Edited to add: I was very sad to read this. :( Poor David Jennings! :( He was also part of that wonderful Colony Theatre cast of "Side Show" that I miss so much... :(

May I ask what signs they are waving? Still, I never passed sign-waving people and so I'm really not sure what I would do then. What you write about the polls sounds bad. I can't imagine to wait for two hours. The last time I had not to wait because I reached the polling station (what here also can be a pub) at 8:30 a.m. - I know it's early for a Sunday. :) But also my father never had to wait for so long even if he went during the afternoon.

I'm sorry that you have not found the mini-disc, up to now. But sometimes it can be nice to find older things which you barely could remember that they are still there. :)

Hope you had a nice day, Sheri. *Hugs*

They wave signs with the name (and sometimes photo) of the candidate that they're supporting. I have to admit that admire their dedication to their candidate, but sometimes I feel uncomfortable because they stand in the most dangerous areas. :P

And I think that our area is so bad because everyone works in town and probably tries to vote at the same time. Maybe if I had gone during the day, it might have been empty. :)

It was nice finding my old things and it brought back so many nice memories. :)

Thanks so much, Sabine! I hope you're having a nice week! :) *HUGS*
