Lots of traveling!
My boss asked me today if I'd attend the Fall Securities Conference for him in Palm Springs in October. :) I was so excited when he told me because I love the Palm Springs area! :) And the conference looks REALLY interesting - I could really use the formal training. The really convenient thing is that I was supposed to be on vacation with Mark in LA until Oct 11th, but the conference starts on Oct 13th - so I'm going to stay up there and drive to Palm Springs. :) I think it ends up working out really well since they can save money on my airfare.

They even said I could stay the extra weekend and return home on the 17th. :) Which means I can see a few more shows! :) Sadly, Julie's "Side By Side" at Pasadena Playhouse doesn't have a Friday night OR Saturday show that weekend - so that's out. :( I'll probably try to see the Saturday matinee of "Ten Commandments" :) and maybe a show at The Colony Theatre. :) Too bad that there's nothing playing at the McCallum Theatre that week in Palm Desert - it's only 7 miles from my conference hotel.

Aside from all the good things about this, it also means that poor Mark will have to fly home all by himself. :( I know that'll probably give him more traveling anxiety, but hopefully he'll be okay. And when I think about it - that's kind of a long time to be gone from home. Two weeks without seeing Sydney :( - one without seeing Mark :( - two weeks without the internet. I'll probably have to hit a Kinkos or something in Burbank since two weeks is unheard of for me to go without getting online - I'm so pathetic. :P

Hopefully there are healthy eating places that I can go to up there so I can actually try to maintain my diet while I'm away (as if I really can!) :P Can any of you who live in CA suggest some healthy places to eat that I can look in to?

And to think that my boss wanted to send me up to Vacaville for a week AFTER the conference... I'd never get to come home! :P

There's a filthy internet terminal at the Vagabond Inn in Pasadena if you get really desperate. ;-) The kind you have to stick a dollar in. I think it's $1 for 10 minutes.

Oh thanks! :) A dollar for 10 minutes is great! If it's not too filthy I just may check it out. Thanks for letting me know about it!

Wow! Your job really has you doing some travel! How nice!
It's great they want to send you places for more training.
They must really value you! Your vacation sounds great, and how nice that it worked out for you! I'll say a few prayers for Mark as he is flying home (when the time comes)
maybe that will make him feel better :)!

I'm sure Mark will appreciate the prayers while he's flying. ;) You know how travel-stressed he can get. ;) And traveling is definitely one of the perks of my new job! :)

I know there are some Mongolian BBQ places in that area... YUMMY!! (And healthy too!)

If you do come to Vacaville, let me know. :)

I think they're sending me to Vacaville next year sometime - I think that's what the budget proposal said. :) I'll definitely let you know though - we've got to get together for lunch or something! :)

Edited because I was having a brain fart! :P

I don't go out to a lot of restaurants really, but I do know that Applebee's has a weight watchers menu. They even have this fatty looking cake, that isn't all that bad. LOL. Probably no help what so ever.

Oh, I HAVE to check out the weight watchers menu at Applebee's! It's one of our favorites restaurants, after all! ;) And fatty looking cake is wonderful!!!! I love low-cal fatty looking foods! ;)

Thanks so much about telling me about Applebees, Laura! :) It was a GREAT help! :)

If you end up going to that Saturday matinee, could you let me know the exact date and time please? :) Maybe Laura, Roger, and myself could meet up w/you if you'd like. :)

Laura mentioned Apple Bee's healthy section on the menu. There is also Souplantation. I love Souplantation. At Hoff's Hut they have something called The Health Club on their menu. There is always Subway if you're stuck w/out another choice. I'll look more into and let you know. :)

Yay!!!! The Saturday matinee is at 2:00pm at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. :) I'm going to see the show there on the 16th with a couple of friends (and Kevin fans) - I'd LOVE to see you, Laura, and Roger there!!!! Please let me know if you're able to go! :)

And I've eaten at Souplantation once with Mark (in Irvine) and I loved it! :) That's a great idea! I'll have to look to see if there is a location close to us! :) And you know, Subway is my old standby healthy food place. :) Thanks for all the great suggestions, Carrie!
