I just realized...
...that tomorrow is September 1st - which means I have roughly two weeks to study for my CIW web exam (which is scheduled for the 18th) Ooops! :P I'd totally forgotten about it and hadn't even picked up the book since it arrived from Amazon.Com several weeks ago :P. I have this really bad feeling I won't be ready in time. :(

On a theatre note, Julie Jackson's new show (who, BTW, is in my new icon above) :) is opening in a week at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. :) It's her debut after being on maternity and family leave for almost a year and a half. I'm so excited for her! :) I can't wait to see her in Pasadena in October - it's been far too long since I've seen her on stage.

Which reminds me - her site is badly in need of a re-design... It was one of the first sites that I created and I haven't re-designed it since. :( It also shows my inexperience when it comes to site building - two and a half years ago - though I really shouldn't talk because I haven't gotten much better since then. :( I'm such a bad fan site builder to have neglected re-designs on her site (and Misty's) for so long. :(

In other news, our diet/exercise plan is still going strong. :) Though I have NO IDEA how we're going to be able to maintain our healthy lifestyle on vacation. :P I'd already given up on the idea that we're going to eat healthy the WHOLE vacation (after all - how can you go to California and NOT eat an In-N-Out Burger???) but I'll be gone much longer than I expected with the business portion of the trip. With no exercise and all that eating, I'll be back to my pre-diet weight in no time! :( Too bad the hotel I'll be staying at doesn't have a DVD player - that would solve at least a portion of my problems. :(

And speaking of exercising, I feel oddly re-freshed today after working out. Some days are awful and I just don't feel like expending the energy and I'll admit when I do work out on those days, I'll only go through it half heartedly. :P How bad of me! :( Today started off as one of those days, but amazingly halfway through I got an odd burst of energy. Now I feel great and ready to take on the rest of the week, my hyper BIG boss, and the CIW exam. ;)

I'd better go and look for my CIW book (and start cramming for the exam!) :P Hope you all have a nice evening. :)

Thanks Carrie! :) I think I have a mental block towards studying these days... :P Must be my old age. ;)

What show is Julie in at OC Performing Arts Center? My parents have tickets to a lot of shows there... like season seats (not sure what they are called at the theater - if its like sports or not lol) I wonder if they are going to be seeing her. :)

And yes - everyone who comes to California MUST have an In N Out Burger. Mmmm. Its been a while since Ive had one of those!

It will be hard to be completely strict on your diet when you are on vacation - but I think you guys will do a good job. You are committed - and while you wont be perfect - I know you will do great. :)

Julie's going to be in "Side by Side" at OCPAC. :) It would be great if your parents had tickets to see it - it should be a great show - besides Julie being in it, it's directed by one of the best directors in LA. :D

I know I have to have an In-N-Out burger when I'm there - there's no doubt in my mind that I'll be willing to give up a few calories for it. :)

Thanks for all the encouragement, Angie! :D It's so sweet of you. :)

I will have to find out if my parents have tickets for that show!!

And hey - ya know - if you really feel like being only 1/2 bad... you could always get your In N Out burger wrapped in lettuce instead of bread - but then again - thats not as much fun! ;-)
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 2nd, 2004 10:05 am (UTC)
Oh I heard about those burgers wrapped in lettuce! :) But you're right, not as much fun! Going to probably have to go with the original unhealthy version to satisfy my burger craving. ;)

maybe one or more of your hotels will have a gym, not that you'll probably be inclined to use it while you're there (I hardly ever use hotel gyms out of sheer laziness), but that'd be a good way to kind of keep your exercise routine up. as for food....well, I'm sure you'll still be able to at least attempt to eat healthily while you're away (fruit for breakfast, chicken or other lean meats for lunch and dinner), but don't deny yourself In-N-Out Burger. from what I understand it's good stuff. I haven't yet tried their burgers myself, but some day, when I have the chance....

Oh I wish my hotel had a gym! I know for sure that the one I'm staying at in Burbank doesn't have one - the Palm Springs one - maybe. :) In-N-Out Burgers are the best! :) You should really try them, they're really worth the extra calories. :)

I bet it will not be as "unhealthy" on your vacation as you think! Of course you have to do some cheating, but that is OK, you might not do the exercizing routine, but you will probably do more walking that usual. Does your hotel have a pool or fitness room? Those are options for you also! I ate bad food on my vacation, and actually lost a little weight, so did Dave, but we did tons of walking, so that made up for it. I have also read that when you are dieting,
it is good to go off of your routine diet and exercize for a little bit, then go back on. It has something to do with shocking your metabolizm or something like that! Good Luck with everything!

I think the hotel in Palm Springs might have a fitness room, but I'm sure the hotel I'm staying at in Burbank doesn't. :P And I probably will be walking a bit more than usual so that should help a little. And thanks for the nice vacation wishes, I wish it was October already! :P

As for your vacation - I think that you should "let your hair down" a bit on the exercising/diet but just make sure that you fit a lot of walking in while you're gone. That will keep you from losing your steam on the workouts while still burning some calories.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 1st, 2004 10:19 pm (UTC)
Very true - I think we both might need a break from all the working out that we've been doing. My fear is that once we get back we won't be able to get back into the routine again... :P But we do tend to do more walking while we're on vacation so that should help us a little. :)

I haven't had In N Out for about 6 months if not longer. It is a must have for people that don't have a chance to eat it once ever so often. This maybe a suggestion... if you have a portable dvd player, maybe you can take it along and do your routine that way. I also agree with others about the walking... that will help no matter what you eat.

Oh I wish I had a portable DVD player! But sadly I don't :(. That would be a great idea if I did, though - I'd love to take my DVD with me. :) And hopefully Mark & I will be able to do some walking up there since I agree, that is great exercise. :)

Your words about the exercising sound like my feelings in regard to the riding. It really is a good feeling when you first felt listless and then it suddenly works well. :)

I'm sure you will try to keep at least a part of your healthy lifestyle during the vacation. I agree with the others in regard to the exercising. Probably, I would try to walk a lot. Perhaps, I should not tell ;) it but when I went the 45 steps here more often than once (bringing the bulk rubbish downstairs) I even got sore muscles from that. Now I try to walk them at least one time/day. :) Oh, and what is an "In-N-Out Burger"? Is it something special in California?

Wish you luck with your studying.

Please take care, Sheri. *Hugs*

That's the best feeling! :D

And an "In-N-Out" burger is only found in California (and Vegas, I think) and it's one of the best (if not the best) burgers I've ever eaten. People from other states will stop on the freeway if they see an In-N-Out burger sign. :) It's that good! :)

And thanks so much for the luck with my studying, I'm really going to need it! :D *HUGS* to you Sabine, please take care!
