Shall I start making NYC travel plans? ;)
After a lot of talk and speculation on everyone's part, there was finally an article in Playbill.Com today about "Ten Commandments" moving to Radio City Music Hall in January. :) It's been talked about for so long as a possibility - but it's finally become a reality with 38 performances beginning Jan 18th. I'm very excited about it since I love going in to the city and there are SO many shows opening between now and then that I wanted to get to see. It also seems very fitting since all of Kevin's shows happen to debut in the coldest months of the year. :P Only Kevin could drag me out of my 80 degree weather in the DEAD of winter. ;)

I asked him earlier if this was the start of the "National Tour" that they keep mentioning in news articles, but he says it'll all depend on how well the LA run does. I'm completely happy and excited for him. And on a more practical note... I'll certainly start to rack up the frequent flier miles if that happens. :P But I could finally travel to places other than just NYC and LA - for a change. :)

Speaking of the show, I've been going to the Official Ten Commandments site all weekend in the hopes of seeing an update - they are SO close to putting up the cast bios. :P I just looked at it last night and they finally have the principals' headshots up on the site. :) The little boy (Darian Weiss) who plays Kevin's son is SO cute. Alisan Porter (who was Curly Sue in the movie "Curly Sue") looks a lot different all grown up - I had no idea she did theatre. Lauren Kennedy looks stunning, as always and I was interested in seeing Nick Rodriguez since Kevin had told me about him when I saw him in NYC in June. The cast looks really good. :)

The show opens for previews on Saturday. :) I'm still crossing my fingers that the first reports will be favorable.

Sorry about the heavy influx of Kevin posts recently. I'm just excited for him that the show is opening so soon. Thanks for putting up with all of my Kevin talk recently. :P

Let me know if your travel plans detour you through the Kansas City airport. If you have a long enough layover, we could grab a bite to eat or something. :)

Most definitely! I'd love to get the chance to meet up with you one day. :) Hopefully one day my travel plans will take me to your area. :)

Edited because I'm exhausted and incoherent... :P

Alisan Porter does look a lot different. I had no idea she was my age. She doesn't look 23. LOL! If I can go (Hoping and wishing!) I will keep an eye out for Adam Lambert who is playing Josue. He's cute! LOL! The headshot for Val Kilmer, is not the most flattering. Kevin's looks nice! That's what matter most huh? LOL!

She really does, I didn't know it was the same person until I went her website. And I didn't know the two of you are the same age - you're right, she doesn't look 23. :)

I really hope that you'll be able to make it to the show! I'm hoping to get $35 tickets for pretty good seats, which is about half off. I'm still waiting for the discount to extend to the weekend that I'll be in town, though. As soon as I see that it has, I'll let you know. :)

I've definitely seen much better photos of Val Kilmer - wonder why he chose that one? And Kevin looks great in his headshot - but he really needs to get a new one (poor guy just hates taking photos!) ;)

Hey Sheri, did you ever hear the French recording of 10 commandments? My friend mentioned that to me a while back. He bought tons of french musical cds.

No, but I heard about it. :) And I think there are a few clips from it on the web site... Actually, the US tour version is supposed to be really different from the French version. I guess I'll have to see in about a month. :)

My friend was mentioning to me that all the songs are different from the French verison? Do you happen to know if they're going to have a cast recording or anything for it.

My friend wants to go see it. It looks good!

I'm not sure how much of it is really different from the French version - from what I hear, it's been re-tooled completely. And a cast recording would be wonderful, but probably not likely :( - I'd love to hear Kevin on his very first commercial cast recording! :)

Are you serious? No cast recording? Ah! That isn't fair! I wanted to get a chance to listen to this version of the show. That is so wrong not making a cast recording.

Don't be sorry about writing so much about Kevin... :) It's something that makes you happy, just like TV makes me happy--have you noticed how many of my entries lately have been about TV? ;) And where else would you get to gush about Kevin? :)

Awww, you're so sweet, Rachel! I think you are one of the few who understands me and my Kevin moods. :) And TV is great - I love reading about your favorite (and sometimes not so favorite) shows in your journal. :)
