Shopping sucks in my old age. ;)
Went out and did some walking around the mall today. I left Mark at home because, although he's very patient with me, I always feel like he's rushing me whenever we shop together. :P It always happens - we'll agree on a time to meet and when I meet him, I'll have finished shopping in that one store while he'll have already shopped the entire mall! :P Men. They're really missing that vital shopping gene. :P

I browsed the clothing stores, but quickly realized that the stores that I usually find myself shopping in have clothes that are much too "young" looking for me to wear. :( Must be a sign that I'm nearing my mid-thirties. :P The jeans are all cut too low, every skirt is cut too high, and the junior business wear doesn't look all that professional to me. :P It must just be my old age talking. :P Needless to say, I ended up not buying anything. :P I can't wait to get to LA so I can do some real shopping! :)

Tonight at dinner, Mark & I were joking around with each other. We weren't seriously arguing, but we started to raise our voices. It was hilarious, but Sydney got SO upset. She started growling and barking at Mark and even started attacking his leg. Ooops! I had to pull her off of him and even then, she was still barking at him... Poor Mark. :( But I have to say, Sydney's nothing if not protective of me. ;)

Finally, Mark & I are actually back to our old workout routine. :) For a while we were getting a little side tracked and lazy and were "forgetting" to pop in the workout video each night. :P Good news is that I noticed that my clothes were starting to feel baggy on me again. :) I can't quite fit into a five comfortably, but I'm almost there! :) It surprises me a lot, especially with all that pizza I consumed this past week. :P But I'm very happy since this was my goal when I started this diet and exercise program back in July. :) Even Mark's had to buy new jeans since his old ones were starting to look ridiculously big on him recently. :) I just hope we don't gain it all back on our vacation. :P

Hope you all have a nice evening!

LOL, my dog is very protective of my mom. My brother always pretends to attack my mom and my dog will start jumping up and down on and off the couches, running around my brother and yipping at him until he stops pretending to punch her, lol.

That's really cute! :) I love Sydney's protectiveness, but I told Mark that if it was a stranger attacking me, she'd probably be too scared to do anything. ;)

I have the same problems shopping, it's either hip huggers, too shear, too tight, and pink and frilly. And you can never get a decent skirt anymore.

I'm too old to shop at the 2nd floor of macy's and too young for the 3rd floor.

Gap is my mainstay basically. Sometimes I go to Anne Taylor (when I can afford it), and Banana Republic's not bad.

EXACTLY! I feel that I'm too old to shop in the Junior section, but too young for the Misses section! :P I do like Banana Republic (it's where I buy all my winter clothes!) and Gap - I can't wait until I can go to LA and go to the shops up there!

mmm shopping...
hehehe Tim and I raise our voices while joking sometimes and Leilani feels uncomfortable and tries to calm us down and jump in between us *lol*

vacation? when? where?

Re: mmm shopping...
How cute that Leilani will jump in between you! :)

I'm going to LA in about two weeks! :) I'm very excited about it since it's been SO long since I've been able to travel. :)

BTW, that new icon of Leilani is just the sweetest thing! :D

Re: mmm shopping...

thanks about the icon - that was taken the day we brought her home from the airport! :)

Good for you! Almost a size 5! I really have to get motivated and do some exercize! I know what you mean about shopping for clothing! Whatever happened to nice, stylish clothing for "grown-up" women, that's not "old lady" or "matronly" looking? I usually get frustrated, and end up buying clothes for my daughter, great for her, but doesn't help me out much :(. Dave and I are the same way when we shop. He can do the whole mall in about an hour...I just dont get it..
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 27th, 2004 09:59 am (UTC)
Not quite a size five yet, but I'm getting there! Hopefully I'll hit a size five before I leave on my trip. :) And I agree totally about the clothes these days. :P Here in Hawaii the stores we have to choose from are very limited too. :( I need a good shopping trip in LA! :) And men... they really don't know how to shop! ;)

HA! MEN! they really don't know how to do alot of things, (correctly anyway) unless their wives tell them how! That is OUR job! lol

Haha! How true! :D

I've been off my routine since I got sick and then had to go to New York for almost a week. hopefully tonite I can motivate myself to the gym....I have my clothes and sneakers with me. it's funny how easy it is to get out of the routine and how hard it is to get back, even when I know how good I feel after a good sweat-filled workout.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 27th, 2004 10:01 am (UTC)
It is hard to get back into the routine. Mark & I were starting to get complacent recently. Plus its been SO hot and humid here recently that we've been dying during our workouts. :P I know, no excuses. ;)
Deb: sunnysb186 on September 27th, 2004 08:33 am (UTC)
Sunny is the same way when we play-wrestle around. She gets quite upset (barking and jumping up on us, but wagging her tail), so we call her the Ref. :) Wrestling can get quite noisy around our house!
Sheri: Sydney - happyshutterbug93 on September 27th, 2004 10:02 am (UTC)
That's so adorable about Sunny! And Sydney was wagging her tail too, but she was really intent on keeping Mark away from me! ;)

Tom actually likes going to the mall more than I do! He's weird like that.

I hate the clothes that are out now. They are either too slutty for me or too old-ladyish.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 27th, 2004 10:04 am (UTC)
Wow! Tom's great about shopping! :) Mark will always wonder why it takes me so long when he waits for me. "You go in, get what you need and come out" - is his theory. He just doesn't get it. ;)

I would love to find a store that caters to people in their early to mid - thirties. Stylish clothes that fit well, but don't look too old... *SIGH*
kenna_clairkenna_clair on September 27th, 2004 09:34 am (UTC)
I'm so with you on the shopping for clothes. I hate the hip hugger pants everyone is selling - I have an hour glass type figure (with a paunch lower belly) and it just doesn't go. I've resorted to wearing a lot of elastic waist type clothes and I'm looking so dumpy.

I'm waiting for this fashion phase to phase out quickly!!

So sweet your dog is so protective of you. I hope your husband wasn't hurt (feeling wise) that your dog chose you to defend.

Wow size 5...I'm so depressed. I jumped up to double digits last year and haven't been able to get it to come down.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 27th, 2004 10:10 am (UTC)
I can't wear those drop-waisted jeans at all - I look ridiculous in them. :( I'm hoping that this phase will phase out soon too...

Actually Mark did feel a little hurt by Sydney trying to protect me. :( I think he's got a little bit of a complex when it comes to her. He always says that she likes me more than him because I'm the one Sydney follows all over the house all the time. :( Poor Mark! :(

And before I started on this diet/exercise plan in July I was a size 11. Every year Mark & I vowed to get healthier and lose 20 pounds, but this was the first year that we actually did. It wasn't easy at all for us, but it's certainly changed our lives!
Smithasmittenbyu on September 27th, 2004 09:35 am (UTC)
Tell me about it! I like low waist cuts - mostly because those fit properly on MY waist ;) but some of them are just ridiculously low and/or tight!! We went to the big sales promised a few weeks ago and came home empty handed. How do these girls wearing the low cuts sit down?! Do they ever sit down?

yeeks... Levi's has been a savior though. We get another brand called Padini Authentics. It has a similar look between Gap and Banana republic...

I have noticed that as well... I can't seem to shop at places I used to shop at just three years ago (well, three years ago was my last visit here)...
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 27th, 2004 10:12 am (UTC)
I wonder the saem thing myself! :) I can't wear those low waisted jeans - I've tried them on and they just look ridiculous on me. :P

I kind of found some pants that I liked at Gap the other day - not jeans, but slacks that actually fit okay. I really like Banana Republic because it's my all purpose "winter weather - I'm-going-to-NYC" store. ;)

Care: okay...careleswhisper on September 27th, 2004 10:57 am (UTC)
The low rise jeans are way too funky for me and I'm only 23 lol!!! When I see other girls wearing them, I either see their thongs or butt cracks. Neither of which needs to be seen by anyone. I dunno, it's all pretty hoochie and trashy if you ask me. I know that I have found the best jeans at Marshall's. I know it may not be the GAP or whatever, but it's good enough for me. :D I got some Ralph Lauren jeans that I really love. I didn't need to get them altered either, the length was perfect for me. :)

A size 5, you should be very proud of yourself!!! :D

Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 28th, 2004 12:46 am (UTC)
I have to agree about the jeans - I'm just not a fan of the new styles - and the low wasitband looks SO unflattering on me. :P I've been in the market for a great pair of jeans for the longest time... I know that I'll be looking when I'm in LA for sure. :) And I've never been able to wear a pair of jeans without hemming it. :D I'm just too short! :)

And not a size five yet.. but almost! :) Thanks, Carrie! :)
Sabinesabine10 on September 27th, 2004 04:34 pm (UTC)
I never really liked to go shopping - every time I was looking for something I did not get it but I found something when I actually did not need it. :)

*Hugs* to all of you

PS: Hope you will it not get twice or more this time.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 28th, 2004 12:49 am (UTC)
You know, that's so true... It's usually how my shopping trips work for me too. Like yesterday, I was really looking for a pair of jeans, but I couldn't find one. I did see a really cute pair of shoes, though. ;)

*HUGS* to you Sabine! :)
