For the last two months I've been sitting around in limbo with absolutely no theatre trips on the horizon. :( Sad to say that sometimes having something like a theatre trip to look forward to (even if it's a LONG time away) makes it easier for me to deal with the day to day stress of my job. And because all my savings is geared toward funding my next trip, I almost feel unmotivated when I don't have a trip planned. :P And I know it must sound ridiculous to some, but everyone has their own ways of dealing with stress - my way just happens to involve lots of theatre. :)

Speaking of which, I have to mention how much I adore my Kevin friends! Two separate groups of my friends have chosen to go (on their own) to see "Ten Commandments" for a second time. While that might not sound amazing, you must realize that my friends rarely see shows more than once (and aren't like me who has seen "Millie"... *ahem*... 12 times). :P For them to go ON THEIR OWN and bring people with them to see any show for the second time is just a wonderful thing for me. :) I went from worrying that they'd hate it (because of the bad reviews) to thrilled that they can't get enough of it. :) Gotta love my friends! :)

In holiday news, special thanks to hubbaswuba for our very first holiday card of the season. :) Receiving her card today reminded me that I'd better get going and mail all of ours out. :) If anyone hasn't given me their address, but would still like to receive a card, please fill out this poll. :)

On a non-theatre note, I've been seriously comtemplating buying an iPod recently. I'd love a device that I could use to store all the musical theatre stuff I listen to without the hassle of having to lug around tons of CDs. It would be great for traveling since it'd definitely be much more compact and would really help out in the "packing light" department. :) I just don't know if I'd rather spend the money on that - or save it for airfare for my next theatre trip. ;)

And finally, I wanted to wish a very happy birthday to kaylea whose birthday is on the 4th AND who happens to share her birthday with one of my favorite people -- Kevin! :)

Speaking of which, I have a HUGE favor to ask all of you. I always do a traditional Happy Birthday post to Kevin on his message board and it would mean so much to me (and to him) if you could drop by and wish him well on his special day. :) Thank you so much if you can! :)

I hope you get some theatre plans in the future. I can understand, how that could be a stress reducer for you.

I tried to post an entry for Kevin's birthday, but I have to be a reg. user. I can't find where ti sign up. Maybe I'm blind and missed it.

Thanks for trying to post a message, Laura. Actually, you don't need to be registered. It asks for a password, but you don't need to put one in to post on the board. :)

Have I already given you my address? Seem to have filled in so many polls on LJ that I've lost track of them;-)

I have your address, Carrie! In fact, my card is already on its way to you. :) (I did manage to get out my overseas cards in time this year) :)

I'm sending out my cards this weekend :)
re: iPod - I have one and I *love* it!! what size are you thinking about getting?
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on December 4th, 2004 09:50 am (UTC)
I'm not too sure - I love the cute compactness of the mini - but think that if I'm getting one I should opt for at least the 20 GB. Not too sure - which one do you have? I know that the 40 Gigs is a bit overkill for me, though you never really know how fast it'll fill up once I start putting all my theatre songs on it. ;)

I just sent my cards out this morning! I can't believe how close Christmas is now.

Happy Birthday to Kevin! I'll visit that board.

Wow - you're very organized! I'd better get going on my domestic cards then! ;) They were all ready to go but the newsletter that we usually do was sitting in Mark's email waiting for him to write "his part". :)

Thanks so much for visiting Kevin's board if you can. :D

I feel exactly the same way! Whenever we get back from NYC, I always want to immediately start planning the next trip. I just feel so much more positive when I can say, "oh well, I will be back in *however many* days!" :)

I also really really want an iPod. I have sooo many cds, and I can never decide what I feel like listening to, so I'm always carting along tons of cds or minidiscs. If I had an iPod, I could store *everything* all in that one tiny little space. :) If you do end up getting one, let me know what you think of it!

I knew you'd understand, Karen! :) I feel that with the 10 Com tour on hold, I've been sitting around in limbo waiting for news so I can plan my next theatre trip - wherever it may be. :)

It would be heaven to be able to just carry a small iPod when I travel - since I'm like you - I can never decide what I want to listen to and my bag gets filled with CDs and MDs. :P I will definitely let you know how it is if I do end up getting one. :)

I too can deal better with stress when I can look forward to something. Hope there will be some plans for theatre trips for you, soon.

Hope you've a nice weekend, Sheri.

*Hugs* to you

Thank you, Sabine and THANKS SO MUCH for leaving such a sweet message on Kevin's board for his birthday! He's in shows the entire day and evening, but I'm sure he'll appreciate it a lot when he gets the chance to see it. :)

Big *HUGS* to you!!! :)

RooKid got a mini-IPOD for his 18th birthday and seems to love it! I want one. !!

I left a note this morning for Kevin on the message board. Awesome site!

Ah, I've been looking at it all day trying to decide! :) Would make my carry on bag much lighter and that's always a nice thing. :) It might even help to organize all my music since I'm always losing my mini-discs! :P

I saw the message you left for Kevin. :) Thanks SO much, Rita! I'm sure he'll really appreciate it! :D *HUGS*

Wow, I was your first card too? It seems like I was the first for a lot of people. Haha... funny how no one wants to be the first. :) I am glad you received it.

And I stopped over and wished Kevin a happy birthday!

Thanks for the card, Andrea! :) And thanks for stopping by and leaving a message for Kevin. :)

I've been thinking about getting an iPod too, but I'd rather save the money for new glasses and/or another trip. ;-) And I always think I'd lose and/or drop it.

Although iPods can also be useful in backing up hard drives, so who knows...
Sheri: Kevin 10 Com headshotshutterbug93 on December 4th, 2004 08:59 pm (UTC)
I think that's the thing that has kept me from getting it this whole time - I'd much rather spend my money on another theatre trip. But until they've made some kind of decision about the 10 Com tour, I don't think I'll be going anywhere.
