Today Mark & I went to visit my Dad at Punchbowl. It was nice to be back there since I hadn't gone to visit him for quite some time. We brought some cute purple flowers with us and because there were too many, I ended up leaving a few of them on the Unknown Soldier's grave on our way to the car. I always try to leave our extra flowers there because I've always felt awful that no one comes to visit him. :(

It was a really nice visit, though. I somehow feel more at peace after I visit my Dad. I can't really explain it, but there's something very calming about Punchbowl. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it's a beautiful place to begin with - in a way it's a shame that so much sadness is affiliated with it.

Afterward, Mark & I went to eat at the delicious Ramen place that Susan and I usually go to for our monthly dinners. It's the first time that Mark has ever been there and he LOVED the food. :) I ate WAY too much - miso ramen, gyoza, and fried rice - I think this should satisfy the Japanese food cravings that I've been having all week,... at least for the moment. :)

I spent the rest of the day fumbling around in iTunes and I realized that I have a lot more cast recordings around here than I thought. This is going to be a really big job getting all the stuff I want transferred to my iPod once I get it. Not that I'm complaining or anything, by any means - it's just taking a lot longer than I expected it to. :)

In other news, the closing night of "Ten Commandments" was tonight. My friend Bobbie was at the final show and she posted her recap here. :) Nothing makes me happier than hearing that she enjoyed the show so much that she went back to see it,... TWICE! :) I'm sad that it's over though, because I loved the cast - they were all so talented and gave the production so much heart. :) I'll miss them all. :(

And finally, Happy Birthday wishes must go out to mdelrey, whose birthday is on the 6th! Happy Birthday, Marina! :) Hope that your day is incredible! :D

That's nice you got to visit your dad. That is also very kind to leave your extra flowers. We do that too, if we have any.

It was really nice to visit my Dad - I should really go more often. :)

This is one of the reasons I have no interest in an iPod. It would take so long to just move everything to the iPod, when I still haven't gotten everything moved from Vinyl to CD yet (next to record, when I have time, is Ben Franklin in Paris!)

It actually "moves" pretty quickly though... I managed to move over 1500 songs in a matter of minutes.

I think my problem comes in when I try to move songs from my old MDs to my computer so I can put them on my iPod. That's very tedious and it takes quite a long time. :P

It's VERY tedious to move all my songs over to my iPod, but I think in the end it'll be worth it. I do know that it'll be an on-going process - probably much longer than I initially thought. :P

I leave the extra flowers on the grave of my grandparents' friends when I visit my grandparents. I knew this couple and they are "next door neighbors" at the cemetery, as they were while living. :) Their children live on the east coast and they are in Arizona.

I loved Punchbowl when we were there visiting when I was in high school. So beautiful.

I have so many songs on my iPod... it is almost full. But a lot of it is massage music for when I go to the office, holiday music and stuff like that.

Awww, that's so nice that you leave your extra flowers on your grandparents' friends graves. It's also very nice that they're still neighbors now. :)

I only have about 300 songs or so - so far. It's all musical theatre stuff - I don't think I have one thing on there that's not theatre related. :)

sounds like you had a lovely weekend. *hug* I'm thinking of getting an iPod as well. I guess it's inevitable for all of us at this point, eh? :)

I just love how compact it is. :) That and I can store almost every musical theatre song that I love on it so it's much lighter when I travel. :)

I'm glad that the visit made you feel more at peace.

It sounds like that you and Mark had a nice time. Because I unfortunately never ate Japanese food up to now, I'm looking if I can find something about it on Google - to be honest, I'm hungry again now. :)

Big *hugs* to you, Sheri. And I hope you had a nice start of the new week.

I LOVE Japanese food! I think I could eat it endlessly without getting tired of it. :) Nothing beats really good Japanese food. :)

Hope you're having a great week too, Sabine! Big *HUGS* to you! :)
