It's beginning to look (and feel) a lot like Christmas...
...especially in our office. :) We spent a good portion of the day today decorating our office Christmas tree. :) I had so much fun helping out since Mark & I never buy a tree and I've really missed the traditional decorating that usually goes along with it. :) A couple of girls from our office went to the store yesterday with my boss to choose a tree. It was so cute when they brought it back proudly, not realizing that the trunk of the tree had grown in a curvy "S" shape so no matter which way we turned it, it looked a little crooked. Poor things! It's okay though - I really like the tree and I really think it's adorable because it definitely has character :) - not unlike all of the people who work in our office, I guess. ;)

And I know you're all tired of hearing my iPod drivel - but I finally got it in the mail yesterday! It's cute and pink and even has engraving on the back that says - "Merry Christmas! Love, Mark 2004" - Isn't that the sweetest thing? I LOVE it and have been loading it up with all of my theatre songs for the past two evenings. :) I already have 325 songs uploaded and have used a little more than a third of the memory - something tells me that 4 gigs is going to be eaten up very quickly!

It also really brightened my day to get some holiday cards in the mail. :) Special thanks to irisheyes77, orion74, and karmastyx for the thoughtful and sweet cards! :) And I've actually gotten semi on the ball and sent out most of my cards - I do still have a batch left that will probably have to wait until Thursday because I won't be home tomorrow night. :P

Speaking of which, tomorrow night is our employee only Christmas party at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. :) I'm going to be driving the girls from my office down (and back) since I was already targeted as the designated driver for the evening about a month ago. :) It should be a lot of fun - I went last year and had a great time, but this year should be even better because we're all going together. :)

And one last note about the holidays - It's been SO bad for my diet! :P Every single annuity company that we deal with (and mutual fund company) has sent us tons and tons of food! From chocolate covered cherries to Cheryl's cookies and brownies, I'm having a hard time sticking to my healthy eating! I know I've gained back a lot of the weight I lost, but I promise to be much better after the holiday season is over. :P

Hope you all have a nice evening. :)

That was sweet of Mark. :)

I'm sorry you don't get a tree. I have to have a tree. The Christmas tree business was in the family for many years. :)

I love my hubby! :)

We used to get a tree every year, but with the weather here it never lasted until Christmas and each year we got too busy to get one. I'm sure we'd get one if we had children, though. :)

Thanks, Kristen! :) The party was really a lot of fun! It's a shame we all have to go back to work this morning. ;)

Have fun at the party! I have never had a job with an office holiday party so I am envious. :) Joe's office does one at noon on New Year's Eve... and that's all. (It is in the office, so it isn't anything fancy.)

I totally know what you mean about all the holiday eating. I am also going to be better when they are over... *sigh*

Thanks! It was actually a lot of fun last night and I'm glad that I went (even though I wasn't too glad that I had to wake up this morning to go back to work) ;P We still have our department Christmas party coming up on the 17th and then our in house "back office" Christmas party on the 23rd. By then I'll be very partied out. :)

And I promise to start my diet again after the holidays, really I will. :)

I'm sure the Christmas tree looks very nice. Which way is the tree decorated? You someway remembered me of a story where a Christmas tree is the "leading actor". Unfortunately, I'm not sure how it goes - I should look if I can find the story. :)

I'm glad that you got your iPod. :) And yes, Mark really is sweet.

Hope you have a great time at the party, Sheri.

*Hugs* to you and take care, please. :)

I really like our work Christmas tree. :) I took some photos of it the other day and I'll try to post them so you can see. :)

The iPod is great! I've been having so much fun with it! :) Mark's the best!

The party was really wonderful and we all had so much fun. :) Hope your week is going well, Sabine. :) *HUGS*

I'm glad you got my card. :)

Like my sister said, I have to have a tree. Growing up with Christmas tree lots in the family kinda makes it that way. LOL.

Glad you are having fun with your Ipod.

Your card was one of the first that I received! :) Thanks so much! :)

Sometimes I miss not having a tree, but I think if we had children we'd definitely make sure that we had one every year. :)

And I love my iPod - Mark is the sweetest! :)
