Sydney update and a weekend of holiday parties. :)
First of all, I wanted to thank you all for your sweet wishes for Sydney in my last post. Thankfully, Sydney is doing much better today and has been acting like her normal, demanding self. :) And though I thought she'd be upset with me for causing her so much suffering the other night, she was very affectionate and even snuggled up with me to go to sleep last night. :) I guess all is forgiven. ;)

Mark & I spent last night with Susan and her husband for our annual Christmas dinner. :) We chose a place in Waikiki not knowing that a HUGE event (movie night on the beach) was the same night. :P The streets were packed! We were literally driving around aimlessly looking for parking for an hour and a half. :P It was so bad that Mark almost wanted to give up and go home. :P Luckily for us, we finally found a space at the zoo and though we were about an hour late, we were still able to have a really nice dinner.

My department's Christmas party was on Friday night - so it's been an entire weekend of too much food! :P The party was a lot of fun and such a change from the other years. Mark & I always tend to sit on the table with the "back office folks" even before I was assigned there. Somehow our personality fits better there than with the loud salespeople that were usually on the other tables. We'd have a good time talking and usually leave at an early hour and leave the late night partying to the salespeople. We'd always look over at their loud tables and wonder what was going on, but never really want to go there to find out.

Well, oddly enough, this year it was the other way around! Mark & I were on the "back office" table as usual, but this year - it was OUR table that was the loud one that didn't leave until the very end! We were so loud, in fact, that some of the salepeople ended up coming over to check to see what was going on since their tables were so quiet. We were just having so much fun that I didn't even realize that we were the only ones left toward the end of the evening. That never happens! We all had such a fun time, though and I think that it's testiment to the fact that we just have such a great team in our back office. That's one of the reasons I could never leave my job!

And finally, in theatre / Kevin news - Someone from Kevin's message board went to a concert at the University of Judaism last night (where Kevin did the Mother's Day concert a couple of years ago) and saw him there! It was a concert featuring songs from Yip Harburg and Kevin was there performing with Ali Porter (from Ten Commandments) as well as a few other local LA theatre performers. :) The man is such a work-a-holic, I tell you! :) He really needs some time off! ;)

And thanks to intootje, i_am_angieface, smittenbyu, careleswhisper, and hubbaswuba for the sweet and thoughtful Christmas cards. :) They really made our day to see them in our mailbox. :) Special thanks to irisheyes77 and orion74 for the extremely thoughtful gift! We love it! :)

I'm off to try to mull over whether I need to endure the malls today! :P I'm almost finished with my holiday shopping, hopefully I'll be able to finish this week without actually having to go anywhere "shopping" related today. Hope you're all having a nice weekend. :)

Wow, it sounds like a great party! Tom's work party was awesome this year. I don't have a work party because I only work with two other people. :D

We're glad that you liked the gift. :)

The party was such fun! It was so shocking that we were the ones closing down the party! When my boss announced last call and I looked around, I was shocked that everyone had left except for us. :) We had a great time - and Mark & I weren't even drinking! :)

We loved the gift! :) Thanks so much again! :)

Mine is on its way to you I promise.... I wonder how long it takes to send from California to Hawaii.

I am so glad to hear Syd is doing better today. I've become attatched to Syd through all of the stories and the pics you post, so when she isn't doing good my heart is sad as well.

Awww, thanks Stacey! :) I'm never sure how long it takes for mail to get to Hawaii either. :P But I'll be on the lookout for it - thanks so much! :)

And thanks so much for your sweet wishes, Stacey! Sydney's doing very well and back to her nomal lovable self. :) She just has to learn to stay away from the sweets (I need to learn that as well) ;).

I am so glad Sydney is back to her normal self. :) That would be so scary.

It's nice to hear you've had a fun weekend with parties/get togethers. :)

She's back to her normal demanding and lovable self and Mark & I couldn't be happier. :) We are SO thankful that we caught her when we did! I don't know what I'd do if something bad happened to her. :(

I'm very glad to hear that Sydney is feeling better. :) And yes, of course, everything is forgiven - I'm sure, she knows that you only wanted to do the best for her. :)

How good that you still could find a space for the car. I'm happy that you had a great time at the dinner and the party. :)

Hope you had a nice Sunday, Sheri.

*Hugs*

Sydney is such a sweet dog and so trusting. I'm so glad that she understood that we were only trying to help her the other night. :)

The dinner and the party were wonderful and were really worth the stress of finding parking (though while it was happening, Mark wanted to give up and go home) :P It's always so nice to spend time with good friends at this time of year. :)

Please take care, Sabine! *HUGS* to you and Micki! :)

I'm very glad Sydney is doing so well! I read the post last night when I was online and got really sad.
So - did you endure the mall today? hehehe we might head to the mall tomorrow depending on if we get up early enough to catch the bus.
I still want to go to the Waikele outlets and Pearlridge.
Sheri: Sydney Christmasshutterbug93 on December 20th, 2004 05:05 am (UTC)
We actually ended up going to Pearlridge today. :) Surprisingly it wasn't too crowded! Waikele, on the other hand looked really crowded when we passed it by on our way home. :P

And Sydney's just fine now. :) She's back to her barky, demanding self and Mark & I couldn't be happier. :)

Naughty naughty Sydney!! But glad to hear she is back to normal and doing well! :) (I just started catching up with all the missed posts over the two days!)

And sounds like you had a great weekend of parties and fun! :)

I know - Sydney certainly does keep us on our toes and she does make life interesting for us! ;) And she's back to her normal self - thank goodness! :) And it's always so much fun to see Susan! :)

but your phone kept ringing so I didn't want to bother you. I'll try and give you a call tomorrow and see what you're up to. :)

Re: just called you...
Oh my goodness, that was you! I saw that I had a missed call, but no number. I'm SO sorry! I wasn't feeling too well when I came home so I took a nap. :P Hope your vacation is going well. :)
