Yay! I'm finally done with my shopping!
Well, I mulled it over and decided to brave the mall today. :P Surprisingly, it wasn't bad at all - in fact, there was no traffic on our way there, and we immediately found a nice close parking space! :) It really didn't feel like it was the last shopping weekend before Christmas - where the heck was everyone?

It's always so hard for me to shop for gifts for everyone. I always want to find the perfect thing, so I usually don't buy anything until the very last minute. :P This year, in addition to all the normal gifts I bought, I also had to do some major puppy Christmas shopping too. At our house, Sydney always gets gifts at Christmas - but besides Sydney this year, I had to buy gifts for my Mom's dog, Yuki and for Susan's puppy, Toby. The oddest thing is that I'm finding that I'm buying more puppy gifts this year than children gifts. :P

And I don't know if I mentioned it here, but this year our bank took away two of our major holidays. :( Since both Christmas and New Years fall on Saturdays this year (and technically a few of our branches are open on Saturdays) those branches are closed on Saturday for the next two weeks and those are considered our holidays. :P I know I shouldn't complain AT ALL, especially since I used to work in retail where we never had ANY holidays. But somehow this just doesn't seem fair. :P

On a much happier, very random theatre note: I finally have something wonderful to look forward to this February! :) I'm so excited! :D

I'm off to try to get some sleep. I've been napping at the oddest times this weekend and it's really thrown off my sleep schedule. :P I've been feeling like this the whole day and then completely wide awake every night. :P I just know after lunch tomorrow I'll be falling asleep at my computer! :P

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I love the FuzzyDog pictures that you post! :D

That bites about the two holidays. Chintzy of them. >:I

That's odd that it was such light shopping traffic yesterday. Perhaps they were all at the Free-To-Ewa-Residents bonanza at Ala Moana. Didn't you hear?? ;)

Poor Sydney knew I was up to something yesterday when I brought out my camera. I could just imagine her thinking, "Oh no! Mommy's bored again!" :P

I know I shouldn't be complaining about the holidays, but I feel so ripped off in some ways. :P

Haha! So that's where they all were! Darn it - no one ever tells me anything. ;)

I'm hearing you on the holiday thing. I really shouldn't complain, because I worked retail from the time I was 15 to 19, but we were told that we got Friday, Saturday, and Monday off for the holidays and now we're just getting Friday and Saturday (which is a half day anyway).

Sydney's so cute!

I remember last year around this time, Tom, Cameron, and I drove up to Chicago to a very popular mall and we were DONE with our Christmas shopping. What the heck were we thinking?!

I used to work in retail for a long time too. There was even a company I worked for that made us come in at 6am on Christmas morning to take pictures of tourists. :P Thankfully I don't work there anymore. Mark has Friday and Saturday off both weeks, and I just wish that I could have one of those Fridays off. :P

I remember that you guys did that last year! :)

Love that photo!

What happends in February?

Thanks! :) I'm going on another theatre trip in February! :D

First off, I need to say that is a very cute candid photo of Sydney! You always capture her well. Second I know what you mean about buying for our pups. They deserve gifts too. ;) Do you wrap them? I did last year, and Brock loved it. It was his first Christmas too.
Sheri: Sydney Christmasshutterbug93 on December 21st, 2004 09:21 am (UTC)
Awww, thanks Laura! That's so sweet of you to say! :) And I definitely wrap all the puppy gifts too. It's funny how Sydney knows exactly which ones are hers too! ;)

That picture is so cute!!! :)

The malls here are awful. Everything around here shopping wise is bad. I could technically be done, but I should probably buy a few more gifts. :P

What is happening in February? :)
Sheri: Sydney Christmasshutterbug93 on December 21st, 2004 09:22 am (UTC)
Thanks, Carrie! :) I think the malls here will ge progressively worse as the week goes on. I really don't want to be at the mall on the Wednesday - I think that'll be the busiest day - by far! :P

...where the heck was everyone?
Perhaps, they are waiting until next Friday. ;) At least, here they still could buy a present because the shops are open until noon.

I'm glad to hear that you are looking forward to February. But what will happen at that time? Another trip, perhaps?

That really is a cute photo of Sydney but someway it's infectious and so I'm off to bed now. :)

*Hugs* to you, Sheri.

I think the shops here are opne on Christmas Eve too - possibly till noon as well. And I wouldn't doubt that there are people who are waiting until Friday to go shopping! :P

And yup I have another theatre trip set up for February!! Woo hoo! :)

It's funny because every time I looked at the bigger version of that picture, it made me yawn too. ;) It is very infectious I think. ;)

Please take care, Sabine! *HUGS*

Thanks, Smitha!! :)

And yup, finally another theatre trip in the works. Woo hoo! :D

Gosh, I wish I could say that -- done with my shopping!! Sydney is cute yawning. :D
Sheri: Sydney Christmasshutterbug93 on December 22nd, 2004 08:23 am (UTC)
I'm done with the shopping, but the wrapping is a whole other story! :P And you've been much busier that I have!
Mrs Beanshuman_beans on December 21st, 2004 07:56 pm (UTC)
Oh hey and on a different note. I read in the Advertiser the other day that Christmas trees in Hawaii are going for easily $200! Gah!
Sheri: Sydney Christmasshutterbug93 on December 22nd, 2004 08:25 am (UTC)
I heard that as well... This year there was a shortage of trees. :P Last year, however I remember that stores were selling their trees for $1 each because there was such a surplus! Can't figure out the supply and demand of the stuff! :P
chandra on December 22nd, 2004 01:16 am (UTC)
hehehhee, what a cute candid shot of Sydney!

I haven't done any shopping this year and it's been GREAT! Not great that I don't have gifts for anyone, but great that I don't have to fight the crowds.
Sheri: Sydney Christmasshutterbug93 on December 22nd, 2004 08:26 am (UTC)
Thanks! :) I always love catching her at the most embarrassing moments. :) Poor doggie, my camera always seems to be in her face. :P
