I know I sound like a broken record here...
...but Kevin's the best - he really is! Just got the sweetest email from him and boy he seems to be busier when he's NOT in a show than when he is. Which, BTW is the wonderful February news that I had been hinting about in my last entry. :) Not only am I thrilled because Kevin has a new show, but I'm even more excited about it because it's being directed by none other than Nick DeGruccio! *SIGH* What could be better than seeing my two favorite LA theatre men at one show? I'm so excited! :D

So, in light of the good news, I spent some time last night looking at priceline for some ideas of airfares. :) The timing of it all seems to work out wonderfully, though since there are so many things I want to see in the area during that time. Hopefully Julie Jackson will get cast in a show during that timeframe too - Fullerton CLO is doing "Miss Saigon" and I think she'd be a perfect Ellen. ;) Of course it's always been a bad habit of mine to "dream" cast all my favorites in every audition notice that I see. ;)

I'm also thinking of planning a trip to NYC in January with my Mom. She still has her credit with Delta that she needs to use before March and it would be nice to take her to NYC since she hasn't been there in over three years. I know she'd love to see "Little Women" and "Avenue Q" and she'd just love the eating places up there. :) I think we'd have a lot of fun... Hopefully, I'll be able to find a fare that I can afford (and if all else fails, I could always use FF miles for LA). :)

Amazing what a little theatre trip can do for my spirits. :) Suddenly, I'm feeling much more refreshed and as if I can tackle any work problem that comes my way. I'm actually feeling much more motivated to save money and get back on my diet than I was just a few days ago. I know, I'm pathetic. :P

I'm off to search for airfares. :) Hope you all have a nice evening! :)

Yeah, I know the feeling about audition notices. Except they never happen -- at least the way I want them to. ;-)

And yay for Kevin (and you!).

That's great that two of your favorites will be at one place. :)

NYC w/your mom should be fun. :)

I was so happy when I heard that Kevin was cast in this! I had wanted to see it even before I knew Kevin was in it since I love seeing Nick's shows anyway. :) Any chance you guys might be able to meet me for a show over the Presidents' Day weekend? It's in the Anaheim area. :) If not, totally understandable, just thought it couldn't hurt to ask. ;)

Wow! Yeah, a trip with your Mom would be really nice!

Hey, Sheri you going to see the PotO movie?
Sheri: Stephanie & Kate Monstershutterbug93 on December 21st, 2004 04:44 pm (UTC)
I love traveling with my Mom! :) And it would be nice since we haven't been to NYC together for a long time. Now I sort of know my way around and we won't get lost. :D

I've been debating about the PotO movie. I will probably try to see it - though I'm not sure if I can get Mark to go with me.

If you're hitting LA, and FYI, our tickets at the Pasadena Playhouse are for the 9pm show of "Anna and the Tropics" on Saturday, 2/5. There's also a great boardgaming convention on Presidents Day Weekend!
Sheri: Kevin 10 Com headshotshutterbug93 on December 21st, 2004 04:51 pm (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know about "Anna and the Tropics!" Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be there in time for that showing. :( I will be there over the Presidents' Day weekend, though. :) Since this will probably have to be a shorter trip (I'll be traveling alone) I'll probably just have time to see a few shows - "My Way," and probably "Accomplice" at the Colony, "Miss Saigon," and "Ragtime." That is unless either Julie or Misty get cast in something else that weekend. ;) Hopefully the Robby Awards are that weekend too! If they are, I may try to stay through Monday. ;)

"Avenue Q"....I still have to see that. I must remember to put that on the list for this coming year. I wish I were heading up to NYC in January, as we could meet up or something. ah well....if it ends up being later, like Feb or March, let me know...that's when I'm planning on going home to see "Brooklyn Boy," so I would love to talk with you about it after we've both seen it.
Sheri: John & Rodshutterbug93 on December 21st, 2004 04:55 pm (UTC)
Yes, you really have to see it! It's such a great show! The best part about it is that it never seems to lose it's appeal - no matter how many times you've seen it. :) And I know I keep raving about Brooklyn Boy - I'd better stop before your expectations are too high going in - you might be disappointed then. It's a shame that Dana Reeve isn't in the cast - she was really great at SCR when I saw it.

I'd love to see Avenue Q. I keep waiting for Chicago to get some decent shows, but so far, nothing good is playing there for the next three months. :(
Sheri: Stephanie & Kate Monstershutterbug93 on December 21st, 2004 04:57 pm (UTC)
If there's ever a chance for you to see Avenue Q, you really should! It's hilarious! :D And you're SO lucky to live so close to Chicago! I'd love to visit Chicago and see some great shows there! :)

I hope she'll enjoy it - I know she's been wanting to see a few shows recently so hopefully it'll be possible to go. :) And most of my Broadway news I find out here and for my LA theatre news, there are several places I go to check audition notices when I know that Kevin is looking for a new show. ;)

Yay! That's so exciting! I know how fun it is to search for airfares...we just got tickets for my March NY trip and I'm so excited! :) Hope you find some good deals and get to go on a lovely trip. :)

Wow! You're going to NYC in March? Lucky you! :) Hope you have a wonderful time as well, are you planning on seeing any shows while you're there? :)

I LOVE traveling with my Mom - she's so much fun! She and I both love to eat at great places and see shows, which makes her THE PERFECT travel buddy! ;)

I'm like that, too. As soon as I get some good news that we'll be doing something fun, I get more motivated to do the mundane things in real life.

I was really in need of some great theatre news - so I'm really glad this came along when it did. :) I'm so excited - I can't wait! :)

If your travels take you through Kansas City, let me know. I'd love to meet you, even if briefly. :)
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on December 22nd, 2004 07:23 am (UTC)
That would be so nice! Unfortunately, the flight that I booked is being routed through Cincinnati and my lay overs are a little less than an hour each. I will let you know if I'm ever in the Kansas City area, though. :)

I love planning trips! :) I think that I'm the happiest when I have a trip on the horizon. :D BTW, would you and Carrie care to meet up for a showing of Kevin's new show over the Presidents' Day weekend? It's in the Anaheim area and it isn't as costly as "Ten Commandments". :) Just thought I'd ask. :)
