The New Year, Julie Ann's new movie, and my NYC countdown! :)
We had a pretty nice New Year. :) Spent New Year's eve at a family party at the in-laws and last night at my Mom's for dinner. We ate our traditional Chinese take out meal last night and spent the evening trying to keep the fuzzy dogs from driving each other (and all of us) crazy. :P

We also spent some time last night setting up my Mom's internet access. She seems to be a little less nervous about the whole thing than when we set her up last year with Mark's old laptop. Hopefully she'll get used to it - since right now when she needs information on things, she still goes to the public library to look at encyclopedias. :P I set her up with a few standard bookmarks (news sites, Web MD, Google, Yahoo Maps, and of course my Kevin site) ;)

Speaking of the Earleys - Julie Ann's cousin, Steph forwarded me a link to the official website for Julie's new movie "Hitch" (which stars Will Smith). :) It's been literally years since I've seen a movie in a theatre, but I definitely plan to be there to see it on February 11th - I'm so excited for her! :)

In theatre news - the countdown to NYC is only 9 days! :) I can't believe it's come so quickly! With all the excitement over the holidays, it just kind of snuck up on me. I'm certainly not complaining, though especially since I've been feeling theatre deprived for quite a while now. :P Hopefully my Mom will like the shows that I chose, I know she likes more of the old-fashioned musicals - so I'm almost afraid of her reactions to shows like "Avenue Q" and "Brooklyn". :P

And I can't believe that it's been a year since I moved to the back office at work. There was so much uncertainty when I moved (I didn't even know if I'd have a position there after 90 days) but, looking back it was one of the best risks I've ever taken in my life. Not only did it bring me to a place that I finally feel like I belong, but it brought back something I never thought I'd feel - love for my job. :)

I'm off to feed the fuzziness that is my dog - hope you all have a wonderful evening. :)

Hey, that's exciting that your friend is in the film -- I'll have to try to make sure I see it, too. I'm like you; I never see movies in the theater! It should do well and be seen by many with Will Smith, which means lots people will see her too. Must be a great career boost.

I'm very excited for her! :) Hopefully it'll be a great way to get her back in the public's eye since it's been a while since people have seen her on "Line of Fire" (I can't believe it was still showing a year ago! I miss her show!) :(

And movies these days are so expensive that I usually just wait for them to come out on DVD - this, however, is an exception! :)

Yay for your Mom! :) Hopefully my Mom will get used to the internet - I told her there's a whole world of information out there that she now has access to. :) Hope your weekend was nice, Kristen - please take care! :)

I'm happy that you had a nice New Year. :) What have the dogs done?

- the countdown ... is only 9 days! :) I can't believe it's come so quickly!
I can say that too. But it's my birthday then. :D

Hope you have a nice day, Sheri.

*Hugs*

The dogs are always fighting with each other for attention. :P If any of us gives Sydney some attention, Yuki will run over, push Sydney out of the way. Sometimes it gets bad when they're both eating a treat. Yuki will push Sydney out of the way, eat her treat - then go back and eat her own. Poor Sydney is still getting bullied by Yuki. :P

That's right! The day I'll arrive in NYC is your birthday! :D Woo hoo! :)

Hope you have a nice week, Sabine. *HUGS* to you and Micki. :)

You probably already know this, but I saw that Julie Ann will be on "Alias" playing "Nancy Cahill" in episode: "Nocturne" (episode # 4.6) 2 February 2005. Just thought I'd tell you just in case. :)
Sheri: Julie Ann - as Amelia in Takenshutterbug93 on January 3rd, 2005 05:22 pm (UTC)
Ohhh! Thanks! :) Kevin told me - when we saw him at "Ten Commandments" that Julie was going to be in the 4th episode of "Alias" - but he didn't know the air date. Thanks for the great information! :) I went ahead and put it up on her message board so others will know to tune in. :) I just have to remember to tape it!

Thanks again for the great information, Carrie! :) It's been SO long since I've seen Julie in anything - I can't wait for February! :D

Hey, there's nothing wrong with going to the public library for information! ;)

I remember when we set my parents up with our old computer. My Dad swore that he'd never learn to use it, but he became an eBay king after a couple of months!!! I don't know what I'd do if my Mom didn't have e-mail because even though she's only twelve miles away, she's long distance.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on January 4th, 2005 07:55 am (UTC)
Very true! :)

I'm hoping my Mom embraces the internet. :) It would be a lot of fun to exchange photos with her via email - especially with her new digital camera. ;)
orion74 on January 4th, 2005 05:49 am (UTC)
That's great about your mom getting on the internet! Amanda has a great aunt who is 92 who e-mails us regularly. She even "LOLs" in e-mails. It cracks us up.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on January 4th, 2005 07:57 am (UTC)
That is so cute! :) My Grandmother is 92 and I can't imagine her sending emails - though it would solve the problems with her hanging up on people because she refuses to wear her hearing aide. ;)
