The New Year, Julie Ann's new movie, and my NYC countdown! :)

We had a pretty nice New Year. :) Spent New Year's eve at a family party at the in-laws and last night at my Mom's for dinner. We ate our traditional Chinese take out meal last night and spent the evening trying to keep the fuzzy dogs from driving each other (and all of us) crazy. :P

We also spent some time last night setting up my Mom's internet access. She seems to be a little less nervous about the whole thing than when we set her up last year with Mark's old laptop. Hopefully she'll get used to it - since right now when she needs information on things, she still goes to the public library to look at encyclopedias. :P I set her up with a few standard bookmarks (news sites, Web MD, Google, Yahoo Maps, and of course my Kevin site) ;)

Speaking of the Earleys - Julie Ann's cousin, Steph forwarded me a link to the official website for Julie's new movie "Hitch" (which stars Will Smith). :) It's been literally years since I've seen a movie in a theatre, but I definitely plan to be there to see it on February 11th - I'm so excited for her! :)

In theatre news - the countdown to NYC is only 9 days! :) I can't believe it's come so quickly! With all the excitement over the holidays, it just kind of snuck up on me. I'm certainly not complaining, though especially since I've been feeling theatre deprived for quite a while now. :P Hopefully my Mom will like the shows that I chose, I know she likes more of the old-fashioned musicals - so I'm almost afraid of her reactions to shows like "Avenue Q" and "Brooklyn". :P

And I can't believe that it's been a year since I moved to the back office at work. There was so much uncertainty when I moved (I didn't even know if I'd have a position there after 90 days) but, looking back it was one of the best risks I've ever taken in my life. Not only did it bring me to a place that I finally feel like I belong, but it brought back something I never thought I'd feel - love for my job. :)

I'm off to feed the fuzziness that is my dog - hope you all have a wonderful evening. :)
