Yesterday morning while I was washing my car, I did an utterly stupid thing. I don't know how I managed to do it, but I sliced my finger on my exhaust pipe. Ouch! :P It was surprisingly sharp, too - it could honestly be used as a weapon! :P There ended up being a lot of blood (blech!) and a lot of swearing (yes, unfortunately I slip into profanity quite easily when I'm in pain.) :P I think it's okay now, but I'll probably end up with an ugly scar about an inch long on my right ring finger. :(

And it probably had nothing to do with my finger at all, but I ended up not feeling too well the entire day. :P I actually slept for most of the day and ended up not going with Mark to a karaoke gathering with his friends that night. :( Mark ended up having a great time, though and was actually sober enough when he came home to give me all the latest news on all his friends who we haven't seen in a while ;) (including a report on his friend's new girlfriend who everyone met for the first time that night) :)

With all the sleep I got yesterday, it surprised me that I didn't wake up until noon today! My internal alarm clock must be seriously damaged since it almost always wakes me up at 5:30am, even on a weekend... Even my fuzzy alarm didn't bother to try to wake me this morning. In any case, thankfully I feel A LOT better today. :)

Speaking of which, today was a very relaxing (albeit very hot and humid) day. Mark & I ended up going out to look for a new fan for the living room since it looks like this is going to be the start of a pretty hot summer. :P Mark found a really powerful Black & Decker utility fan that he loved, but it was SO powerful that I feared that Sydney would actually blow away if she tried to stand in front of it to block the wind like she normally does. ;) And I know I say it every year around this time, but I REALLY think it's time to invest in an AC! :P

On a Julie Ann note, I found a few photos of her at the recent ABC Upfront press conference in NYC on the 17th. She looks great, as always! I also found a very stunning publicity still of her from her new show, "Commander in Chief" AND found out that it'll be in ABC's 9pm timeslot on Tuesday nights this Fall. I rarely watch TV, does anyone know what that will be up against?

Oh well, I'm off to look for my fuzzy dog - I hope you all have a nice and safe Memorial Day tomorrow. :)

No A/C in Hawaii???? WOW! I've never been to Hawaii (yet), but I picture it as a really hot place (hotter than Florida). What is the weather like down there usually? I guess I could google that, but asking someone that actually lives there feels more accurate. heh.

Yup, no AC in our house! :P The temperature here never really gets as high as is does on the mainland, but the humidity is what's really bad. Usually our temperatures are in the 80's during the summer. Having no trade winds makes the weather even hotter... :P

I hope your finger gets better soon, ouch! :/ My sleeping schedule was so off track today. It was nice to sleep in though.

Thanks, Carrie. :) Actually my finger is feeling much better today. :) Glad that you got to sleep in, I rarely do so this weekend felt really odd to me.

I'm sorry to hear about your finger. :( And I hope it's not so bad! I don't know why but I tend to get quiet when I'm in pain.

Did your fuzzy alarm sleep too? It seems to me that sometimes sleep really can be a good medicine. :)

Right now I could send you some cold weather. ;)

*Hugs* to you, Sheri. And please give Sydney a hug for me.
Sheri: Sydney - happyshutterbug93 on May 31st, 2005 09:47 am (UTC)
Thanks, Sabine! I should probably try to be more like you and be a little more quiet when I'm in pain. The funniest thing is that I NEVER used to swear before - ever. But lately I've noticed that profanity has found a way out of my mouth... :P

My fuzzy alarm got a good night's sleep and probably decided it was her chance to sleep in too. :) I think I really needed the sleep because I feel wonderful today - and I haven't felt so refreshed in such a long time!

*HUGS* to you and Micki, Sabine! :D

Sheri, I hope you're feeling better (finger and otherwise! :)).

You should definitely get air-conditioning! It gets extremely hot in the summer here, and I wouldn't survive if we didn't have central air. My dad despises the heat, so we've had it since we moved in. :)
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on May 31st, 2005 09:50 am (UTC)
Thanks, Karen - I actually do feel a lot better - I think the sleeping in did wonders for me. :)

Ah! Central air! We had the option to have it installed prior to moving in but we were poor souls back when we bought our house and thought we'd have it installed later when we had the money. Now we have the money, but it keeps going to other things (like our joint trips to NYC... bad Fujimotos!) ;)

Ouch, so sorry about your finger...I hate when that happens...hope you're OK.

Thanks, Doug! I think it's much better now (thankfully). :)

Sorry to hear about your finger. :(

I think you are right about it being a hot summer this year... :|
Sheri: Sydney - happyshutterbug93 on May 31st, 2005 09:53 am (UTC)
Thanks Laura. :)

And I'm thinking that this might be the year that we finally give in and get an AC... I can't believe it's so unbearable and it's only May - what's going to happen to us in July? ;P
ajayne on May 31st, 2005 02:08 am (UTC)
Ouch! I hope your finger's OK. I have done things like that before too. (I just can't picture you swearing like a sailor! Haha!)
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on May 31st, 2005 09:55 am (UTC)
Thanks, Andrea. My finger is much better today. :) And haha! I used to not swear at all - not even a word! But lately I've been turning into... Kevin Earley! I'm just kidding of course, but he's got the worst mouth I know! ;)
ajayne on May 31st, 2005 02:52 pm (UTC)
Haha.. sometimes there's only one way to express yourself. :) I used to never swear either, but then I was always around kids. Now that I am not, I found that those words are part of my vocabulary! Ha! But I don't usually say them loudly... yet.
Mrs Beans: Me--Shockedhuman_beans on May 31st, 2005 03:46 am (UTC)
You don't have AC?!? Quick, go to my parent's house!! (They moved btw to some newer part of Ewa.)

I hope your finger is feeling better.

Cracked me up your description of Sydney in front of the fan & then blowing away. :D
Sheri: Sydney - happyshutterbug93 on May 31st, 2005 10:00 am (UTC)
No AC for us! ;P We keep meaning to get a unit installed, but we keep procrastinating... other things always end up taking priority when it comes to our savings. :P

My finger is much better today, thanks Rita. :)

And I could just see poor Sydney blowing away from the industrial strength of the fan that Mark wanted. :) I can also see her standing in front of and not being able to be pulled away from an AC unit if and when we decide to purchase one. ;)

My one cat, ShyGurl, will lie on top the register in the winter for the warmth and in the summer for the coolness -- it must feel great on her tummy...the little hog as she takes up the entire register. :D Same cat likes to lie behind the fan, with her face inches from the spinning blades, never in front of it.
