More eating! :(
Hubby surprised me by bringing home Chinese food this evening. :) There are very few things that I can't resist when I'm on a diet (what diet?) and good Chinese food is definitely one of them! :( The dinner was delicious, unfortunately my healthy eating plan seems to be going nowhere really fast... :P And add to this a dinner tomorrow night with Susan where we'll surely spend time talking over good food and even worse,... good dessert! :( I need that motivation that I had last year, but it just seems SO hard to come by recently! :(

On a work note, I couldn't believe it, but today was the first time that I actually felt like I had a handle on the mess on my desk. For VERY the first time, it felt as though I was actually making some headway and catching up! Of course the sense of accomplishment is very fleeting since tomorrow I'll probably find myself behind and trying desperately to catch up again. :P It was nice today while it lasted, though. ;)

And I really have no thoughts or comments on the Tony's this year since everyone on my friends' list said everything that I was thinking about the telecast (and the awards) much earlier and much more eloquently than I ever could. :) I'll just say that watching the Tony's last night really made me anxious to plan my next NYC trip - I just have to see "Light In The Piazza" (too bad it's a limited run!) :( "Spelling Bee," and Christopher Sieber... *SIGH*. Mark's already saying he wants to go back in January - so I'm very excited! :D

On an LA theatre note, "The Wild Party" was tonight (it was a one night only concert reading) and sadly I missed it! :( Not only was it Misty's first LA show in... forever, but I found out tonight that all my favorite people: Kevin, Nick, AND Julie Dixon Jackson were all there in the audience! :( I haven't seen all of them together in one place since... "Side Show" three years ago. :( Of course that makes me even sadder that I missed it... :(

Speaking of Kevin, I finally put up those INCREDIBLE production photos from "Applause" on his site. :) I have to say that this shot has quickly become my favorite Kevin production photo ever! It's SO full of intensity - just look at Kevin's eyes! Michael Lamont is a genuis for catching that moment and those expressions. It reminds me that in addition to having a beautiful voice, Kevin can sure act! :)

I'd better run, I have a busy week (and weekend) coming up and I'm still trying to get rid of the remainder of my cold/flu... whatever it was. :P Hope you all have a nice evening! :)

Nice photos, but...aaah! Graydon and Muzzy!

Ahaha! Not exactly the best mental image for "Millie" fans, I'm sure. :D

EEEEEEEEEEE! I like the picture of Kevin, that is kewl. ;-)

Awww you got a cold? Vitamin C like crazy. I heard if you have an itch throat water, with apple cider vinegar and honey helps!

It's my favorite new photo of Kevin! :)

I think I had the flu earlier - sore throat, bad fever, all of that. Thankfully I think I'm on the mend. ;)

One of the (very) few good things about diet is - you can always get back on it anytime. The minute you fall off the wagon, it's right there to climb back in. So don't be so hard on yourself...persistence is the key!

That's very true! Sometimes when I've been bad, it turns into a downward spiral of not caring and eventually falling deeper into the bad eating pit... But I won't let it happen to me this time. :) Thanks for your encouraging words, they're just what I needed. :D

That's a great pic of Kevin! :)

Don't lose hope re: The Light In The Piazza - apparently, if they see a pick-up in ticket sales, they will extend through the end of the year! I really hope you get to see it.

Gill and I are dying to see Spelling Bee, and are really sad that we could have seen it instead of Sweet Charity. :( We're hoping to go back to NYC sometime in the fall! *fingers crossed*

P.S. I hope my Tonys entry didn't give anything away...I realized afterwards that you hadn't seen them yet! I should have put it behind a cut. :)

Isn't it just... *SIGH* :)

Oh, I really hope they do decide to extend. I really want to see it! :) And "Spelling Bee" is another show I have to see! I hope that you and Gill will get the chance this fall! :)

And please don't worry at all about your Tony entry! I stayed away from the internet as much as I could before the show started - it wasn't until after the telecast was over that I went back to read all my friends' posts about the show. :)

Great Kevin photos! And don't feel bad about not quite sticking to the eating plan. It's hard when you're eating in a lot of social situations. I've been eating a lot more dessert lately than I should just because I've been going out with the polo girls. Eating together is just so much fun, and that dessert tastes way too good!

I agree that social eating is so hard to avoid sometimes! At work, at least once a week we'll order food from a great take out place nearby and all sit together, eat, and talk. And when I go out with friends, the main thing they always want to do is go out for dinner. :) It's always so much fun, but always so hard on the waistline! ;P

PLEASE TAKE ME TO NYC WITH YOU! Hahaha, I want to go soooo badly. In addition to the aforementioned shows, I would love to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I'm wanting to download some of the music from Applause... all I've ever heard are "Welcome to the Theatre" and the title tune... do you have any recommendations?
Sheri: Kevin 10 Com headshotshutterbug93 on June 8th, 2005 09:05 am (UTC)
Ah! I forgot "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!" I want to see that too! I can't believe that I missed seeing the show in their out of town previews at the Old Globe in October last year! :(

Oh, I really like the music from Applause, but I haven't heard the cast recording. I might be biased, but I loved "Think How It's Gonna Be" and "Something Greater" - but that's probably because they were Kevin's songs. "Good Friends" is a cute song too. :)

What kind of Chinese food did you have?
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on June 9th, 2005 02:26 pm (UTC)
I love Cantonese food, and I'm not much for the Mandarin style of Chinese food... The food was from a great Cantonese restaurant near my in-laws house. :) Salt & Pepper shrimp, chow funn, eggplant... Just yummy! :D
Tonydudepower1982 on June 9th, 2005 04:12 pm (UTC)
Since you mentioned eggplant...question:

have you had eggplant parmesan (because I haven't), and how is the eggplant (which I've actually never had, either) integrated into the dish?

I'm sorry if I'm making you more hungry, Sheri. ;-P
