I guess it'll just be a weekend for the girls...
...just me and the fuzzy dog. ;) Mark called me from Vegas and he's having a great time! He told me that I'd love the new penny machines they have there (I always used to end up at the nickel machines because I lost money SO fast on the quarter and dollar machines...) ;) I'm really glad he's having so much fun, he really needed a good vacation. :)

They also visited the Wynn hotel yesterday and he actually took a photo of the Avenue Q "marquee" for me with his camera and emailed it to me! :) I guess when he asked me what I wanted him to bring home from Vegas and I told him John Tartaglia, he figured that this was the next closest thing. ;)

It's a little washed out because he used his cell phone, but I was pretty shocked to receive it in my email this morning! :)

The house has been very quiet without Mark around, but the good news is that I was able to get a lot of cleaning done in his absence. :) Mark has the be the world's worst pack-rat - I thought I was bad, but Mark keeps everything! And not only things he needs or will ever use again, but we have boxes for TVs and computers that we don't even own anymore sitting upstairs in our spare bedrooms! :P This weekend was a great time to go in there and clean all those things out. I wouldn't dare touch his other things, I'll just have to leave that to him when he gets back. :)

In a bit of sad theatre news, I just found out that the production of "Babes In Arms" that Julie Dixon Jackson was supposed to be in at Saddleback CLO was cancelled due to a bee infestation at the theatre! :( How horribly random is that? Poor Julie, and the poor rest of the cast - apparently, they only ran for a couple of shows before the cancellation. :( How sad!

Well, I'm off to try to clear up more clutter around here and maybe try to get to the market before the big weekend crowd. Hope you're all having a nice Saturday so far. :)

A bee infestation?! How awful -- but lucky they found out about the infestation BEFORE the show and not DURING it, I suppose.

Oh my, VERY true! How sad that they had to cancel the remaining performances, though - I've never heard of such a thing!

Ooh, Avenue Q! I'm excited; it is highly likely my family is going to Las Vegas for Christmas! If we do, we're definitely going to try and get tickets to Avenue Q. I would love to see John again...and we heard that David Benoit was also in the cast. If it's the same David Benoit we loved from the Les Mis tour/Broadway, that would be so wonderful. :)

Oh, lucky you! :) I probably won't be able to make it to Vegas anytime soon so you'll have to fill me in on what they cut out of the show, etc.

BTW, I love that picture that you're using in your icon! :)

Oh, I will definitely give a full report! I haven't looked much into it yet - do you think the tickets are super expensive? I hope not.. :)

Thanks! I thought I should bring it out of retirement...I've been on such an Altar Boyz kick lately, it's been neglected. :)

Yep, that's the same David Benoit. :-) I can't wait, either!

I remember seeing the ads for Avenue Q when I went in June. I went to the Wynn hotel, and they didn't have that up yet. I'm glad he was able to take a small picture for you.

It's a shame that Mark's trip wasn't just a few weeks later, then he would've been able to see it. :)

Ah, Vegas. I miss Las Vegas - I think we're going there for Christmas. It's so relaxing (although not in August when it is HOT - we went a few years ago for Karen's 21st birthday).

Some quiet time can be good :)

Mark & I went in July one year and the weather was disgustingly hot. :P We were so hot that we didn't want to do a lot of walking around outside, and ended up gambling more than we had intended to.... Ooops! ;)

It was bad cause we stayed at a hotel way up from the main area on the strip and so on our way back to the hotel, my mom wouldn't let us get a cab so we just had to try to duck into as many airconditioned casinos as we could on the way. And stand under those flashy mist things at the front doors! :)

I'm glad that Mark is having a nice trip!

A bee infestation? How horrible, but what a weird reason!
Sheri: Julie Jacksonshutterbug93 on August 8th, 2005 08:02 am (UTC)
He is! He's having so much fun, he doesn't want to come home! ;)

I was SO surprised when I found out about the bees! The poor cast, what a freaky thing to happen and how sad that the show needed to be closed down because of it. :P

It's good to have a little time alone with the fuzzy pets in our lives.

A bee infestation? Good grief! Can't they get an exterminator or something to take care of it?

It was definitely nice to spend some alone time with my fuzzy baby! :D

Can't they get an exterminator or something to take care of it?

You know, I was thinking the same thing the other day! Why close the show? It spans over two weekends - I'm sure the problem could be solved in a week. :( So sad! :(

Wow, that reminds me of when we got back from NZ/Australia and one of my parents' tenants had called about bees in their house. While we were gone. Oops.

I'm going to Vegas whenever I can. Too many people I want to see! (OK, two. From Les Miz!)
