Doug & Sheri

Thank God for little miracles...

...Sydney's temperature is down to 103.7 and thankfully she seemed to be having a good day. :) There was just something about the look on her face when I saw her after work today that made me smile. She's still very weak and isn't able to walk without stumbling, but it seems that some of the life has returned to her eyes. :) For the first time in a week I actually started to see inklings that resembled the dog I used to know. I know she has good and bad days and this was an incredibly good day for her, but it's gotten me hopeful again. Part of me hates to get my hopes up all the time, because it's happened so many times before (only to be crushed by a new vet visit), but I've been enjoying her company tonight and will worry about biopsies and yellowing skin tomorrow.

On another smiley note - Kevin and Julie were sweet enough to send over their concern for Sydney. They have been wonderful, not only as immensely talented public figures, but as unaffected, personable people as well.

Part of me wishes that this day could go on forever - since I know that happy days like this will be few and far between. And though I'm exhausted and I know Sydney needs her rest, I want to spend just a little more time with her, because who knows what condition she'll be in tomorrow? Thank you all for your prayers.

I'm off to hug my dog. :)
