Sydney - couch

Got a call from our vet today...

...apparently Sydney's blood test results have came back and the good news is that she's been completely cured of whatever liver damage she suffered through all of last year. :) The bad news, however, is that Sydney apparently suffers from an under active thyroid. :( Apparently thyroid production goes up and down during the course of a day and the vet did tell us that perhaps at the time the blood was drawn, Sydney might have been at a particular low. They're running another set of tests to determine if it's an ongoing problem that they'll need to address. :P Poor doggie, if it's not one thing, it's another! :(

She did say that it might explain the three pound weight gain recently, or the fact that Sydney seems a little more lethargic than normal. I chalked up the sleepiness to Sydney getting older and extra weight to the Total cereal flakes that Sydney always seems to find on the ground when Mark eats breakfast. ;) But I guess we'll have to see what the next set of tests show and take things as they come. The vet also said that with proper medication, this condition can be controlled if the tests did prove she had a thyroid problem. This certainly is not as bad news as I was expecting when the vet first told me she had bad news for me - so, although I'm worried, I'm not going to fully obsess about it like you'd expect me to. :P

In other news, I got my new issue of LA Stage magazine in the mail today (it took so long to arrive that I swear they must paddle things out here by canoe!) :P There was a honking huge picture of Val Kilmer on the cover which kind of scared me a little when I first saw it. :O And I looked through the magazine, but no Kevin mention - drat! :P

And I have to say, I love my Kevin friends - I can't wait to see them in LA! They're the best for so many reasons, but the main one being that no matter what the show, they don't mind going to support Kevin because they admire his talent. :) It's been far too long since I've seen them.

Finally, reading my friends' page, I've noticed that it's been a hard day for so many of you. :( Big *HUGS* to you all. :(
