Mid-week holidays and baby blues. :P

The audit is going about as bad as expected (if not worse), the chicken pox virus still looms around our office (our banker with shingles refuses to stay home and away from people), :P and I'm still eating everything in sight, but if there is a bright spot in any of this (which really surprises me that there is) - it's that tomorrow is actually a holiday for us. :)

I just got home not too long ago from a wonderful dinner with Susan. :) It's been so long since we've had one of our monthly "girls only" dinners and I realized how much I've missed talking with her. SO much has happened since I've seen her in July. She and her husband have moved and settled in to their new house, they just got home from their honeymoon in Japan, AND they're thinking of starting a family next year. :)

Whenever I have dinner with Susan, the conversation usually turns (very quickly) to our ticking biological clocks. :P She knows I how much I've always wanted children (more than anything) but also knows that Mark is pretty against all of it. She knows how frustrated I've been in my talks with him over the years and she knows that in some ways I've given up. :P Still, that doesn't seem to stop her from trying to bring the subject up to him when she sees him at work every now and then (it's good that one of us still has hope). ;)

We also did some planning for our annual Christmas dinner. :) Since Mark and Susan work together (and both can't stand their work place or the other people they work with...) :P they always boycott their office Christmas party every year and we always end up planning one of our own. :) Last year we all went to The Cheesecake Factory and the year before we went to Sam Choy's. I can't wait to see where we're going to go this year. :) It's always one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. :)

Speaking of Christmas parties, our bank is throwing an "employee only" appreciation night at the Royal Hawaiian. I usually don't go to these things, but my boss and co-workers convinced me to go. :) It'll be a lot of fun since everyone will be going together... even if they did make me the designated driver! :P How lucky for them that I don't drink! :)

I should go - I wanted to catch up on some reading before I collapse. Hope you all have a nice evening. :)
