Doug & Sheri

Yay! I'm finally done with my shopping!

Well, I mulled it over and decided to brave the mall today. :P Surprisingly, it wasn't bad at all - in fact, there was no traffic on our way there, and we immediately found a nice close parking space! :) It really didn't feel like it was the last shopping weekend before Christmas - where the heck was everyone?

It's always so hard for me to shop for gifts for everyone. I always want to find the perfect thing, so I usually don't buy anything until the very last minute. :P This year, in addition to all the normal gifts I bought, I also had to do some major puppy Christmas shopping too. At our house, Sydney always gets gifts at Christmas - but besides Sydney this year, I had to buy gifts for my Mom's dog, Yuki and for Susan's puppy, Toby. The oddest thing is that I'm finding that I'm buying more puppy gifts this year than children gifts. :P

And I don't know if I mentioned it here, but this year our bank took away two of our major holidays. :( Since both Christmas and New Years fall on Saturdays this year (and technically a few of our branches are open on Saturdays) those branches are closed on Saturday for the next two weeks and those are considered our holidays. :P I know I shouldn't complain AT ALL, especially since I used to work in retail where we never had ANY holidays. But somehow this just doesn't seem fair. :P

On a much happier, very random theatre note: I finally have something wonderful to look forward to this February! :) I'm so excited! :D

I'm off to try to get some sleep. I've been napping at the oddest times this weekend and it's really thrown off my sleep schedule. :P I've been feeling like Collapse ) the whole day and then completely wide awake every night. :P I just know after lunch tomorrow I'll be falling asleep at my computer! :P

I know I sound like a broken record here...

...but Kevin's the best - he really is! Just got the sweetest email from him and boy he seems to be busier when he's NOT in a show than when he is. Which, BTW is the wonderful February news that I had been hinting about in my last entry. :) Not only am I thrilled because Kevin has a new show, but I'm even more excited about it because it's being directed by none other than Nick DeGruccio! *SIGH* What could be better than seeing my two favorite LA theatre men at one show? I'm so excited! :D

So, in light of the good news, I spent some time last night looking at priceline for some ideas of airfares. :) The timing of it all seems to work out wonderfully, though since there are so many things I want to see in the area during that time. Hopefully Julie Jackson will get cast in a show during that timeframe too - Fullerton CLO is doing "Miss Saigon" and I think she'd be a perfect Ellen. ;) Of course it's always been a bad habit of mine to "dream" cast all my favorites in every audition notice that I see. ;)

I'm also thinking of planning a trip to NYC in January with my Mom. She still has her credit with Delta that she needs to use before March and it would be nice to take her to NYC since she hasn't been there in over three years. I know she'd love to see "Little Women" and "Avenue Q" and she'd just love the eating places up there. :) I think we'd have a lot of fun... Hopefully, I'll be able to find a fare that I can afford (and if all else fails, I could always use FF miles for LA). :)

Amazing what a little theatre trip can do for my spirits. :) Suddenly, I'm feeling much more refreshed and as if I can tackle any work problem that comes my way. I'm actually feeling much more motivated to save money and get back on my diet than I was just a few days ago. I know, I'm pathetic. :P

I'm off to search for airfares. :) Hope you all have a nice evening! :)
