Doug & Sheri

Called in sick to work today...

...ever since Saturday I've had a fever, sore throat, body aches,... you name it. :P It feels like I've been getting ill more and more lately and I can't figure out why... My supervisor jokingly whispered under his breath that it was probably due to my old age - to which I told him, "I may be old, but my hearing is still fine and I heard that!" ;) Yesterday I could barely even carry out a simple thought - so after reviewing trades, I thought I'd do my office a favor and go home.

I'm still running a low grade fever and for some reason my sore throat won't go away, but all in all I'm feeling much better than I did yesterday. Hopefully I'll be feeling okay enough to go into the office tomorrow - we have a HUGE rep meeting that I have to attend AND a bunch of interviews I need to be there for...

BTW, to clarify any type of misconception in my last post, I just wanted to say that I'm incredibly grateful that Kevin was nominated for an Ovation... And I'm not going to lie and say I'm not disappointed that Misty and Nick didn't get nominations, but I think what I should've said was that my disappointment lies with the Ovations eligiblity requirements rather than the simple fact that my favorites were not recognized. It really comes down to the fact that I'm not sure that I believe that pre-Broadway runs like Curtains or The Drowsy Chaperone should be Ovation eligible... Not that I didn't LOVE those shows or that I don't think that they're worthy, but if the Ovations are truly to celebrate excellence in LA theatre, I think that's who should be eligible... people who work hard making a living in LA and help to further the LA theatre community. Shows like Curtains and Drowsy Chaperone are wonderful and I love them, but they'll get their own recognition... at the Tonys. And yes, it's very flattering that Kevin has been nominated with the likes of David Hyde Pierce and Bob Martin - but how about some other deserving LA theatre performances this year? (i.e. Andrew Samonsky in tick, tick, BOOM! or even French Stewart in Little Egypt and many, many others - I'm sure)

Sorry... my apologies for going off on a tangent about the Ovations. I did hear from Kevin and he's always so gracious about all things of this nature... I could probably take a lesson or two from him. BTW, he's loving the sun and golfing in Escondido - just like I knew he would. The trouble may be getting him to come back when his show is over. ;)

Better run - it's time for me to look for my fuzzy dog and pass out for a few hours... Hope you're all having a nice week. *HUGS*
