Doug & Sheri

So... after all my heavy posts about religion and politics...

...I thought I'd start this entry off with something REALLY frivolous... I cut about 8 inches off my hair today and dyed it back to its natural dark brown color... It's VERY different, to say the least. :P After years of having lightened highlighted hair, I just decided the lowest maintenance hairstyle was simply to go back to my roots... so to speak. :P It'll REALLY take some getting used to on my part... :P The good news is that Mark likes it - he's been trying to get me to cut my hair for a while now (don't ask me why, but he prefers shorter hair on me...) and it was really his idea to color it back to my natural color. And I really like my new hairstylist, she did a really good job on it, but it's just such a HUGE change for me! :P

On a less frivolous note, I wanted to thank all of you for your beautiful and supportive comments in my last post... I was afraid to write it, in a way, because of the sensitive subject matter, but you all have been extremely wonderful and supportive about it all. There's still a lot of soul-searching that I need to do - and I've begun to realize that it's less about what others think and more about the conflict I feel between my personal beliefs and my faith. But I did want to thank you all and let you know how much all of your comments have meant to me. BIG *HUGS* to all of you!!

Also, on a non-frivolous note... Even though work was ridiculous on Friday, I took some time to stop by our local Satellite City Hall to vote by absentee ballot. :) I knew who I wanted to vote for, but I needed some time to study the proposed amendments. It still surprises me that most people my age don't even take the time to go down and vote these days. :( It would be a shame if the leaders of our government are chosen (or not chosen), not due to the popular vote, but due to voter apathy. :P

And finally on one last EXTREMELY frivolous note... this weekend, I've been doing a lot of cleaning up and recording my old VHS tapes to DVD so I can finally put them all away in storage somewhere. Watching the tapes as I recorded them made me realize something this weekend... Paul Anthony Stewart and Joie Lenz (now Bethany Joy "Lenz" Galeotti of One Tree Hill - which I've never seen) were THE BEST soap opera couple in the history of soaps... Anyone remember them as Danny and Michelle Santos? They were just magical together!! But, shhh... don't tell Chad I said that! ;)

I'm off to work on Lisa's site a bit and do some much needed updates to Bets and Julie's sites. :) Hope you've all been well - I've missed you guys! :(
