Aloha Job Fair

I worked the entire day at the Aloha Airlines Job fair at the Blaisdell Center. It was a special job fair coordinated by the Mayor and sponsored by our company to bring together employers from major companies around our island so that the 1,900 or so employees who lost their jobs when Aloha Airlines went out of business, could look at opportunities and apply.

It was a very emotional day... Lots of people showed up and many were with Aloha for more than a decade. There were some people in their mid-40's or so - too young to retire, but not young enough to really want to start over... I felt so bad for everyone there! :( And because I flew Aloha for so many years, I even was able to recognize some of the flight attendants. :(

Puts a lot of things into perspective... I know I complain a lot about my job at times... A LOT. I've never NOT been thankful for my job, but today just made me realize just HOW blessed and thankful I am.
