Michael - Kings2

Schwartz Concert... Damn. :)

My friend and great theatre critic Steven Stanley was nice enough to write a review of the Schwartz concert on Monday night... which I would've given anything to attend.

I loved reading his entire review, but this is what caught my eye...

Michael Arden celebrated same-gender love in a sweet boy-loses-boy version of Pippin’s “I Guess I’ll Miss The Man.” (Thanks Michael!)

AHHHH! I SO wish I'd been there to see that! I thought he'd sing "Corner of the Sky" or "Morning Glow" or something I'd heard at the many times I'd seen Pippin, but this? Damn.

Reminds me of the Fractured Broadway Concert a long time ago that had Sean McDermott and Kevin singing a Brokeback Mountain version of "I Know Him So Well." That was really one of my favorite concerts ever - since it was also the concert that had Julie Dixon Jackson and Misty singing "You're Nothing Without Me" and Adam Lambert (before his AI glory) singing "I Am Changing." That concert, even if it was 3 years ago sticks in my head as the best concert I'd ever been to.

But, yes... wish I'd been there to see Michael, David Burnham, Tami, and the others perform - this one might have given that a run for its money...
