Diet? What diet? Our adventure in food (in pictures)...
Last night Mark & I went out to dinner with Susan & Frederick

to Shokudo (a new Japanese restaurant that opened up across the street from my old bank branch!) The food there was pretty delicious, but it's definitely NOT the place to go if you're trying to watch those calories! :P

We had a wonderful time! The food was great and we had the most amazing thing for dessert!! Mark and I ordered the Warm Honey Toast - which we had heard was basically toast with honey and vanilla ice cream... How harmful could that be, right? The waitress warned us that it was pretty big and that we might want to share it, but we didn't listen... When it came we were completely shocked!

We've definitely learned our lesson! The next time someone tells us it's better to share something, we'll believe them!! The dessert itself was delicious! Inside the crusts of the bread were smaller squares of bread that were cut out, fried and drizzled with honey. It was the perfect compliment to the vanilla ice cream and one of the best things I've ever eaten! Next time Mark & I go back we have to order it again, but next time - we're sharing!

I think it's been about three months (or so, maybe longer) since I've seen Susan and I've really missed spending time with her. :( While we were in the Jaycees we were nicknamed "twins"

because everyone had such a hard time telling us apart (I think on several occasions we were mistaken for each other!) Now that there's no Jaycees, I miss getting to spend time with my "twin!" :( I'm so glad that we got to spend some time together last night. :D

Hope you're all having a nice Sunday, I'm off to get some work done on Kevin's site. Big *HUGS* :)

It was so yummy! And imagine our faces when it arrived! The description said two pieces of toast, we thought it would be NORMAL pieces of toast, but NO... :)

It was really delicious! Have you been there? It's at the corner of Kapiolani and Kaheka (right where Bank of Honolulu used to be) - it's a shame they aren't open for lunch... You should try it, it's a great place to eat!

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT TOAST!!!

So. Didja eat it all?
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on September 19th, 2005 09:13 am (UTC)
Haha! I was shocked too! When they said toast, I thought they meant regular slices of bread... not those gigantic things!

So. Didja eat it all?

I tried my hardest and even enlisted the help of Susan, but alas, it could not be done... ;)

Ok, where is this Shokudo place. I need address, phone number and the best way to get there from the airport. Give up the info now and no one gets hurt. ::plots trip to Hawaii for dessert::

Ahaha! :D You'd love it, I know you would (and it'd be well worth the trip too!) ;)

I was completely shocked when it arrived - I've never seen toast that big before! :) But you're right, one of the nicest parts of the evening was getting to see Susan! :)

Awww, thanks! I'd feel so blessed if I had a sister like Susan, but alas, I'm an only child. :( But as they say, "Friends ae the family we pick", right? :D

*HUGS* to you! :)

Something sweet sounds so good right now and I bet that toast would do the trick! How much would FedEx charge to deliver it? ;) Seriously though, it looks yummy. :)
