Obviously all the stress at work has been getting to me... ;)
It was the oddest thing - the entire day I couldn't figure out which day it was. :P I got up this morning in a panic because I thought I was late for work... :P Luckily I realized it was Saturday before I did something stupid like jump in the shower at 7am! :P To make matters worse, when I woke up from an unintentional nap this afternoon (darn my laptop for being located on my bed...) I could've sworn it was Sunday - I even emailed Bets a "Hope your closing night was great." :P I wish all the conversion stress at work would end since it really has turned me into a basket case at home. :P

Spent the majority of the morning working on Bets' site and tweaking it for the new official domain. I was able to finish it all this morning (and put up the wonderful backstage photos she sent me of "On The Town") and transfer everything to BetsMalone.Com. :) And not to get overly sentimental or anything... but lately, I've been realizing just how lucky I am. I love working on websites to begin with, but to be able to do something I love for people I really admire has really been a dream come true for me. :)

In great trip news, the department head approved my business trip for November (YAY!) so I've been making tentative plans in and around the LA area for before and after the conference. :) I was able to get a hotel room in the Glendale area through Priceline for only $46 a night! :) (It's at an Extended Stay America chain - which isn't the best, but not bad at all for the price!) I'm also looking at shows in the area and I know I'm definitely seeing Julie Dixon Jackson in "The Wild Party" on the 12th, "Drowsy Chaperone" sometime that weekend, "Open Window" at the Pasadena Playhouse, and I definitely have to see Kristi Holden in "Bark!". I haven't committed to any ticket purchases yet, because I want to see what appears on Goldstar first (yes, this is going to be my theatre trip on a very tiny budget!) I also want to make sure that Kristi is in the night I see "Bark!" so I haven't committed myself to a date yet...

In other trip news, Mark leaves for Japan in just three days. :) He's very excited about the trip, but I suspect he'll begin to have his usual travel stress (and will start to stare into his suitcase and mumble to himself) around Monday or Tuesday night. ;) I also got an email from Susan yesterday asking if I wanted to go out to dinner when Mark was gone. Gotta love her, she knows that even though I'd never admit it, I'll be lonely the two weeks that he'll be gone. :(

And Sydney is such an eternal optimist! She sat so patiently in front of me today as I ate through a big bag of baked Ruffles - she was so full of hope that I'd actually give her one. I've never given her one before, and yet she still sat there looking so hopeful that this time would be different. Or maybe she was just waiting for me to drop a crumb... either way, it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. :)

Hope you all have a nice evening! :)

Haha, I haven't done that in awhile, recently I did get in the shower with my socks on though, not sure it that relates... and awsome, Mark going to Japan, I wish I could travel with my job, yu two are lucky.

Haha! I've done things like that too! :D I'm so excited for Mark's trip - he's never been to Japan - so I know he'll have a great time! I just wish I was able to go with him...

I have a co worker named Kazuto who is from Japan, it's such a kick to sit and talk to him, his English isn't very good at all... I just love his mannerisms, so different than I'm used to. As corny is it might sound, I can see so much of "The code of the Samurai" in this guy. I hope Mark can take some pics and you can post them....;D

Haha! :) I'll definitely post some photos that Mark takes on his trip (I hope they aren't all of food this time!) ;)

Hey now, food pics are more than welcome...:D

That's so cute! (Sydney and the Ruffles stare).

Sheri, during what general range of calendar dates in November are you going to be in L.A. for the conference?...because there's a chance I might be visiting friends in L.A. sometime in November also (specific date undetermined as of yet), and that would be awesome if we happened to be able to cross paths!

Haha! Ruffles stare - I like it. :D

Yay for your possible trip to LA! I'll be in LA from November 12-14th and then again from Nov 18th - 20th. :D

Well, I'll probably be calling later today or tomorrow for tickets for Pump Boys at the El Portal, matinee, on 11/13. Shout out if you decide to do it (it is a short show, so you should be able to make your evening show), and we'll see about getting together.

I'm still unsure if I'll be able to go... A friend of mine who posts on a message board I frequent is in a show during the first weekend I'm there too and I really want to see him in it. I'll definitely let you know if I do decide to buy tickets. :)

I'm sorry to hear about work. I hate Drama I really do.

Gotta love Syd.... she can always put a smile on your face. That is an awesome moment....

Everytime you are at work and things get to be too much.... stop for a second, close your eyes and think of the look on Syd's face as she longed for that chip, and it will make you smile, you'll feel better. Then open your eyes and go back to your work. :o)

If only it was that simple eh?

Thanks so much for your wonderfully sweet comment, Stacey! You know what puts a big smile on my face? YOU! Big *HUGS* to you, Stacey - you're the best!! :)

YAY for me. I do what I can.

Give the fuzzy dog a Extra big hug for me!
karmastyxkarmastyx on October 2nd, 2005 06:35 pm (UTC)
Haha my dogs do that too... they always bug Tommy for chips. At times he caves in. BAD TOMMY!
Sheri: Please?shutterbug93 on October 3rd, 2005 06:53 am (UTC)
Haha! Sometimes I cave in too - they just look so cute! :) I was pretty firm with the Ruffles though. ;)
ex_angeldove677 on October 3rd, 2005 12:22 am (UTC)
I've done that a few times. Thinking the next day is school for Rachel. And I'd say, "I gotta make you lunch for tomorrow!!!" "Moooommm!!!!" she'd reply, "Tomorrow is Saturday!!!" LOL!!! Ah well. Yeah, that is a great price for a hotel. Normally they are ultra expensive. Glad to hear you're seeing more shows. BTW, baked ruffles sounds good and if I were Sydney I'd be begging for more too. LOL
Sheri: Please?shutterbug93 on October 3rd, 2005 06:51 am (UTC)
Haha! :D Such a cute story! :) Baked Ruffles are so delicious and only have about 2.5 grams of fat - I'm addicted to them! The only problem is that they don't sell them here in Hawaii so I have to bring them home in my carry on luggage when I go to LA! Insane, huh? :)

I can't help with "Drowsy Chaperone" - Ahmanson has been limiting comps to 1 per voter :(. And I've already seen "Bark" and would not choose to see it a second time.

If I'm not mistaken, Jerry Herman's "The Grand Tour" will be at the Colony during the time that you're here. I should be able to get comps for that and for the Pasadena Playhouse. (I can't promise for sure, as they haven't posted anything yet. Both these companies usually submit their productions for Ovation consideration, but they might limit what dates are available.) I'll let you know as soon as I learn anything -- that is, if you're interested.
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on October 3rd, 2005 06:49 am (UTC)
Oh Linda - you are the sweetest! :D I was able to buy my tickets to see "Drowsy Chaperone" earlier this morning for the matinee on the 12th for $20! Woo hoo for Hot Tix and people on the BroadwayWorld Message Board for clarifying the policy for me! :)

I was interested in seeing "The Grand Tour" at some point during my vacation there... I'd love to see you for more shows. It's so sweet of you to offer me your other comp ticket, but what I'm really looking forward to is your company! :) It's always so nice to see you!
