UGH! It's the start to the eating season, I can just feel it! :(
Something tells me that trying to start my healthy eating plan now would just be pointless... :P When we got to work this morning we all found a HUGE box of Halloween candy that the branch had left for us over the weekend. There was a cute orange note attached that thanked our department for our support throughout the year with a big "Happy Halloween!" on it. :) It was the sweetest thing! :) Of course, such a nice gesture couldn't go unnoticed, so I just had to try a Reese's peanut butter cup,...or two. ;)

And we were all SO happy, until we realized that this was the official beginning of the eating season. :( It always starts off really innocently with cute, tiny individually wrapped butterfingers... then Thanksgiving creeps up and before we know it, it's Christmas! *SIGH* There's NO WAY I'll be able to stick to my healthy eating plan...at least until the New Year. :P

Speaking of the holidays and eating - each year Susan, Frederick, Mark & I plan a really nice dinner somewhere to celebrate the holidays and this year it looks like we're going to L'Uraku. :) It's become sort of a tradition to hold our own Christmas party since Mark & Susan have been boycotting their company's party for the past few years. I love L'Uraku because it's really quaint (it has painted umbrellas hanging upside down from the ceiling) and the food is delicious and there are a lot of good memories associated with the place (it's where I held Susan's bridal shower last summer). Should be a lot of fun. :)

In LA trip news, I'm seriously considering volunteering for this year's Ovation Awards ceremony (I inquired about it a while ago and just recently got a really great reply). The only problem is that the night of the ceremony is the same night as "No, No Nanette" at Musical Theatre Guild. :( It's such a shame they're on the same night... I REALLY want to see Kristi in Nanette, but volunteering for the ceremony could be a great, once in a lifetime experience. I just don't know... The only thing I do know is that I'll have to decide soon... :(

On a similar LA theatre note, I spent most of the evening adding the wonderful photos that Bets sent over from her performance in "Once Upon a Mattress". They're hilarious - and seeing them reminded me that the thing I love most about all of her performances is her flawless comedic timing - she's absolutely hysterical! :)

And finally, Mark and I have been on a quest recently for somewhere in Hawaii that sells a particular pepper and bacon flavored pretzel snack that Mark found in Japan called "Cratz." I went to look at the Glico website, but it did me absolutely no good at all, since it's all in Japanese. :P It's a shame we can't find them, though because they're one of the best things I've ever eaten!

I'm off to take care of some emails. Hope you all have a nice evening. :)

If you want to get Japanese stuff. Why not ask at either Shirokiya or Daiae to stock it? Daiae is always stocking new stuff from Japan?

This weekend Mark & I tried Shirokiya, Daiei, and Marukai and it's nowhere to be found. :( In fact, Mark says that he was only able to find the "Cratz" in Hokkaido - and if he'd known they'd be that hard to find, he would've bought more. :(

Wow! You went all over the place to look? I wonder if you can ask them to bring it in? I figure they'd help you in that area. Bummers! If they do bring it here I'd like to try. *L*

I know what you mean about the eating season. I have really been working out hard to avoid the battle of the bulge.

Sheri, your Halloween Candybox & Orange Note story just sent me over the edge with laughter! Almost as funny as when that coworker of yours forced you to do the TV interview last summer. :-P

I know, I'm totally cruel, because I've been fasting since I'm spending a five-day weekend in Eau Claire.

Haha! I can't believe you still remember that frozen bread interview story! :) Have a great time in Eau Claire!! :D

Oh - you are so correct about that one! I've decided that I'm just going to try to maintain the 25 I've taken off over the summer & just get back to it in January! It's just too hard!!! :)

Wow! You've lost 25 pounds over the summer? That's SO incredible, I'm SO happy for you!! :) But I have to agree, the holidays are the worst time of the year for me (dieting wise) I always give in to the great food around me. :P

Ah! Zippy's chili!! When I lived on the mainland, I actually took frozen chili back with me in a cooler. :D Mmmmm. :)
