Too much food and no vacation day for me today... :P
We all must've gained a bunch of weight yesterday (including Sydney who was busy all afternoon scouting around under the table to pick up anything that may have dropped on the floor.) :P After a simply sinful lunch at the in-law's, we trudged over to my uncle's house and had more turkey, that incredible homemade stuffing, and an assortment of delicious pies. :) We left both places with SO many leftovers that I'm sure we'll be eating turkey sandwiches and turkey ala king for a long time to come!

This morning Mark is peacefully sleeping in (he doesn't have to go to work today) while I'm debating fighting the crowd at the mall near my workplace before I go in to work this morning... Traditionally one of the only nice things about working on the Friday after Thanksgiving has always been that I've been able to resist the temptation to go to these sales and spend money... But now that most stores in the mall open at 7am, AND some other stores nearby open at 5am, I really have no excuse any more... :P

What I'm really looking forward to is the weekend! Mark & I plan to go and see "Rent" and then go somewhere nice to celebrate our anniversary. :) I do have to keep reminding myself that to get to the weekend, I will have to make it through work today... ;P
Hopefully it'll be a slow day for us... :P

And sad, sad news in the entertainment industry... Pat Morita passed away yesterday at the age of 73. :( Not only was he the spokesperson for my company (for many years), but he was also an actor that I admired for what he was able to accomplish in spreading the word about his experiences in internment camps during WWII. I will always remember seeing him (when I was in the second grade) in "Farewell to Manzanar", which was one of the first movies I'd seen about the Japanese-American internment camps. He will definitely be missed. :(

I'm off to get ready for work (and possibly a short trip to the mall... we'll see...) Hope you all have a nice day. :)
Current Mood: fullstill FULL! :P

I never ate turkey. Does it taste like chicken?

I'm again and again surprised to hear your opening hours. Are there already many people when the stores open so early? Here some big stores, like Aldi for example, and the baker's shop open at 8:00 am. But, since they close later (at 8:00 pm), the other stores open between 9:00 and 10:00 am.

Even if you have to go to work, I hope you had a nice day.

Big *hugs* to you, Sheri

Turkey is a little like chicken, but with a more "gamey" taste to it... I enjoy it, but not enough to eat it when it isn't Thanksgiving.

Our stores here are CRAZY the day after Thanksgiving (traditionally the busiest retail day of the year). There are HUGE sales galore and the stores open extra early on that day to accommodate everyone. Usually our stores are only open from about 10am.

And thankfully I had a lovely day at work, thanks so much Sabine. :)

Big *HUGS* to you, Sabine! :D

Oh, shopping online - VERY smart!! I heard B&BW had a great online sale yesterday... $4.99 for all their air freshners! :)

Gee, wow lj is being weird. I finally got this reply to your comment today? SORRY!

I bought 3 lotions from the NEX, 2 of them were Plumeria and one was Sweet Pea. I love it! I wish I could go into the NEX and shop. HAHA!

Yummy you had a nice food fest! :) Sydney thanks you I'm sure. LOL.

My sister draged me along shopping this morning. Shopping is much different than working it. :| I really don't like either. Hmm oh well.

AWWW Pat Morita died? I really liked him as an actor.

Haha! Sydney sure did thank us, especially when we dropped pieces of potato and stuffing on the floor -- Ooops! :D

And I love shopping, but not in the crowds that were at the mall yesterday - it was ridiculous! I'm glad that Carrie took you shopping, it's great to experience the day after Thanksgiving from the consumer side once in a while. :)

Oh my word... Pearlridge was SO crowded yesterday!! It was so hard to get out of the parking lot at work! :( It'll be bad until Christmas, I can just feel it! :[

So sad about Pat Morita! He used to come into our bank all the time! :(
