LA... Again???
I'm getting VERY excited about my impending LA trip... it's only 4 days away! :D Got my tickets in the mail today for the "Fractured Broadway" concert - Row D - woo hoo!! It should be a fabulous evening - and even better is that two of my friends, Bobbie and Brooke are coming to see the concert too! I told them that Kevin and Adam were both performing and they couldn't pass it up - I'm so excited to see them since it feels like so long since I've seen them both. :D

Speaking of Kevin (which I wasn't really doing, but oh well...) he and Bets are going to be performing in Palm Springs this Sunday. I remembered him saying something about it when I saw him at "City of Angels," but I couldn't remember exactly what he said... Thankfully Bets mentioned it in her last email. It isn't a public concert (which is a shame) but the more exposure, the better, I always say. :)

In great website news, I just sent my co-worker who had been inquiring about my web design work a proposal for helping her husband re-design his website for his portrait studio. I took a look at their old site a few weeks ago and I think I'll be able to help save them a lot of money. Right now they're paying WAY too much for what they're getting (here's a link to their old site). Hopefully they'll be okay with my proposal and I can start working with them on some ideas soon.

In other news, Mark & I are trying our hardest to save money after all the traveling that we've been doing recently, so we decided not to go out to dinner this Valentine's Day. Instead, we're making a nice dinner at home and then using a great chocolate fondue recipe and having strawberries, pound cake, and bananas (dipped in chocolate) for dessert. :) I think in some ways that's much nicer than going out to a crowded restaurant to eat - it's definitely a lot more personal. :)

I'd better run - I'm off to feed the fuzzy dog who is right now trying her hardest to get my attention. Hope you're all having a nice weekend so far! :)

Have fun in your trip, Sheri. Geez, I wish I could travel as much as you. And yeah, dinner at home in Valentine's Day is good too. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Angela, this should be my last trip for a while (at least until after tax season) - I try to get all of my traveling done before the big tax season rush begins. :P

And for Valentine's Day dinner, I saw the fondue recipe and thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate and not fight the crowds (and traffic!) and save some money, in the process. :) Do you and Tim have anything special planned?

Hope you're having a nice weekend too! Don't study too hard!

I'm not sure what we're doing on Valentine's Day. It is the day that we randomly celebrate. Since our Wedding Anniversary is before Valentine's Day, we seemed to concentrate more on our day than the holiday per se.

Oh well, I've got to study hard, hon. Bummer. :(

I'm jealous you get to go to LA again!! :)

I'm just so thankful that my job is understanding enough to let me travel like I do. :) And maybe I'll get to meet you - like in July perhaps at the GHFCW? Woo! :D

Oh, it's so not good for our diets,... but someone very wise once told me, that holiday calories don't count. ;)

I know you'll have so much fun during your trip!!! :)

It's so sad that your co-worker's husband got ripped off so badly! :( I'm not sure why people think they can get away w/stuff like that. It's ok though, now they have your wonderful talent to help them!!! :D You'll make that page look so fabulous!!! :D

A nice dinner at home for Valentine's sounds so wonderful. In my opinion, I think it's better than going out. What a nice way to spend the evening with each other! :)

Thanks, Carrie! :)

I felt so bad for them about their site! They pay over $1,400 a year for maintenance and no one contacts them or even touches the site! It was created over 3 years ago and it hasn't been changed since... yet they're charging that much for "maintenance". Bleh!

In so many ways it's so much better than going out! We hate fighting traffic and restaurants are always so crowded on Valentine's Day... We'd much rather cook a nice dinner (with a special dessert) at home. :)

We never go out on Valentine's Day to eat, always eat at home. Joe hates the crowds.

You should get a second home in the LA area since you're there so often. :) Hahah!

Another thing Mark & Joe have in common!! Mark hates crowds too! :P We usually try to go somewhere, but this year we're really trying to save money (too much NYC...) so we thought a nice dinner (and dessert) at home would be nice. :)

You should get a second home in the LA area since you're there so often. :)

Ah!!! If only I could! Or at least move there... but then I'd be seeing shows every weekend and I'd be broke all the time... No, I guess this is better - at least it gives me the restraint I'm lacking otherwise. ;D

They are so alike... I swear, we gotta get them together. (Joe doesn't like meeting new people, he gets shy, but dump them in a room together with a 42" Plasma Screen, XBox, DVDs... hahahah!)

I look total evil in this icon, but I wanted to show you that I went back to my natural hair color. We were talking before about if it would be possible for either one of us to do that after getting highlights for so long, remember? It's taking me awhile to get used to it, although this is the haircolor I lived with for about 25 years - hahaha.

We went out to to a Polish buffet and then saw Brokeback Mountain yesterday for Valentine's Day. I think your plans sound great!!!
Sheri: Sheri - yahoo iconshutterbug93 on February 12th, 2006 07:52 pm (UTC)
You don't look evil in the icon AT ALL! And, WOW! I like it!! I've seriously been thinking about going darker (I don't know if I could go back to my natural shade, though...) I REALLY like this darker shade on you, though!!

Your Valentine's Day celebration sounded wonderful!

Wish you a nice time in LA. :)

Hope your co-worker and her husband like your proposal. I'm sure their website will look much better when you worked at it and I really would like to see it again then.

A dinner at home at the Valentine's Day sounds great to me. I never ate chocolate fondue but I think I would like it and the dessert sounds delicious. :)

Big *hugs* to you, Sheri. And please give Sydney also a hug from me. :)

Thanks, Sabine! And I hope that I'm able to help my former co-worker and her husband with their site... Right now they're paying waaay too much for it. I already have a few ideas in mind for it...

I've never had chocolate fondue before, but it looked so delicious we just had to see if we could try it. :)

Thanks so much for the *HUGS* Sabine! *HUGS* to you, too and please give one to Micki and Garry for me!

Have a great time in LA, Sheri!

Your Valentine's Day plan sounds great...I'm sure a night at home will be lovely. You get to spend time with each other without all the other distractions! Happy (early) Valentine's Day to both of you! :)
