Wow - the rain was just ridiculous today!! This almost feels like a repeat of my My Way trip last year... the rain was just awful here! So awful, in fact, that it took Linda three and a half hours to get from her home in Ventura to the theatre in Hollywood tonight. :( I felt SO bad for her, being stuck in all that awful traffic - and we'd planned to eat dinner before the show, but ended up going straight to the theatre because it would be too late. :(
The show itself was funny and campy and had a bunch of great catchy songs. :) Kevin was wonderful as usual and did a great job with all those high notes he told me about. :) The embarrassing moment came for me when Todd Fournier (who played a character named Steve) was singing "A Million Eyes". He had to go into the audience and serenade someone... I was sitting in the center aisle seat in the third row... guess who he picked to serenade? Oh my gosh, I turned beet red - he even started stroking my arm as he sang, I was ready to hide under my chair!! Later he saw me waiting to speak with Kevin and he teased me about it. I told him that I was coming back tomorrow, but I knew which seat not to sit in. ;) He laughed and said, "I'll find you!" :D He was very nice!
Kevin was his usual wonderful self. Guess who remembered to bring his new headshots? :) Well, I'm not sure if he remembered to bring them or if they just happen to be in his bag (because they had resumes stapled to them) :) He said that his episode of "Girlfriends" was going to air on the 27th. :) A bunch of people were there that night to see Kevin (including Mary Jo Catlett - who appeared with Kevin in Follies and numerous LA Stage concerts...) Got to meet Heather Marie Marsden - who was SO sweet and called me "Sheri-Lynn" (probably because she only knows me from MySpace.) :) Got to meet Cornell Christianson (the nicest guy) and Stephen Michael Swartz (who was very nice too.) The entire cast and creative team were all so warm and nice. We stayed around pretty late, but they were all still there when we left. :)
Later, Linda and I went to eat at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles (since we were running too late to go there before the show!) It was really nice to sit down and have a leisure meal without having to worry about making the curtain time. :) And it may seem like an odd combination, but fried chicken and waffles are actually really good together. :) I think Mark would really love that place! :) Too bad the parking situation is so horrible there! :(
Tomorrow I'm going to meet cahwyguy and his lovely family for the matinee of "Beyond" (Todd jokingly said I could get a hug from him after my second show) ;) and then I'm going back to watch them shoot the DVD of the show at the evening performance. :) I'd better run so I can actually get some sleep tonight. :) Hope you're all having a nice weekend - and for those of my LJ friends in southern CA, please be careful on the roads this weekend!!
