A weekend to recharge my batteries...
I've been around all weekend, but I apologize if I haven't really been around LJ... In addition to trying to get caught up on a lot of the things that I've needed to do around the house and catching up on some much needed sleep, I also got ambitious and decided to spend this weekend moving all of the files for Misty's site over to Dreamweaver so I can actually update it again. Seeing her at the concert on Monday made me feel horrible that I haven't updated her site for a long time. I did a lot of apologizing to her when I saw her on Monday and told her that I felt so horrible about neglecting it, but like the sweet person she is, she told me that she should be better about telling me what she has coming up... She was so sweet about it, but really there's no excuse for me not updating... and I really need to be better about it. :(

Speaking of the concert, I've been in a little bit of a funk recently and I'm not quite sure why... It might just be the let down after all the excitement of the concert on my last day in LA and fabulousness of seeing everyone or it could be because I have absolutely no theatre trips on the horizon (and won't for a while). Please don't get me wrong, I love my life, my job, and being home, but sometimes knowing I have a theatre trip coming up makes the stresses of work seem a little more bearable. It could also be because this trip was SO fabulous (it was really one of my best theatre trips so far!!) and I already wish I could go back...

The weekend itself has been a pretty relaxing one, I've been sitting around for most of it in iTune heaven listening to the "Beyond" Demo and remembering just what a wonderful trip it was. I also spent time watching the "Rent" DVD (at least three times,) and discovering new and interesting shows (like "What Not to Wear") on TLC and TV movies on "Lifetime" :) This might've been exactly the kind of weekend I needed, because after all of that, I think I'm finally ready to face another week of work again tomorrow. :)

I'm off to find my fuzzy dog, but before I go, I was tagged by broadway_rose, so I stole this... :)

What is yours?
Explain yourself
Culinary: French fries... actually all kinds of potatoes. Really I have an addiction to potatoes in pretty much any form. Baked, fried, chips, mashed, etc... No wonder I'm gaining weight like you wouldn't believe. :P
Literary: Soap Opera Fanfic - not sure if it qualifies as "literature," but oh well... Haha! No explanation can get me out of this one... I don't watch soaps anymore, but I still will read a good fanfic every now and them...
Audiovisual: American Idol I told Kevin that I had an unhealthy obsession with AI and he laughed and said it was better than his unhealthy obsession with "Skating with Celebrities" :D
Musical: Showtunes I think the fact that I listen to Musical Theatre songs primarily is pretty embarrassing in itself.
Celebrity: If Kevin Earley doesn't count - I'll have to say Paul Anthony Stewart Yes, he's been in "Fiddler" and "Cyrano the Musical" but the embarrassing part is that I adore him from his portrayal of Danny in "Guiding Light"... There's something very attractive about him, and I don't know what it is...

Now I tag:-

Edited to add: If anyone can, please watch Kevin on tomorrow night's episode of "Girlfriends". His part is VERY small, but it's his first TV appearance! :)

What time/channel does Girlfriends come on?!
Sheri: Kevin 2001 headshotshutterbug93 on February 27th, 2006 02:27 am (UTC)
Hmmm... I'm not really sure... I know it's on UPN, but I'm not sure about the airtime... Kevin's part is SO small, though... He plays "the husband" and he says if you blink, you'll miss him. Of course, I'll be glued to my TV. ;)

Thanks, Stacey!! :) You're so sweet!

Thanks for tuning in to see Kevin in Girlfriends!! He did warn me that his part is VERY small in the show!! He says if we blink we'll miss him, but I'm still looking forward to seeing him on my TV, especially since it's his first TV appearance. :D

You know, it may just be a walk in front of the camera, but if it's his first TV appreence then it's a HUGE deal! I will for sure watch!

Are they likely to be doing a CD of "It Came from Beyond"?
Sheri: Sheri & Kevinshutterbug93 on February 27th, 2006 02:34 am (UTC)
I asked Kevin about this during the show and he said that he didn't think they would, but didn't know for sure. The questionnaire that they passed out looked like they were checking to see if there was interest in a CD... Cornell was nice enough to let me know that he'll keep me informed of all the latest "It Came From Beyond" news so if I hear anything, I'll surely let you know.

Me too, please.

Must... have... songs...

Most definitely! :)

Sheri, I've been meaning to ask you this for awhile - - but as a non-theatre (in terms of my familarity level) person, what would you recommend is the first theatre show (or several of the first shows) I should see once I'm living in L.A.? (especially if you and Mark are in town to visit!)...just in terms of what performances in the theatre might appeal to me?
Sheri: John & Rodshutterbug93 on February 28th, 2006 09:07 am (UTC)
Wow! That's a pretty difficult question! I'm not too sure of your tastes in shows, but I think you'd like "Avenue Q" - it's upbeat, hilarious, and very quirky (and it's going on tour soon...) :) When will you be in LA? When Mark & I are there we should meet up for a show or something. :)

A nice relaxing weekend is what you need time to time. :) Did you see the episode of What Not To Wear with the worst dressed woman in government? I saw that this weekend. It was great. :)

I'll have to do that meme pretty soon. :D

You know I'll be watching Kevin's first TV appearance. HOW EXCITING!!! :D I'll probably even tivo it lol. :P
Sheri: Kevin 2001 headshotshutterbug93 on February 28th, 2006 09:15 am (UTC)
I did see that episode! :) I thought it was SO touching when the woman began to cry after seeing how she looked with her new hairstyle and make up. It was a great episode! :)

And sadly tonight wasn't the right episode. :( Oh well, maybe next week... Thanks so much for trying to watch it, Carrie! Big *HUGS*

Well you've done three threatre trips in two months already! I'm bummed that I don't have any theatre tix at this moment! Horror! I'm sure I'm going to see The Chorus Line (revival) and High Fidelity in SF, and some Music Circus this summer, but other than that, I don't have any immediate plan, which is depressing. Maybe it's a good time to save $$ -- NOT.

That's what I keep telling myself... maybe this is just a really good time for me to save up some money for my next trip. Still, sometimes when I'm drowning in paperwork at work it's depressing that I have no theatre trip to save me... :P

Haha, I'm sure it looks funny when I'm cranking showtunes on my way to work and I end up at the red light and people look over and are like, um, big rough looking, shaved head, goatie and showtunes?....lol Gotta love it.
Sheri: Kevin as Billy Bigelow in shutterbug93 on February 28th, 2006 09:18 am (UTC)
Haha!! You know, you're my kind of guy, Doug! Any guy who listens to showtunes is VERY high on my list! :D

I'm in the same funk, too. I know exactly what you mean. *hugs* I hope you feel better soon!

I've been very into Rent lately! And What Not To Wear is just the ultimate in comfort tv to me. :)

That quiz looks fun...I may try it later!

Thanks so much, Karen - after reading your recent entry it sounds like we're going through something similar. :( Hope you feel better soon, too! Big *HUGS* to you!

I don't know why it took me so long to discover "What Not To Wear," but I love it! :D

And I'd love to see your answers to the meme. :D

I know exactly how you feel. For most of last week I was completely depressed and could not get motivated to do anything. The weekend was just so full of happiness that coming back to normalcy was ROUGH. And I know what you mean about having a trip lined up. It's so much better to come home knowing you'll be going back again, for sure!

I hope you feel better soon. ♥

Thanks so much, Gill - I'm usually really happy to be back and it isn't this hard getting back to my normal routine, but somehow this time was different. I already want to go back there! I hope you're feeling better too! :( Big *HUGS* to you!
