Please keep me FAR away from expensive office equipment...
...So, last week at work I got the distinction of being the first person in my office to break our new copy machine... :P I was very innocently copying licensing forms when one of those "sign here" stickies that home office had hidden in the forms got stuck on a sensor. We actually had to call the repair man for the first time since getting the machine in August to have him remove it - and I've never been so teased about anything in my life... :P

Unfortunately my horrible luck with machinery doesn't end there. Shortly after that, I just happened to be using our office's fax machine when it suddenly decided to break on us! :P I swear, I'm SO cursed when it comes to office equipment! If you have a copy machine, fax, or printer that you want to keep safe -- please keep it FAR away from me! :P My boss thought it was the most hilarious thing and she'll probably never let me live it down. :D Since then whenever someone's having trouble with the copy machine she yells out, "Did Sheri-girl break it again?" :D *SIGH* I'm branded for life...

Speaking of work, tax season seems to be going pretty smoothly this year. *knocks wood* The brunt of the stress and anxiety is probably yet to come, but I think I'm actually ready for it this year. It never fails to amaze me each year how the number of people who wait until the very last minute to open up IRAs & make contributions just seems to grow! But I can hardly talk since Mark has yet to do our own taxes... :P Ooops! :P

I let my Mom borrow my RENT dvd today... She wanted to finally see what all my fuss lately was all about so I let her borrow it. She's pretty liberal for a Mom so I don't really worry too much about her reaction to it. I hope she likes it, but not TOO much... I let her borrow my season 1 of "West Wing" and didn't think I'd ever see it again. ;)

On an American Idol note, Mark was happy that Lisa didn't go home tonight, because she's one of his favorites. He's been feeling a lot of stress lately because she's been consistently in the bottom three. :( I loved it when she sang "I Am Changing" the first week of semi-finals, but since then, I think her song choices have been too safe. It's a shame though because she's very talented. My favorite is still Katharine - I loved that she sang a great showtune last night - "Come Rain or Come Shine". Julie Dixon Jackson sang it (with William Martinez) at the Fractured Broadway concert last month and it's hard to hear it sung better than that, but Katharine's version was great and ended up being one of my favorite performances of the night.

And speaking of theatre, Mark & I are going to see "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" next week Thursday night at Diamond Head Theatre. Hopefully he and I won't forget to go, like we did with "Aladdin" back in December! :( We've been pretty pleased with the quality of theatre at Diamond Head and we're happy to renew our season tickets next year. I'm hoping next year they have as diverse a season as they did this year. I'd love to see shows like "Parade," OR "Baby" performed there. :)

I'm off to hug my fuzzy dog (who is right now snoring very loudly next to me!) :) Hope you all have a nice evening. *HUGS*

That is one difference between Mark and Joe... I'd never be able to get Joe to go to the theatre with me. Ever. He dislikes musicals/plays with a passion. have no idea why. (He's never been.) But he swears that he hates singing. :P

Anyway, I can sympathize with the breaking of office equipment. When I worked in the contractor's office I had that problem and mine went as far as the copy machine, fax AND the microwave! They teased me to no end. ;)

Mark started off hating theatre too... He'd only seen one musical, POTO and he was convinced that all musicals were exactly like it. It wasn't until seeing Avenue Q and the other non-traditional shows on Broadway did he realize that he loved them. :)

Oh, I forgot about the microwave!! I have yet to break that... but there's still next week! ;)

Joe would love Avenue Q... I think he even mentioned wanting to see it at one point. Hmm.

I hope you don't break the microwave. ;)

You should see it!! It's going to start touring this summer (I believe) and I'm sure it'll make its way up north. It's the most hilarious show I've ever seen!! :)

I tried to get him to see West Side Story with me once..you know, there's fighting!! :D But he said he would not go because of the singing and dancing WHILE fighting. Haha! I wish he'd just try it once.

LOL Sheri... braking the copy machine. LOL

Here's a idea:

Create a note From the Copy Machine to the office staff, stating, that you are it's favorite employ... and that you didn't brake him, yet, he was tired of everyone pushing his buttons and just got mad.

Somebody has to be the first person - sorry to hear that it was you :( ... but, well, I couldn't help I had to smile too when I read about your experience with office equipment.

Actually, I'm sure you both will not forget to go to "The Mystery of Edwin Drood". Hope you will like it!

Hope you had a nice day, Sheri. Big *hugs* to you. :)

Hope you're having a nice weekend, Sabine!! Big *HUGS* to you!!

When I worked in the office at Sears, I was the one who always had to fix the machines. I worked with women in the 60's and they always broke the machines... since I was the young girl, I automatically must have known how to fix them. LOL

Yay!! We should hire you for our office, Laura!! You can fix all the things that I break! :D

I once applied for a postion at a copier company. One gentleman told me, "All copiers do two things - They make black marks on paper and they break." ;)

Haha! VERY true!! :D
