Yay, it's so nice to be home!! :)
The flight home was okay (and more importantly for me... it was uneventful!!) ;) except that I felt really bad for the poor person sitting next to me! He was coughing and sneezing and hacking all over the place. :( The poor thing must've felt miserable being so sick on the flight! :( I felt really bad for him! And leave it to the wonderful service on (an airline that will remain nameless), but as we were landing he asked the flight attendant if she had tissues and she just told him, "Yeah, in the bathroom" and did absolutely nothing to help him. :P Poor guy! :(

On a TV note, I think my hubby's going through AI withdrawal. ;) Last night he was flipping channels looking very forlorn because there was no AI to watch. I'm sort of glad it's done... it took so many hours out of my evening every week and even when I should have been doing productive things (like working on my sites), I couldn't help but sit uselessly in front of the TV to watch it... maybe now I can actually update LJ on Tuesday nights. ;)

On an Kevin note.... WOW!! The section A seating for Kevin's concert with the Philharmonic has sold out! It's a good thing I got the tickets for hubby and I before I left on my trip... :) Just crossing my fingers that the Johnny Guitar tickets will appear on Goldstar for the weekend that I'll be there! Anyone interested in catching a showing of it with me the weekend of June 17th? :)

This weekend is the wedding of a good friend of mine. She was my college roommate and my maid of honor at my wedding almost eight years ago... She spent several years on the mainland doing her residency in Minnesota and LA and in that time we sadly grew apart... so much so that I don't even know her current friends and I wasn't even aware, until she sent the invitation, that she was getting married... It'll be so nice to see her again, but maybe a little bit awkward... It's so sad when friends grow apart. :( The last time I really saw her was at her Yakudoshi party (the traditional Japanese 32nd birthday party for women) four years ago. I've never even met her future husband! :( Now, more than ever, it just reminds me how important it is for me to nurture the friendships that I currently have...

Well, I'm off to get some rest... Hope you all are having a nice week! Big *HUGS* to you!!

Current Mood: awakeawake, but I shouldn't be...

Thanks Doug!! Thankfully I don't think I caught anything from that guy... but I did feel sorry for him, he sounded just miserable! :(

Glad you trip home has been unenventful. On the growing apart notes. I totally agree it's nothing more disapointing when you see a person, you've once been kind of close to and you can't think of any single topic you could talk about. That's what happens to me all the time. I feel totally out of place...

"to nurture the friendships that I currently have..." good said. I would have said the same.

Anyway, glad to have you back *big hugs*

It happens to me a lot too. :( And I have to admit that I have been (in the past) rather bad about keeping in touch with people. :( For my friend who's getting married, I haven't seen her in over three or four years... It's so sad when friends grow apart. :(

Thanks so much for your sweet comment, Hanna!! Big *HUGS* to you - I've missed you!

Welcome back, Sheri! I'm glad to hear that your flight back home was uneventful. :)

I agree completely that it's sad when friends grow apart. But, perhaps, you can find back to your friendship or at least to parts of it. At any case, I hope that you will enjoy the wedding. And all the best to your friend, I hope their marriage will be happy. :)

And, do you like to tell what a Yakudoshi party means? Is the 32nd birthday something special?

Hope you had a nice day. Big *hugs* to you, Sheri!

Thanks so much, Sabine! Thankfully it was uneventful and I actually did make it on the plane this time. ;)

And a Yakudoshi party is a party to celebrate a woman's 32nd birthday. It's a Japanese belief that the 32nd year is especially disasterous and to ward off evil spirits, they throw a HUGE birthday celebration for women turning 32. For men it's age 41...

Thanks so much for your comments, Sabine! I'm really looking forward to the wedding. :) Big *HUGS* to you!!

Glad you got home safe and sound!

You guys could always start watching Canadian Idol... :) Do you have access to any channels that show it?

Have a wonderful time at the wedding this weekend...perhaps this will be a nice chance for you guys to reconnect!

Thanks, Karen!! And I was so happy I actually made it one the plane this time! ;)

And sadly, no... we don't have Canadian Idol here. :( If we did, I know if would be a HUGE hit with Mark... He seems so lost without AI. ;)

Thanks so much for your comments, Karen!! Big *HUGS* to you!!

My dad was flying out to England tonight, and he is notoriously late for checking in and flights...he leaves everything until the last minute and the rest of us panic, even if we're not travelling with him, while he relaxes and stays calm. :) I was at work when he left today, but apparently he didn't allow any time for mishaps on the way to the airport - and it turns out there were quite a few...they almost didn't let him on the plane, because he got to the airport too late! :)
