I actually had fun at the party last night.
Imagine that! :) Just wanted to thank you all for your well-wishes which must have worked because no one was more surprised than I was that I actually had fun last night. :) Yes, there were still the loud, sometimes overbearing people from work there, and yes, the situation was still rather uncomfortable being in such a social setting with all my bosses and my boss' bosses, but all in all it was a nice evening.

It was a nice opportunity to see some people from other branches who I had worked with in the past, but hadn't seen for a while and it was really nice to just spend time talking with the people from my branch. The food was - different - I think they wanted to go with a Cajun theme since the theme of the entire evening was Mardi Gras, but unfortunately I wasn't enjoying it all that much...

Here's a photo we took there of all the people who qualified from my branch. The quality is a bit bad, though because it's a scan of a polaroid. :P

For some odd reason, this morning I was in a major cleaning mood (happens rarely, you know);) so I decided to go through the downstairs hallway closet. I found some table assignment cards left over from our wedding down there! I guess no one really went through any of that stuff in well over 5 years... :P Took out our formal Wedding Albums (which were in two HUGE ass boxes at the bottom of the closet) and sat there for about half an hour looking at it for the first time in maybe 4 and a half years. I have another snapshot album of candids of the wedding taken by our family and friends that I look at much more than the "real" album... Gee, I spent a HUGE sum of money on photography for my wedding - and I rarely even touch my formal albums... :P

That is a great picture! I think it came out nice. It's great you have a fun time at the party. I love those orchid leis!

Is it really humid where you are? There is absolutely no trade winds and it's raining...

Thanks Rayna. :) The picture quality wasn't as bad as I thought it would be considering it was a polaroid. And I think everyone who went had fun - and that's what made the evening so nice. :) And I loved the Orchid leis, too - my boss (the guy sitting in the middle) bought them for all the girls who qualified for the party. :)

And gosh...YES...it's humid....and no trades... :P *gasp* At least it's not raining in Ewa...yet. ;)

I keep seeing people with those orchid leis, they are really nice. It's also really kewl, seeing how they're put together.

Ugh...there is absolutely no wind here, it's like I'm in a sauna.

Thanks, Carrie. :) I think the best part was that everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and that made the evening fun. :) Hope you had a nice weekend. :)

Nice Pic! =)

Hey who shot your wedding may I ask?
Sherishutterbug93 on June 2nd, 2003 10:57 pm (UTC)
Thanks! :) And Garrett Nose shot my wedding. :) I had always admired his work - I especially loved his use of the skylight in the courthouse (which is where we did our pre-bridals).

The only other photographers I was thinking about at the time were Andrew Ishikawa (only because I had worked with him a few times assisting on weddings during my off time...) or Eugene Kam - who has a more personal look to his photos than Garrett, IMO.

Does your boyfriend shoot weddings?

My friend also used Garrett Nose, and her pics came out awesome. I heard he was one of the best wedding photog. out there.

My boyfriend shoots weddings occasionally, it's slowly picking up. But he's been doing a lot of corporate stuff lately, business dinner parties, awards, etc.. It's been slow but we're both hopeful. Hopefully we'll be able to save enough and get more equipment and eventually get more business.
