Apparently, Mark & I are traveling during one of the worst times - security wise - for the airline industry in a long time... I understand and appreciate the need for heightened security and I did travel to and from NYC during those frightening days shortly after 9/11 so I understand the need and the reasons for this, but it never fails, I always seem to travel at the wrong time. :P Thank goodness our flight is tomorrow morning and not today! The morning news showed the line at our local airport and I think that tomorrow Mark & I should arrive for our flight at least three hours in advance! :P

Oh well... in other news, Mark is having EXTREME travel stress. Of course all this news of heightened security on flights doesn't help his stress at all. He's worried we won't make our flight, that even if we do make our flight we'll be so delayed we'll miss our evening show that night, he's worried about the lines at LAX when we come home... Add to that his usual stress of packing the right things and just traveling in general and it all adds up to a very grouchy hubby. :P He and I are like night and day... I love the unknown - he fears it. I think that's part of the reason he doesn't like to travel like I do and the reason I tend to do a lot of traveling by myself. :P

In any case, we leave early tomorrow morning... My major stress lies in the uncertainty that I'll actually get everything done at work that I need to before I leave. Amidst all the things piled on my desk that I need to get to, my BIG boss wanted me to be present at our big rep meeting yesterday to take minutes. Normally I don't mind, but with SO much going on right now and me trying desperately to finish everything before I leave for LA tomorrow, I was a bit overwhelmed by the thought of having to waste a half a day taking minutes at a meeting...

My apologies to all for the lack of comments recently. I will definitely catch up on all of your journal entries tonight and respond to all of your comments. Right now, I'm running a wee bit late for work (but what else is new?) ;P

I actually think spending that much time with no reading material, surrounded by bored children would be worse than anything a terrorist could do. ;-)

Good luck!

Haha!! Very true! :P

Thanks!! :)

I was just telling Joe that I am *so glad* that we are driving to Tucson and not flying like we'd originally planned. I am not afraid to fly, but the delays and the security. We'd have a two hour layover at LAX. So I am glad we are driving. :) To bad you guys can't drive!!

Joe has packing anxiety too, although I don't think to the extent of Mark's. Joe makes me sit there while he packs so he can be sure he's packing the right things. THis time, though, I took the liberty to start packing for him. (Getting him to pack is like pulling teeth!)

I hope you get all your stuff done at work that you need to get done. I hate that rushed feeling. HUGS

I wish there was a way that we could drive too... :P I've always thought that you all on the mainland were so lucky - I mean, I hate flying under most normal circumstances (though you'd never be able to tell by the amount that I fly...) I really wish there was some other way to get to LA... :P

Our hubbys - they're WAAAY too similar!! We really must get them together one day! :D

Thanks so much for your comment! :) Have a safe trip too!!!

I agree, they ARE way too similar and Mark and Joe must meet!! :D

Thank you, we made it here in one piece... but what a long drive it was.

I hope there aren't too many delays for you two. *hugs* Hopefully Mark will begin to relax a little bit, too! :)

Good luck with the work stress. At least you can escape it for a few days eh? :)

Thanks so much, Carrie!! And Mark was doing the "staring into his suitcase" thing just a minute ago... so I think he's probably gotten to his "muttering the contents of his suitcase to himself" thing right about now. :)

Thanks for the luck - these days at work, I could really use it! :P And you're completely right - this escape couldn't have come at a better time!!!

I just missed all the extra security by a week! When I heard what it was for... I'm glad I got home a week before! I wouldn't want to wait that long in customs, so I'm glad I missed it. I'm sorry that you won't though. Atleast you'll have a good time while here right?

I'm so glad that you missed it all!! I would've been so worried for you if you were coming back from Ireland now!!! The security measures are a hassle, but really - you can't get anywhere from here without getting on a darn plane so I've long since resigned myself to all things security related... :P

And I plan to have a wonderful time there!!

I already posted some of my thoughts on this airline security thing, so I won't get into that, but I hope that Mark is okay, and that you guys get there and back safely and without too much hassle! And HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!! :D

Thanks so much, Karen!!! Hopefully the lines at the airport will be a little better tomorrow. :) Big *HUGS*

Yes, I thought of you when I heard about it. I hope that things will calm at least a bit down until you leave tomorrow. As well, I hope that Mark is going to feel better again. Hope you have a safe trip and I wish you both a wonderful time. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Big *hugs* to you, Sheri!

I think the airport situation will be a lot better than it was this morning... At least it'll give people some time to prepare for it. And though Mark is stressed right now, he's usually fine once we're there... He just likes to know how things turn out. :) To me, watching exciting things unfold is half the fun of traveling. :) Thanks for your good thoughts, Sabine!! Big *HUGS*
